Here’s The First Promo for Louie Season 4
It’s short and doesn’t reveal much, but this promo a friendly reminder that Louie is returning May 5th, just over a month from now, and you need to get ready, however you’ll do so, for that date.
It’s short and doesn’t reveal much, but this promo a friendly reminder that Louie is returning May 5th, just over a month from now, and you need to get ready, however you’ll do so, for that date.
As evidenced by this Saturday Night Live promo of Louis C.K. eschewing the normal goofiness of SNL promos for something more along the lines of his FXx show, C.K. is returning for the second time to host Saturday Night Live.
We can’t wait. 11:30PM, this Saturday, NBC.
Todd Barry’s Crowd Work Tour Comedy Special Out Mar. 22nd
Next week, Todd Barry will release his comedy special cut up from his tour where he did nothing but crowd work, appropriately titled Todd Barry’s Crowd Work Tour. The concept is simple, but amazing as we saw one night at Largo months ago. Also, note that a modern master at catching lightning in a bottle, Lance Bangs, directed it.
So, make sure you go to LouisCK.com on Mar. 22nd to pick up for, you guessed it, $5.
Louie Returns May 5 with Two Episodes a Week
The wait is almost over and it’s even going to be made better. Of course, we mean in reference to the headline. After over a year and half, Louis CK‘s Louie is returning to TV for its fourth season and you’ll get back-to-back episodes each week almost two months straight.
So make several reminders for this for May 5th 10PM on FXx.
Louis C.K. Returns to Hosting SNL Mar. 29th
The return of Louis C.K. to SNL is not only exciting to hear, but it’s timed to coincide with the return on Louie after a long hiatus this spring.
We can only wonder if there will be, like the last time he hosted, one sketch that he openly admits to not being into.
Louis C.K. To Release Todd Barry Crowd Work Tour Off His Website
We should have also mentioned that while on The Daily Show, Louis C.K. announced that The Todd Barry Crowd Work Tour will be released off a LouisCK.com in March.
January isn’t even over yet and C.K. is poised to be on top of everything again with his movie, Louie coming back, and now with releasing The Todd Barry Crowd Work Tour.
After over 15 years, Louis C.K.’s indie film Tomorrow Night is finally being released, as you’d expect, via his own website for just $5. Most movies don’t cost that much to watch and own until maybe they hit the bargain bin at Best Buy, so go ahead and buy and watch it.
If you’re wondering about the conception of this movie, C.K. talked with partial financier/Daily Show host Jon Stewart on The Daily Show about it.
Zach Galifianakis To Star In and Co-Write Louis C.K. Pilot at FX/FXx
Well, if you had to formulate to make one of the most anticipated pilots of the entire pilot season, having Zach Galifianakis team up with Louis C.K. is a really good way to it. As part of his development deal, C.K. has done just that for FX/FXx.
There are no details as what the pilot might be, which makes us think that C.K. might be playing it so close to the chest that FX/FXx might not even know.
Louis C.K., Modern Family, The Colbert Report and More Get DGA Awards TV Nominations
Along with 30 Rock, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, all the above got DGA Awards nominations for television and their respective directors.
Interesting to note: One of those Modern Family nominations is for Bryan Cranston.
Jerry Seinfeld Goes on Boat with Louis C.K. For Season 3 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is now back for its 3rd season and Jerry Seinfeld decided to kick it off with doing something never before done on the show by going on Louis C.K.’s boat and hang with Louis C.K.
Not to worry, there’s a gondola-esque car in it too. Watch the two comedy titans hang out at the link.
There aren’t really any stops that Jerry Seinfeld can’t seemingly pull for his web series Comedians in Coffee Getting Coffee, but this trailer for season 3 of the coolest hang out sessions with some of Jerry’s funniest friends might be the best yet.
Patton Oswalt gets to ride in a DeLorean, Howard Stern and Jerry almost look like they’re having an episode of Seinfeld, Tina Fey joins Jerry even though she doesn’t drive, Louis C.K. takes Jerry on his boat, and much much more.
Oh yeah, there are drones for some reason as well.
Yeah, you want to watch this right now.
Last night, Bill Burr stopped by Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and addressed an article in Rolling Stone that called him the next Louis C.K.
