We’re just going to say that Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome do it again as Garfunkel and Oates by mixing razor sharp, satirical lyrics over comfy melodies (and a bit of musical hijinks) with this latest song and then let them take it away from here.

Echo Park’s bright, shiny, and new barbershop, American Barbershop, will not only feature all the trappings of a classic barbershop, but will also have its fair share of live comedy (FYI, this won’t be the first live comedy show that Echo Park has had in a barbershop).

Coming up, there’s Cut It Up this Friday at 10:30PM and Classic Comedy on Monday, Apr. 30th at 9PM. Both shows have stacked line-ups and are FREE.

It’s $4.99 to rent (stream for 48 hours) and $8.99 to buy.

Again, the very first comedy special from the wondrous, secretly edgy musical duo of Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, better known as Garfunkel and Oates is finally here.

Vimeo-On-Demand has just made Trying To Be Special, a comedy special that follows Riki and Kate trying to make a special, available to rent or buy.

Also, as you can see from this opening title sequence/dance number, Anthony Jeselnik is also featured.

Intrigued? More than intrigued? Already intrigued before you read any of this

(via Deadline)

Actually, it’s a comedy special centered around a live fundraising concert for making a comedy special.

Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci of Garfunkel and Oates are finally getting their first comedy special. After nearly doing everything else (albums, tours, TV series, etc.), Vimeo will be releasing a special where the duo will cleverly be doing a fundraiser that would supposedly raise the money for the special that they’ve wanted to be doing all along.

Look for Garfunkel & Oates’ Trying To Be Special to start streaming on Vimeo in May.

You might want to be in Seattle near the end of October.

With plenty of albums of subversive pop comedy hits under their belt, many would think that Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci might have already just done an hour comedy special by now.

However, that is not the case and Garfunkel and Oates are correcting that next month.

Riki and Kate will be shooting their first hour long special live at The Neptune Theatre in Seattle on Fri. Oct. 23rd at 7:30PM and 10:30PM. You can and should get tickets here, especially since there will be kazoos.

It has been quite some time since the last collection of sweetly composed, hilariously biting songs from Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome better known as Garfunkel and Oates.

However, the wait is over and their latest album, Secretions, is out now. 29/31, a song from both perspectives of a woman who is 29, then later 31, and The BJ Song, a song exploring the inner monologue of a woman while giving a ‘beej’, are two of our favorites.

Get Secretions (the album, not bodily fluid) here.

The unfortunate news that the TV series adaptation of the lives and music of Garfunkel and Oates (Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci) has come to an end at IFC after only one season.

However, Lindhome and Micucci will continue right on as Garfunkel and Oates as they tweeted out “Thank you for all the Twitter love. Sorry we won’t be bringing you any more IFC episodes but we have something exciting coming we promise…” as well as an Instagram of getting back to work and an upcoming date at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

While it’s sad to see them leave our TVs, we’re sure they’ll write a really funny, brilliant song about the whole experience.

IFC’s Development Slate Now Has a Garfunkel & Oates Pilot, Stop Motion Animation Dynasty Parody Pilot, and Much Much More

IFC announced today their latest additions to their development slate featuring 3 pilots and 8 scripts, which, from the looks of it, might make for one hell of a comedy channel.

Projects include as said above a Garfunkel and Oates pilot, scripts from Matt Besser, Rob Schrab, Megan Mullally, Chris Gethard, Tom Scharpling, Kyle Dunnigan, and more AND that stop motion animation Dynasty parody pilot featuring voice talents of Maria Bamford, Nick Kroll, Mike O’Connell, and more.

Basically, this is pretty great IFC.

Still, someone who picks Hannibal Buress, Garfunkel & Oates, and Harris Wittels as some of the hottest, up and coming comedians has an infinitely better idea about the state of comedy than an entire publication that calls comedy legend Bill Hicks underrated.
