Sure, there’s thousands of unofficial Rick and Morty merch made by very talented fans. It’s a testament to not only how popular the show is, but how dedicated their fans are.

Just see how many people have already made “Pickle Rick Enamel Pins” on Etsy.

On the more officially licensed merch side, there’s plenty of stuff that you might want to cop that you didn’t know about.

Such things include a Rick and Morty version of Clue, Monopoly, a 1000 piece puzzle of Anatomy Park, playing cards, and a whole slickly designed line of apparel and accessories (some of which are a part of a limited Run The Jewels crossover capsule collection) from Daylight Curfew.

Watch the Rick and Morty Cast and Creators Improvise a SpongeBob SquarePants Crossover

As part of a chat with Vulture, Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon, Ryan Ridley, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke (AKA cast and creators of Rick and Morty) not only improvised what a few scenes from a crossover of Rick and Morty and SpongeBob Squarepants might be like, but also got some accompanying animation to really bring it to life.

Spoiler alert, the crossover is definitely more Rick and Morty than it is SpongeBob.

Watch and enjoy here before you sit and tune into tonight’s new Rick and Morty at 11PM tonight.

In case you weren’t aware, Rick and Morty had its humble beginnings from a beautiful thing called Channel 101.

Channel 101 is the indie TV institution created by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab that still runs to this day with its own self-sustaining creative community. It’s also the place where Harmon met his Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.

Get more of that story in this first part of an Adult Swim behind-the-scenes series that explains how the brilliant hit, Rick and Morty came to be.

By the way, has anyone made a connection that “Pickle Rick” is literally about getting out of a pickle (other than the woman who points that out at the end of this Ricking Morty)?

Rick and Morty Had Its Own After Show “Ricking Morty” for Season 3 Premiere

July 31, 2017
Uncategorized
after show, dan harmon, jane becker, rick and morty, ricking morty, sam jay, scott adsit

First off, take note of a few things to take away from the headline on the Rick and Morty after-show, Ricking Morty.

Rick and Morty is the first animated series and the first comedy series (outside of some late night bits and some sketches from sketch comedy shows) to get a legitimate (i.e. put on by the network) “after show” a la Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mr. Robot, Game of Thrones, etc.

Though not as serialized as all the other dramas we just name-checked, every episode of Rick and Morty has so much to unpack and analyze underneath the brightly colored, uber-clever, hilarious exterior, which makes room for plenty of discussion in an after show.

We can only hope that this is a recurring thing and not just a special one-off for the premiere only, especially since it’s billed as the Official Rick and Morty After-Show.

Also, you’ll note that the host is the very funny Sam Jay (and not Chris Hardwick or any other famous TV personality). We’re glad to see that whoever made the call gave Jay a shot that is well deserved.

Watch Ricking Morty here (after you watch the premiere of season 3 here).

An integral part of the premiere episode of Rick and Morty season 3, as you might know, is McDonalds promotional Szechuan Sauce.

Well, after the livestreaming of the premiere on April Fools’ Day this year, it would seem McDonalds got in on the fun and sent this package to Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.

We can only imagine what other multinational companies will bend to the will of Rick and Morty season 3.

We shall see as the season premiere is tonight at 11:30PM on Adult Swim.

Keep in mind that you only have to wait until Sunday night on Adult Swim before season 3 arrives.

“The Art of Rick and Morty” Book Coming Out Soon

Tweeted out a few days ago, “Coming soon from dark horse…”.

As you can see, it’ll be a behind the scenes book focusing on not only the art of the celebrated series, but the process of how Rick and Morty is exactly made and details behind their many wondrous characters.

There is no official release date yet, but, if it comes out before or during this year’s holiday season, we’re guessing it’ll be one of the more popular gifts that people will be buying up.

So, series co-creator Dan Harmon sat down and gave his own personal take on what Rick and Morty says about the search for the meaning of it all. Please enjoy it here.

Rick and Morty Created a Site for the “Galactic Federation”

The details about season 3 of Rick and Morty are still murky, especially with the cliffhanger that they ended with.

However, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have made up an entire website for the interstellar governing body within the show known as the Galactic Federation. It offers up message boards and satirically parallel Internet articles that are supposedly from millions of light years away. Whether it be digging for clues or just enjoying the nuances of the Rick and Morty universe(s), it’s one step closer to season 3.