Watch his thoughts on that as well as everything else that’s going on because Burr is pretty great at making it all hilarious.

Well, it looks like Louis C.K. figured out how to make one of the best banner ads ever.

Louis C.K. was on Conan last night and, really, that’s all we’re going to say because you probably already stopped reading this if you read at all as it was hilarious, heartfelt, profound, and also full of so much silliness all at the same time like watching a mini-episode of Louie.
Watch parts one, two, and three now.
Creative Arts Emmys 2013 Awards Winners
Congratulations to Children’s Hospital, Louis CK, Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars, South Park, 30 Rock, The Daily Show, Portlandia, and more for picking up Creative Arts Emmys last night for the good of televised comedy.
Hopefully, one day, short form and animated series will be recognized on the big night in the normal Primetime Emmys for simply being shows as opposed to the creative arts surrounding the shows.
For Louis C.K.’s Live at the Beacon Theater, Patrice O’Neal’s Unreleased, Patrice O’Neal’s Mr. P, Maria Bamford’s The Special Special Special, Tig Notaro’s Live, Hannibal Buress’ My Name Is Hannibal, and more, you can pay what you want and decide how much of that goes to the artist, charity, and the organizers of this fantastic phenomenon, Humble Bundle.
That’s the name of their game at Humble Bundle and they have made millions for, as said above, charity, the artists, and themselves doing this for video games and are now stepping into comedy and with awesome curator Steve Feinartz (director of The Bitter Buddha), it’s one hell of a package that you could even snag for $10.
Check out their announcement video to get the whole picture and then make sure you get in on this because the offer will only be good for two weeks.
The hysterical James Adomian made one hell of a cameo on Children’s Hospital on Adult Swim in not just showing up as one impersonation of a famous person, but five people, all at the same time.
Also, you should watch this just off the idea that Louis C.K., Madonna, Rihanna, Kate Upton and Freddie Mercury are all on stage at the same time is pretty amazing. Click the link to see it.
Parks and Recreation and Louie Win at TCA Awards
It’s not surprising that Parks and Recreation and Louis CK’s Louie received another award to add to their collection from the Television Critics’ Association.
Just so we are clear, being not surprising, in this case, is a good thing.
Louis CK stopped by The Daily Show last night to promote his part in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and he’s just thankful he got to meet the guy.
Watch the interview with John Oliver here.
There Might Be a Woody Allen/Louis C.K. Buddy Comedy in The Works
We wonder if this will invent a new dynamic for the buddy comedy sub genre branching away from Crosby/Hope, Gibson/Glover, Wilson/Vaughn, or a Bullock/McCarthy chemistry.
Hopefully, we’ll get to find out if this ends up being a real movie.
Comedy Central Following Louis C.K. Model by Offering Specials Online for $5
Comedy Central is putting up stand-up specials from Anthony Jeselnik, John Mulaney, Pete Holmes, and more for only $5 online following the precedent that Louis CK has set with how he distributes his specials (this is more proof of why he’s deserving for winning a Webby Person of the Year Award).
This should be a nice treat for comedy nerds that need to round out their collections, but we wonder if this will attract casual comedy fans into more stand-up.
Comedy Winners for Critics’ Choice Television Awards
Not to be confused with the Television Critics’ Association Awards, The Critics’ Choice Television Awards were just presented and gave honors to some of our favorite shows.
Louis CK won Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Louie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Veep, The Daily Show won Best Talk Show, Archer won Best Animated Show, and, possibly the least surprising, Patton Oswalt won Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series for his wonderful role on Parks and Recreation.
Check the full list of winners at the link.
It’s almost seemed like years since Live at the Beacon Theater, yet the premiere of Louis CK’s latest stand-up special is on tonight at HBO 10PM. Organize viewing parties with friends with HBO subscriptions/get ready to see a bunch of .gifs.
Louie, Girls, D.L. Hughley and Lorne Michaels All Receive Peabody Awards
Interestingly enough, it would seem that The Peabody Awards, most of which go to documentaries and hard hitting journalists, gave comedy more of a nod than The Oscars did this year.
Yesterday, Louis CK put up his promo for his upcoming HBO special Oh My God. It’s like those honest trailers that people do for popular movies except CK has those guys beat to the punch.
