Conan O’Brien delivers yet another classic remote segment where he actually goes to TBS’ head of Standards and Practices to see what might and might not get censored on the show.

Of course, Conan mines every bit of comedy gold out of this and then some. Watch it here.

This is one of those rare moments where you might want to pause whatever streaming service you’re watching and go watch some live television.

The Angie Tribeca Marathon started at 9PM yesterday and is going for 25 hours, so you still have plenty of chances to catch the entire first season today. At 10 episodes for this first season, that makes for five hours to watch the whole thing.

Tune into TBS right now before the late afternoon if you indeed want to watch all of season one.

Whether you’re looking for an alternative to awards, sports, or debates or looking for something to watch after all of that’s over or, more importantly, looking for a return in comedic to straight silly, goofy, and dumb (all in the best way possible that is), you should catch any or all of the Angie Tribeca 25 hour marathon/series premiere on the new and improved TBS.

It starts at 9PM and there will be plenty of this sort of thing.

Samantha Bee Planning on Foregoing Guests for “Full Frontal”

It’s really worked for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Why wouldn’t it work for Sam Bee?

Skipping out on the traditional panel interview of almost every late night talk show and focusing on topics and stories that tend to get less media attention are the game plan for Full Frontal according to its host Samantha Bee at the TCA Winter Press Tour.

Another Daily Show alum, John Oliver, has seen pretty great success also shifting away from both copying The Daily Show as well as the traditional late night format.

What we’re really amped for is Bee’s third act that she says will be called “our world of whimsy”. It’s anything goes part of the show, which we hope is along the lines of her one woman show for The Five.

Once a network that you primarily just knew for Conan, TBS is looking to start anew in this ever changing landscape of TV, especially when it comes to comedy.

So, with the likes of an entire new line-up of shows including the Steve and Nancy Carell’s Angie Tribeca, Jason Jones’ The Detour, People of Earth from Conaco, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Search Party from Charles Rogers and Sarah Violet Bliss (the duo behind Fort Tilden), and Wrecked.

From the looks of this trailer that rundowns this new line-up, they might have a good shot at finding a new niche.

TBS is really showing their cards this week by not only announcing that their latest series order comes from Conan O’Brien’s Conaco for People of Earth starring Wyatt Cenac, but releasing a teaser for the alien abduction support group comedy.

It’s clear to see that they’re turning a new leaf by going more into single-camera and getting weirder than they’ve ever been and we’re excited to see how far they go in that direction.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” Joins in the World of Late Night , Star Wars Style

As of right now, there is still no female hosts in late night.

Come February 2016, that will all change once again when Samantha Bee takes up the mantle and push forward from where Chelsea Handler was at E!

So far, she’s off to a good start with this Star Wars-themed, complete with the voice of Darth Vader, promo.

Angela Kinsey Developing and Possibly Starring in Telemarketing Comedy for TBS

Yep, Angela Kinsey might be headed back to an office.

Whether doing accounting at a paper company or working at a 1-800 call center is more dreadful than the other is up for debate, but Angela Kinsey, who broke out in her role as Angela on the U.S. version of The Office, being in a workplace comedy is always a good thing.

Taking from her own experience working at a call center, Kinsey is writing this comedy, aptly named 1-800, for TBS, which is going under a whole makeover right now.

She might star in it, though we can’t imagine that if she does that she’d be nearly anything like Dunder Mifflin’s Angela.

We can only hope that will get to see in order to find out.

Not only is TBS is changing up their programming and branding, they’re also thinking outside the box with their actual schedule.

The long wait for TBS’ police procedural comedy Angie Tribeca starring Rashida Jones will have not been in vain.

Come Sun. Jan. 17th at 9PM and going to Mon. Jan. 18th at 10PM, the entire first season will air five times in a row, back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

The following Monday, Jan. 25th, at 9:30PM, will see the premiere of season 2 of Angie Tribeca and amount to a total of twenty episodes between both seasons in the span of an entire TV season.

We’re not making this up as you can clearly see by this TBS promo.

TBS Shows Off Their New Look with New Dark Comedy Series “Search Party” Starring Alia Shawkat

Starting next year, TBS will have their “very funny” branding fading off into the distance in their rear view mirror. They’ve got a new snappy logo as well a Jason Jones sitcom and a Samantha Bee hosted late night talk show on deck.

