Colin Quinn has been expertly dissecting every single trope of every police procedural/detective TV series with Cop Show.

In fact, Quinn has done it so well with showing how overdone so many cop shows are, but pointing out their fallacies with “behind-the-scenes” footage and interviews with a mysterious European journalist, that he’s made it to a 3rd season over at L Studio.

Get into season 3 of Cop Show here.

Kate McKinnon, Tracee Ellis Ross, Samantha Bee, Niecy Nash, and Allison Janney Sound Off on “Why Men Aren’t Funny”

This is a nice counterpoint to that infamous, inflammatory, and completely unnecessary Christopher Hitchens essay from 2007 voiced by some of the most notable funny people around today that just happen to be women.

Sure, 2007 was almost a decade ago and there has always been evidence against Hitchens, but it’s always fun to skewer his Why Women Aren’t Funny piece every once in awhile.

“Trump vs Bernie” with Anthony Atamanuik and James Adomian Comes to a Close with Live Album

It’s all official now.

The 2016 Presidential Election will be between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

That’s unfortunate as this contest, with Bernie Sanders having dropped out, now has left the brilliant satirical parody of Trump vs. Bernie, orchestrated masterfully by Anthony Atamanuik and James Adomian hanging.

So, with that in mind, Atamanuik and Adomian have retired Trump vs. Bernie for now, but have made sure give us all one last parting gift: a Trump vs. Bernie album.

Trump vs. Bernie: Live in Brooklyn was just released yesterday on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, and will come out on vinyl in November.

Of all the political comedy in this election, Trump vs. Bernie stood out from the pack and you should definitely get their album to remember/find out what that was.

Stephen Colbert Enlists Laura Benanti for Melania Trump Speech “Apology” That Is “100%” Original

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is on the ball with satirizing the GOP convention in Cleveland.

You might have heard Melania Trump’s speech at the convention was claimed to be lifted from Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech causing a ‘yuge’ fallout. Please note that Melania insisted she wrote the speech and today, the speech writer (who is actually not Melania) apologized for indeed taking cues from Michelle Obama at the direction of Melania.

That makes this cold open to last night’s Late Show all the more damning.

Also, props to Laura Benanti for doing top notch job impersonating Melania. There are times when you’re not even sure if it’s an impersonator or not in this bit.

While we’ve been reinforced to enjoy summer due to the scheduling of most schools in this country, there are a good deal of people who don’t enjoy June, July, and August because of the intense heat and the fact that it’s not the holiday season.

If you’ve ever felt alone because you’re an “anti-summer” person, fret no more (except for the part where you hate summer) as Connor Ratliff and Mikey Erg, the guys behind the non-religious holiday album Spirit of Ratliff, have a nice collection of songs that speak to your anathema of summer.

Watch the lyric video for 4th of July: RESURGENCE if you think we’re making all of this up for some reason.

It’s entilted Summer Is Not XMAS, has 7 songs, and can (and should) be downloaded off of Bandcamp right here.

When it comes to making in “the biz” as talent, you often have to have some sort of reel. For actors, it’s very common to have a reel for commercial, drama, comedy, characters, stunts, etc.

What’s probably not seen enough in these reels is the skill of portraying the act of death on screen.

Luckily, Ron Babcock made a “death reel” to make fun of the inevitability of death and how uncomfortable we are in talking about it start exploring this unexplored niche and get in on work that other actors are probably stupidly missing out on.

For some reason, this great sketch on Inside Amy Schumer featuring Jon Benjamin as a lawyer who can’t do anything about mass shootings was cut from airing even though gun control is absolutely the hot button issue in the U.S. right now.

All the filibustering, sit-ins, and general demand from an overwhelming majority of Americans for any sort of action on gun control make the sketch so timely that it has now been posted online.

Amy Schumer Does a Dark Satire of Multi Cam Sitcoms That Somehow Still Exist in 2016

There are so many reasons to think that we’re living in the future that past generations dreamed of, this presidential election notwithstanding, including going to Mars, self-driving cars, living past 100, and having the Internet instantly available in our pockets.

However, in 2016, there are many sitcoms, often those of the multi cam variety, that are still culturally reductive and, in a manner of speaking, ‘way behind the times’. You’ve probably seen Louie call this out on one episode where they had a cheesy sitcom break the fourth wall.

Well, Inside Amy Schumer upped the ante and went even darker with their satire of sitcoms that should have stayed in the last millennium.

Even in 2016, many issues regarding the health of women are still largely being decided by male politicians who are far from being experts on women’s bodies.

This latest season of Inside Amy Schumer decided to juxtapose an OB/GYN visit with that reality in order to show how unbelievably ridiculous that is.

Per usual, they nail the absurdity of the matter on the head and keep driving it further and further.

As you have seen from things like The Wolf of Wall Street, get rich quick schemes only work when someone gets severely screwed along the way.

The same goes for many of those books that promised a simple, numbered system to obtain a vaguely defined goal of success.

So, Grant Pardee along with Matt Champagne and Susan Burke made a fun satirical ad if those books were a little more upfront with their message.
