At Home With Amy Sedaris Is Getting a Second Season at TruTV
The part craft, part absurdist sketch show, At Home with Amy Sedaris, all hosted by Amy Sedaris, is indeed getting 10 more episodes at TruTV to be shot later this year.
We can only imagine that Amy Sedaris will double down on how Amy Sedaris-esque this show is for the second season and we can’t wait to see what that means.
Comedy Central Renews Corporate for Season 2
Despite the protestations of alt-right blogs and the Catholic League, the ultra-dark workplace comedy from Jake Weisman, Matt Ingebretson, and Pat Bishop called Corporate, will be returning for a second season at Comedy Central.
We have no doubt that they’ll be doubling down on the comedic nihilism and we’ll probably be enjoying every second of it just like their season 2 writing staff will be.

As you probably well know, 2020 will be the year when we do all the election chaos again.

Sometimes, things work how they’re supposed to and a great short film gets successfully adapted into a television worthy of being renewed. Such is the story of Frankie Shaw’s SMILF.
Per their Twitter profile, The Good Place is rightfully celebrating their season 3 renewal.
This is a great moment to take a step back and, again, realize how prolific the comedy of Mike Schur is (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Place).
One of FXx’s best series to date will come to a conclusion in a fifth season. For our money, this is the captivating will they-won’t they story for our time.
It does leave you wondering what’s coming down the pipe over at FXx that might fill it shoes.
Before that happens, we can rest somewhat easy knowing that there’s one more season of You’re The Worst coming.
Netflix Renews Their True Crime Mockumentary ‘American Vandal’ For a Second Season
Netflix really wants to run the table on programming by not only having some of the best true crime documentary series around, but also spectacularly parodying them as well.
Look for season 2 of American Vandal to come next year.
Big Mouth Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

The honest, but blue animated series about puberty (based on the puberty of Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg) has only upped Netflix’s profile in the adult animated series arena (BoJack Horseman and F Is For Family being the others).
A second season slated for 2018 will be awaited for excitedly.
Casual, the dark relationship comedy on Hulu, will be going for more one more round in its fourth season.
In a TV landscape of great dark, romantic, and relationship comedy, Michaela Watkins, Tara Lynne Barr, and Tommy Dewey have put forth great performances that have seen the show through the years. Please do watch/rewatch Casual when you get a chance.
On top of another quality FX series continuing on at the juggernaut cable network, reading the words “better things renewed” just feels good and makes us, even if for just a moment, hopeful.
Trevor Noah to Host The Daily Show Through 2022
Many late night hosts have their future secured up until 2020 and Comedy Central is more than doubling down on their current Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, who did win a Creative Arts Emmy.
No one else in late night is currently renewed that far in the future (Fallon is re-upped to 2021), which will see Trevor far past the next presidential election. It’s hard to say how exactly it’ll look, but we have no doubt that late night will have gone through many more changes by the time 2022 rolls around. Suffice it to say that Comedy Central has a whole lot of faith in Noah.
TBS Renews Wrecked, People Of Earth, and The Guest Book
Wrecked and People of Earth are getting a third season and The Guest Book is being re-upped for a second.
This would be an opportune moment to note that TBS programming line-up currently includes all of those shows as well as Angie Tribeca, Search Party, The Detour, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and Conan.
It’s pretty solid now and, we bet, beacuse of this, you’d have a hard time remembering what TBS used to be like and when exactly they were the channel had many more multi cam sitcoms.
Fleabag Reupped for Season 2 by Both BBC and Amazon
What started out as a play by Phoebe Waller-Bridge is now getting a second season in both the UK and the US after a very well received first season as a TV series.
In case you didn’t know, Fleabag is indeed a fantastic dark comedy and one of Amazon’s best original series offerings.

Amazon Studios very smartly has picked up their critically acclaimed, award winning marquee/flagship/landmark series Transparent from Jill Soloway for its fifth season.
It should be noted that most TV series, in traditional linear TV, would be gunning for syndication at this point and, perhaps, bringing the show to a close.
As streaming services makes the idea of syndication kind of out-dated since you can binge watch the whole series whenever and pretty much wherever you want, the course and duration of a show like Transparent as well as Soloway will likely be followed by several other people making TV moving forward.

If Jay and Mark are going to stick to their own rules, we can’t wait to see how they’ll make another whole season that can’t leave Room 104, takes place in one day, and has to be done in a completely different genre/style.
Renewals don’t come so easily at Netflix these days, so Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco’s Friends From College did pretty well for itself.
The series had plenty of different nuanced and complex relationships woven between “friend from college” that one has to wonder where exactly they’ll go with a second season. Maybe if this’ll end up being a more grounded Wet Hot American Summer where the cast actually plays roles that are more age appropriate and return a few years older.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
Looks like TNT will be keeping their true crime dramedy around, which, we think, might lead to a change of that “We Know Drama” that they’ve had for so many years.
There have been a lot of cancellations at Netflix lately, but you can rest a little easier knowing that Justin Simien’s Dear White People will make it through to next year.
Netflix Renews “F Is For Family” For Season 3
Bill Burr will officially get to continue to curse as patriarch of a cartoon family set in the 70s for a third season and we’re totally on board for that.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Return for a 4th Season at Netflix
If The Get Down and Sense 8 getting the ax over at Netflix had you worried about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (though with the show’s individual success, we’re confident that you probably weren’t all that worried), fret not.
A season 4 just got the greenlight at the streaming service giant and the most cheery color palate in comedy will continue for at least a couple more years.
Animals Is Getting a Third Season at HBO
Score another win for The Duplass Brothers, Starburns Industries, animated animals with human problems and, most importantly, series creators Mike Luciano and Phil Matarese.
Conan and Team Coco have secured their place at TBS for the next four years and are aiming to expand the mutli-platform outreach of Conan beyond just the talk show through the cable network.
There are no specifics on how many international trips that Conan will get to take under the banner of “Conan Without Borders” or how might Clueless Gamer grow, but we imagine that plenty of good stuff is in the works.
On the announcement of this renewal, O’Brien commented, “The TV landscape has changed dramatically since I inherited the traditional talk show format in 1993. In the past few years I’ve stumbled across many new and exciting ways of connecting with my audience, and I’m eager to evolve my show into something leaner, more agile, and more unpredictable. I also want a pony.”
NBC Renews ‘Great News’ for Second Season
Perhaps NBC has wised up and will not let another Tina Fey-Robert Carlock series get away from them.
Great News will get 13 more episodes for a second season despite ratings being a little rocky as of late.
On a day where a good majority of freshman comedies got the ax, we’re glad to see that Great News will get a chance to see if it can be worthy successor to 30 Rock and yet another great addition to the Tina Fey canon.