Today, they unveiled their new series, Search Party from Charles Rogers and Sarah Violet Bliss, the folks behind the brilliant Fort Tilden, starring Alia Shawkat.

Charles and Sarah have a really great sense of how to examine millennials in an honest, raw sense without making it seem that they’re just doing a two-dimensional caricature of young people, so we’re excited to see what they’ve concocted in this show with their latest batch of self-obssessives, one of which is the great John Early, looking for a friend that’s gone missing.

Get a taste of Search Party as well as a glimpse of the new TBS logo (and a sense of the new and improved TBS) in this trailer.

From Cuba to Armenia to Qatar, Conan O’Brien is making a point of going where American comedy rarely, if ever, goes.

We’re already looking forward to the special where Conan goes to Armenia and now, we’ll also be highly anticipating the now globe trotting Conan O’Brien visiting U.S. troops stationed at Qatar next week.

It’ll be interesting to see where Conan will go with hijinks with accompanying First Lady Michelle Obama.

At this rate, anyone think O’Brien will get another show where he just visits places?

TBS Orders Pilot From Finals Girls’ Todd Strauss-Schulson and Matt Fogel

Here’s yet another step in a good direction for TBS.

In case you haven’t taken note, TBS is giving themselves an overhaul. Already, they have a talk show from Samantha Bee and a sitcom from Jason Jones coming up. Now, they’ve just ordered a comedy pilot from the minds of Todd Strauss-Schulson, the mastermind behind the wonderful meta 80s slasher comedy The Final Girls, and Matt Fogel, who composed music on Funny or Die’s The Wire: The Musical.

It’ll follow two friends who are part of a generation of men that are embracing all their emotions. While that’s not much to try to imagine what the pilot might exactly entail, we’re pretty sure Strauss-Schulson and Fogel have something clever up their sleeve given their past work.

All in all, we’re really intrigued to see how good this new TBS could be.

He might have had this title for years now, but Conan O’Brien has to unequivocally be the most intrepid host in late night.

He’s traveled all across the globe over his decades as a late night talk show host from Atlanta to Ireland to Cuba to Comic-Con, which has made for some of his best segments.

Now, Conan is taping a whole show in Armenia along with his assistant, Sona Movsesian, who happens to be Armenian, set to premiere on Nov. 10th on TBS.

There’ll be plenty of reminders between now and the premiere date, but make sure now to watch this.

This awards ceremony will get to air on TBS so we can only hope that there’s an elaborate bit being planned between Brooks and Martin.

For the almost mythologically large career that Steve Martin has had, The American Film Institute is honoring him with a Life Achievement Award. Previous AFI Life Achievement Award winner and fellow comedy legend Mel Brooks will be presenting Martin with the award, which we’ll all get to see on Jun. 13th on TBS.

As of now, Steve has ¾ of an EGOT as well as a Mark Twain Prize and will now be receiving this award. So, he has an EGOMTAFI?

TBS Orders Alien Abduction Comedy Pilot “The Group” From Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels

(via Deadline)

TBS is really stepping up their game this year.

Shows from Samantha Bee and Jason Jones as well as Angie Tribeca already has raised anticipation of the new of programming coming to TBS.

TBS/TNT President Kevin Reilly is trying to keep that anticipation up on the TBS end with a pilot from the minds of Conan O’Brien and The Office’s Greg Daniels.

Their project, “The Group”, is centered on a support group for folks that think they’ve been through an alien abduction as they’re profiled by a very skeptical journalist. Of course, he becomes unsure of what’s going on the further he explores their stories.

We’d definitely hope this goes to series just so we can see the pilot of this.

If this goes well, maybe all those fake shows that Conan makes faux promos for might get reconsidered?

Conan O’Brien To Go on Six Week Long Remote Trips Next Year

Whether they read this thing we wrote awhile back, we’re thrilled to hear that Conan is going to roam more “in the wild” so to speak in 2016.

Probably one of the best parts of this era of Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show career is when he steps away from the desk and couch and goes out into the world. For years, O’Brien has made situations that wouldn’t seem to have any inherent comedy in them like delivering Chinese food, going into doll store, or doing commercial auditions, and make something absolutely hysterical. It’s comedy alchemy making comedy gold from seemingly nothing.

