Zach Sherwin’s Album “Rap!” Out Now From AST Records

If you’ve ever wonder how clever wording in comedy/lyrics in a rap song can get, we’d hope you know Zach Sherwin.

For years, he’s come up with rhymes so clever that he’s done entire songs analyzing a single rhyme in another rap song.

Now he’s just released his second album (his first one as Zach Sherwin instead of his former alias MC Mr. Napkins) Rap! from AST Records and you can and should pick it up here.

Watch Comedian Ryan Singer Be Plastered and a Sober Brad Gage Drive Him Safely Home

If you’ve never watched Drunk Driving with Brad Gage, it’s kind of like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee minus luxurious cars and coffee and/or breakfast/lunch plus comedians being very inebriated going home and sometimes picking up a drive-thru treat on the way.

This latest episode with Ryan Singer perfectly illustrates all of that. Watch it here.

Showtime Orders 5th Season of “Episodes”

(via Deadline)

Here’s more proof that Episodes has been flying quietly and delightfully under the radar.

Though cable comedies like Louie and Girls get way more press, Episodes on Showtime has also found its way to a fifth season. They’ve manage to do a Hollywood biz comedy starring Matt LeBlanc a la Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Comeback without imitating and coming at it from a different angle.

Look for nine episodes of Episodes in this next season and boost in its profile, probably, when Showtime launches its standalone streaming service.

Jerry Seinfeld Tells Seth Meyers He Wants a Little Less Political Correctness and Set Up in Talk Show Interviews

June 10, 2015
Uncategorized
jerry seinfeld, late night, political correctness, pre interviews, seth meyers

On last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jerry Seinfeld wasted no time in getting to pulling back the curtain on how talk show interviews are set up and his subsequent distaste for pre-interviews/artificial conversation.

He does give props to Meyers for not having notes visible on his desk.

Then, he moved on to commenting on political correctness and how he has found that it has gone too far .

Jerry makes solid points on both counts and will inevitably have people/the Internet endlessly debate and further entrench themselves in whatever side they take.

Whether you agree or disagree, it won’t keep from Jerry from joking about what he wants and avoiding talking to producers before he goes on late night talks shows.

Looks like Ted 2 won’t be the only R-rated comedy to watch for this Summer.

It was only a matter of a time before a full fledged documentary on podcasting was made.

Co-founders of the LA Podcast Festival, Chris Mancini and Graham Elwood have been put years into making Earbuds, a documentary about the ever burgeoning world of podcasting. They’ve captured how expansive and wonderfully crazy podcasters have gotten over the years as well as interviews with Marc Maron, Chris Hardwick, Jimmy Pardo, Aisha Tyler, Wil Anderson, and way more.

You can get a first look at Earbuds in the teaser over at Nerdist.com.

Marc Maron Might Have Solved The Mystery of California’s Drought

Rather than rising temperatures leaving less rainfall, Marc Maron might be on to something else that is behind the severe droughts in California that we all might be all a little ashamed to admit.

He confided his “discovery” to us all on Conan this week.

Perhaps, after, we can all be “masters of our domain” and conserve all the water we need here in California.

While you’re curiosity might be still aflutter as to what Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola have cooked up for A Very Murray Christmas, you’ll have another Murray vehicle to look forward this year in the Barry Levinson directed/Mitch Glazer written Rock The Kasbah.

Murray plays a tour manager that loses one American act while touring in Afghanistan who has to make a star out of an Afghan girl on their version of American Idol. Maybe she’ll end up singing the famous Clash song?

We’re on board for that.

Watch the trailer here and look for its release on Oct. 23rd.

A teaser for the intentionally campy Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig was just released today, which should further convince you that the movie is going to premiere on Jun. 20th.

We’re guessing that you should get ready for some of Ferrell’s best outbursts since in some time.

We’re genuinely curious if anyone is going to meet, hit it off, and end up together from going to catch Aziz on this tour.

To kick off the release next week of his book Modern Romance, his dissection of what love/dating/relationships are nowadays, Aziz Ansari will be stopping through NYC, Washington D.C., Boston, Charleston, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia from Jun. 16th-July 19th for a Modern Romance book tour.

You can get your tickets here, which include a copy of the book with the price of admission.

Seriously, it would be kind of perfect if some folks became a couple after meeting at this.

Steve Harvey and Jerry Seinfeld Dish About Comedy Classes and Getting Booed at The Apollo on “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee”

It should come as no surprise that they don’t recommend doing either.

In this latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld picks up Steve Harvey in a classic 50′s Chevy Bel-Air getting to the bottom of why Steve is so busy these days, giving advice to comedy classes, trying to cut your teeth at the infamous Apollo, getting booed at The Apollo, and being offended in comedy.

They also hop around Chicago not only to get coffee, but some tasty looking barbecue as well.

Superego Has a Winner For Their Editing-One-Nearly-40 Minute-Sketch Contest

Earlier this year, one of the funniest podcasts around, Superego, revealed the existence of a sketch about scissor repairman that they had recorded that went nearly 40 minutes known as Stetch Maldonay.

They weren’t sure what to do with it due to its unwieldy length. So, they opted to have a contest to see if any of the Superego faithful would be able to make it into something that’s fit for their high quality brand of short form audio absurdity.

Well, months after the contest was announced, they’ve found a winner in a submission from one Blake Fawley, which you can hear here.

We’ve heard it and it definitely meets Superego standards. They’ve also found some runner-up winners as well that you can listen to here.

If there’s any takeaway here, you should just be listening to any and all of Superego.

Every Bit of “The Late Show” That Was Online Has Been Taken Down By Letterman’s Worldwide Pants

Odds are you weren’t watching the entire episodes on CBS.com, but the clips that were at Dave’s YouTube channel that you were watching are also gone.

As we’ve all had ample time to watch the clips from the final month of The Late Show with David Letterman, Letterman’s company Worldwide Pants, which retained rights to The Late Show, has apparently taken down any and all content from The Late Show that was online.

We can only hope this means that a big collector’s box set is coming or that they’ll be a Letterman version of Simpsons World.

Autographed cards will be randomly placed into packs that will be released next week. Get a look at the whole of them at MLB.com.

Anyone curious like us to see if this will be astronomically valued in a few decades?

11PM on Comedy Central.

Jeff Ross not only did stand-up in front of inmates at a jail in Texas, he also roasted them as well as have them on stage without any sort of restraints and chatted with them in and around the joint.

Off of those facts alone, you should watch latest special, Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals: Live at Brazos County Jail.

Also, watching Ross roast people not because they’re infamous rather than mostly famous is very enticing.

Once again, tune in at 11PM tonight.

Seriously, Colin Quinn should be on Law & Order. It probably wouldn’t be as weird that one time Stephen Colbert was on it.

Last night, Colin Quinn took The Tonight Show stage to do stand-up and focused on living in NYC for years while Law & Order has also been shot in NYC for years and somehow not being featured in the show. If anything, Cop Show should guarantee him something, but, alas, Quinn has to settle for being one of NYC’s funniest.

Watch his set here.
