Stop What You’re Doing and Get Your First Look at What We Do in the Shadows Season 5

June 15, 2023
News
season 5, trailer, what we do in the shadows

In the decades to come, one can only hope that the comedy historians will look back at What We Do In the Shadows as one of the true stand out comedies of our time as it’s as funny as it is such an outlier from the wide field of dramedy series that makes up a very good percentage of prestige TV.

We’d argue that quarantine during the pandemic would have possibly been more unbearable had a new season not dropped just right around then in 2020.

What We Do in the Shadows’ fifth season is just around the corner and Guillermo, Nadia, Laszlo, Nandor, and Colin Robinson (in adult form) will be back in our lives and make the insanity of 2023 tolerable. The trailer for this upcoming season promises more top shelf hijinks from America’s favorite vampires and, hopefully, that will translate to plenty of well-deserved awards wins come next awards season.

Get a delicious taste of what awaits us with What We Do in the Shadows season 5 (including a big twist for Guillermo) here, then try waiting patiently for its premiere on FX on Jul. 13th (next day on Hulu).

Here’s the First Full Trailer for Better Things Season 5

News
better things, celia emrie, fx, hannah alligood, mikey madison, olivia edward, pamela adlon, season 5, trailer

It’s not enough to say that Pamela Adlon’s Better Things is one of the best comedies on TV during this current Golden Age of Television and the rise of prestige comedies. It’s truly one of the most beautiful shows on TV for how much unfettered humanity it explores, especially in regards to a relationship between mothers and daughters. Also, Adlon has a multi-sensory feast of preparing delicious food on the show, having a great soundtrack, and truly show off LA (or any other city the show visits) in such a luminous way (on top of having iconically hysterical moments) that we believe that this show will stand the test of time.

It’s only a few weeks more until the premiere of the fifth and final season on Feb. 28th on FX (streaming on Hulu), but, in knowing that, these coming days will probably feel so damn long. In the meantime, you can re binge the whole series on Hulu and watch the trailer for this new season.

Get Just a Little Bit More of a Peek at Season 5 of Rick & Morty with Their Third Traiiler

May 24, 2021
News
rick and morty, season 5, trailer

The arrival of the fifth season of Rick & Morty is oh so close (it’s next month) and, as such, Adult Swim has been giving us all tidbits through multiple trailers over the last month. Each has been pretty jam packed with the misanthropic misadventures of Rick & Morty as well as Summer, Beth, and Jerry.

There’s no telling how self-reflexive or satirical they’ll get this season (how could they get more meta than the Story Train?), but it should be more of the existential, devil-may-care-ish humor that has made it one of TV’s most popular shows. See for yourself in Rick & Morty Season 5 Official Trailer #1, #2, and, as of this weekend, #3.

Then, of course, make a reminder for Sun. Jun. 20th 8PM PT/11PM ET on Adult Swim for the season premiere.

Rick and Morty Declares Jun. 20th as Rick and Morty Day (and When Season 5 Premieres)

News
adult swim, rick and morty, rick and morty day, season 5, trailer

It’s usually a long wait between seasons of Rick and Morty. It’s popularity and acclaim do make those wait seem interminably long, but the show has proven over four seasons that it has been repeatedly worth it.

Yet, the arrival of the fifth season of Rick and Morty is just around the corner, specifically this Summer on Sun. Jun. 20th at 11PM on Adult Swim. The multiverse chaos that ensues between Rick, Morty, Summer, Beth, and Jerry will not only commence again, but will be greeted with the newly minted holiday, Rick and Morty Day on the aforementioned Jun. 20th. There are so many ridiculous “holidays” every day (just look up I Am in Control Day for today) that this is a more than welcome addition to the cavalcade of celebrations we’re all subjected to on a daily basis.

In the meantime, you can rewatch the trailer (we’re assuming that you’ve seen in all the universes that you exist in by now) for season 5 of Rick and Morty here.

Here’s an Insane Teaser (as You’d Expect) for Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show

October 1, 2020
News
adult swim, eric andre, season 5, teaser, the eric andre show

The Eric Andre Show has long been a wild break from this plane of reality and certainly a twisted-fun-house-of-mirrors reflection of the world of late night. With each of his four seasons at Adult Swim, Eric has managed to up the ante from past episodes while refining his grasp on controlled chaos (i.e. being a little more aware of how to get arrested less during sketches).

This fifth season looks to keep up the absurdist, dadaist vibe going strong, but, this time around, as it is 2020, the world seems actually more crazy than the world of the show. With that in mind, it would still be a nice break from the sort of lives we’re all afforded in quarantine.

See for yourself  with this teaser for season 5 of The Eric Andre Show here, then look for the season premiere on Sun. Oct. 25th at midnight.

Get Your First Look at Baroness Von Sketch’s Fifth Season at IFC

Though Portlandia was pretty much the face of IFC for its eight season run, the cable network has also been growing another sketch series, the Canadian born-and-bred Baroness Von Sketch, for quite some time now. It’ll be premiering its fifth season next month, specifically on Wed. Oct. 14th on IFC and has effectively taken the torch from Portlandia in heading up IFC’s branding of clever, forward thinking sketch comedy.

Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne, and Jennifer Whalen make up Baroness Von Sketch and really do keep the fire alive for sketch comedy over at IFC over their past four seasons.

From the looks of this trailer, they do really look to offer up their best season yet.

First Look at Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show (Premiering Oct. 25th)

News
adult swim, first look, season 5, the eric andre show

It has been a minute or two since The Eric Andre Show got to wreak terrific havoc with destroying numerous talk show desks and shocking folks with any one of a cornucopia’s worth of characters from Eric Andre himself. Luckily, this dadaist, absurdist break from reality that The Eric Andre Show offers will be coming relatively soon, right before Halloween in fact on Sun. Oct. 25th on Adult Swim.

There’s no trailer as of yet, but these first few stills from season 5 might give you some of the controlled chaos that Andre dished out for this year. If anything, these new episodes will be a very welcome respite from the election that will be happening not too long after the premiere.

Arrested Development Season 5 Part 2 Gets a Trailer

February 28, 2019
Uncategorized
arrested development, netflix, season 5, trailer

Sure, there is season 5 part 2, but given Arrested Development’s insane trajectory as a television show (how the show has been made over the years is possibly as crazy as the actual storylines in the show), what will this end up meaning in the grand scheme of the show’s history? Arrested Development is so wonderfully meta and self-referential already, maybe these new episodes should be called “part deux”?

As we have not seen any of these upcoming episodes, we’re not sure exactly what’s going to happen, but we do know that, when all is said and done, watching Arrested Development in its entirety will probably break your brain (probably in a good way that is).

In any case, here’s a taste of what you are in store for starting Mar. 15th.

BoJack Horseman Season 5 Is Now Streaming

This is just a friendly neighborhood reminder of what you’ll probably end up spending your whole weekend watching.

Who knew that an animated series following a misanthropic, anthropomorphized horse trying to process fame, existence, etc. peppered with clever animal puns would be one of the most poignant shows of our time and go for 5 seasons?

We had a feeling of season 1 of BoJack Horseman that this might be the case. In any case, all episodes of season 5 of BoJack are now streaming on Netflix.

Arrested Development Season 5 Trailer Is a Pretty Great Way to Start Off This Week

The Bluth Family will be at their disastrous, but thoroughly entertaining hijinks yet again at the end of the month (Tuesday, May 29th) on Netflix.

From the looks of the new season’s trailer, season 5 of Arrested Development looks so very promising and definitely made us smile to start off a week (a first in a very long time).

Watch it, enjoy it, and repeat here until 5/29.

“Join the celebration. #TransparentTV has been renewed for Season 5.

“Join the celebration. #TransparentTV has been renewed for Season 5.

Amazon Studios very smartly has picked up their critically acclaimed, award winning marquee/flagship/landmark series Transparent from Jill Soloway for its fifth season.

It should be noted that most TV series, in traditional linear TV, would be gunning for syndication at this point and, perhaps, bringing the show to a close.

As streaming services makes the idea of syndication kind of out-dated since you can binge watch the whole series whenever and pretty much wherever you want, the course and duration of a show like Transparent as well as Soloway will likely be followed by several other people making TV moving forward.

Trailer for Season 5 of “Episodes” Shows a Matt LeBlanc Coming to Terms with the New Media Landscape

If, a decade ago, you could place money on whether a TV series called Episodes would last more than one season on a premium cable network, much less for five, we’d guess that you wouldn’t make that bet.

However, Matt LeBlanc has found more than solid footing in a post-Friends world with such a show.

See for yourself in the trailer for the fifth and upcoming season of Episodes.

Look for the premiere on Sunday, August 20th at 10PM on Showtime.

Will Arnett Says ‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Will Be Much More Like the Original

Rather than trying to plan around shooting schedules and piecing together multiple storylines from multiple characters, there will be more of the Bluths coming together in the upcoming season of Arrested Development.

So, someone’s wishes (probably a lot of people’s) have been answered.

We’ll see how much season 5 will harken back to some of the best seasons of televised comedy, hopefully, not to far from now.

Arrested Development Season 5 Close to Happening as Deals for Cast Are Almost Done

According to Hollywood power player and Arrested Development EP Brian Grazer, all the deals for the large, highly in demand cast of Arrested Development (think about Veep, Transparent, Search Party, several feature projects, etc.) are almost done.

That means a fifth season of Arrested Development is almost officially under way. While it’s not official yet and the show has a topsy turvy history of being made, any hint of glimmer of hope these days is worth taking these days.

Season 5 Veep Trailer Gives a Glimpse of a Crazy Election That’s Only Slightly Less Crazy Than the Current Real One

In many ways, the contested election on this season of Veep might seem more desirable than what we’re going through right now as a nation.

Sure, there’s plenty of second-guessing, trash talking, pandering, etc., but whatever sick comeback or burn you could think of pales in comparison from anything from the pen of the writing staff of Veep.

You’ll see what we mean in this new trailer.

Look for the premiere of season 5 of Veep on Sunday, April 24th on HBO.