Conan’s trip to Cuba is proof positive of how doing an entire show of remotes would work quite well.

So, ahead of what is sure to be a memorable week at Comic-Con for Conan and company next month, we all have way more remote segments to look forward to from Conan in the form of six week-long trips starting next year.

Hopefully, this means more trips to breweries, distilleries, etc. where Conan tries to shorten the guided tour to get to drinking.

Samantha Bee wasn’t kidding when she tweeted out “Lord thundering Jesus this day is about to get exciting.”

Announced today, she will be starring in a satirical news show that has gone into development over at TBS. Her husband Jason Jones has also left The Daily Show for his own TBS series “Vacation Time”.

So, with some of the most senior Daily Show correspondents Jason Jones and Samantha Bee gone and Jon Stewart headed out later this year, the mystery thickens even beyond who will take Stewart’s desk as The Daily Show host to what will a whole new era of The Daily Show look like.

There are a lot of things in play here, but stop and take a look at be amazed with the comedy empire of satirical news shows alone that The Daily Show has sprouted with its alumni. The Colbert Report, Last Week Tonight, The Nightly Show, and now Samantha Bee’s upcoming series.

Conan O’Brien has indeed set a precedent by going to Cuba as the first American late night talk show host in over 50 years to go over there to tape the show.

This special episode “Conan In Cuba” premieres tonight and while it has the potential to be a big watershed moment in relations between the U.S. and Cuba, Conan O’Brien still sings silly songs, dances like a goofball, and all the other signature moves that we’ve come to know and love from Conan.

Watch a teaser for tonight’s episode here then be sure to tune in to TBS at 11PM tonight.

They still don’t have a name for the show, but the family vacation comedy from The Daily Show’s correspondent couple Jason Jones and Samantha Bee has gotten 10 episode order from TBS.

From the sound of what has been described, it seems like it might be a 21st century take on where National Lampoon’s Vacation film franchise left off. The Vacation franchise is also picking up where it left off with a reboot starring Ed Helms later this year.

WIth the announcement of the series pick-up, Jones has tweeted that he’ll be leaving The Daily Show as well since he will be plenty busy writing, starring, etc. in this new show.

Conan O’Brien is having a pretty amazing year as far in taking his show out of the studio. The fantastic remotes aside, he already has a trip to Comic-Con scheduled for later this year and now, he has traveled to Cuba since sanctions had been lifted by Obama to tape an episode.

Tonight Show host Jack Paar was the last late night talk show from the U.S. to do so all the way back in 1962 when he chatted with Fidel Castro.

We’re not sure what’s going to happen, but we’re sure Conan is going to make some comedy gold out of riding in old cars and visiting a cigar factory. We’ll find out when the episode airs Mar. 4th.

“Billy On The Street” Moving to truTV and TBS For Fourth Season

Not only are we going to get to see America’s favorite “pop culture inquisitor” Billy Eichner return to the streets for a fourth season to question any and all, famous or not about his personal pop culture obsessions, but we’ll get two different networks to watch it on.

Eichner and company are moving from Fuse to both truTV and TBS in their fourth season as well, perhaps, going somewhere else (Billy is taking suggestions) besides various parts of NYC.

So, all of America needs to prep their knowledge on Meryl Streep for later this year.

There’s has been plenty of build up over the last several months to TBS’ slapstick cop comedy Angie Tribeca including a trailer.

It’s set to premiere in the summer, but with David Koechner and Amy Smart coming into the series and Ground Floor getting the axe, we wouldn’t have any problem with the series premiering next week.

In a TV world beset by old school multi-cam sitcoms and dramadies, Angie Tribeca seems like it’ll be a breath of fresh air, especially with Koechner playing a police commissioner.

Conan O’Brien has the almost singular ability to go into any situation, no matter how rote or mundane it is, and create absolutely hysterical moments and situations.

Nowhere is this more evident than the remote segments he has done over the years while hosting his late night talk shows. So, naturally, we loved the idea of TBS putting on an entire special of his remote segments, “Conan To Go: The Remotes Special”, this past week.

If you missed out on watching it, Conan’s Team Coco has put it up for us all to enjoy at our leisure.
