Don Fanelli’s acclaimed podcast, The Need to Fail, is coming up on its 100th episode and, to mark the occasion, will be taping a humdinger of a live ep. at Lyric Hyperion this Friday with two, count ‘em, two stellar guests, Casey Wilson and Bobby Moynihan.

Of course, the podcast follows closely to the title as Fanelli’s guests share the the low points in the career, their failures that preceded the plethora of success they currently have. Without a doubt, you’ll want to hear what Wilson and Moynihan went through to get where they are now.

Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

That being said, it’s not a weekly affair anymore and thus, we’re keeping an eye out for you for the show’s upcoming dates including this one near the end of March with yet another stacked line-up (from several different generations of comedy by the way).

Anyways, tickets are going from $10-$30 (plus a 2-item min.) and you can get your tickets here.

Ryan Sickler Is Picking Up Right Where He Left Off with The HoneyDew

While it’s sad to see one of the all-time best storytelling podcasts, The Crabfeast, come to an end, you have almost nothing to worry about as both hosts Ryan Sickler and Jay Larson will be doing their own storytelling-driven podcasts.

For starters, Ryan Sickler will be finding the stories of shortcomings, failures, hard times, etc. with hilarious guests and sharing them on his new podcast, The HoneyDew. Taking a listen to the first episode with Josh Adam Meyers, it’s clear Sickler won’t have lost a single step since the Crabfeast ended. It’s reveling in the “honeydew”, perfectly good fruit, that always seems to get passed up.

Take and listen and subscribe to The HoneyDew on iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts. If you subscribed to the Crabfeast, the feed has changed over already.

On stage as a stand-up, on The Crabfeast podcast, and even behind-the-scenes at the storytelling series This Is Not Happening, Ryan Sickler has made himself an undeniable presence when it comes to comedic storytelling.

So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that his new album Get a Hold of Yourself is a finely aged bottled of stories tapped from Sickler’s personal reserves about his family, drugs, and the infamous roller coaster Tatsu. When hearing them, there’s a timeless feel to the way he weaves details together, his perfectly measured timing, the smooth, deep sound of his voice that make it so you can’t help but want to sit and listen and not really want to do anything else.

So, go get Ryan Sickler’s Get a Hold of Yourself available now from Blonde Medicine here.

Public School Stories has been carrying the torch as one of the best live storytelling shows in LA thanks to stellar booking and their insistence on the stories only living at the show and not on a podcast or anywhere else. You have to be there to see it and it’s just a little extra special because of that.

So, join them in their final show on Wed., Dec. 5th, which also happens to be their annual charity Winter Formal that will be raising funds for RAICES, Immigration Law Firm.

They haven’t announced the line-up, but we’re sure that all-star hosts/producers Stephen Falk, Joey Slamon, James Urbaniak, Natasha Vargas-Cooper will not disappoint.

Normally, the stories featured on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening aren’t usually described as “sweet”, however Chris Garcia’s story of trying to win his girl back via boxing does definitely have all sorts of sweet throughout.

Don’t worry, there’s plenty of cursing and violence too (otherwise, it really wouldn’t be a TINH story, would it?)

Give it a watch and enjoy it here.
