Reunion of National Lampoon’s Vacation’s Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo Closer to Happening at ABC

Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, who co-starred in all of the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, have been working on developing a project at ABC where they would again be a married couple, but, this time, would have to deal with their grandkids.

8 months ago, when the project was announced, there was no writer. Now, Brad Copeland has been set as the writer as ABC has made a script commitment to the project.

If this gets a greenlight, we wonder if there would be any crossover or recognition of the Vacation reboot with Ed Helms.

Watch Jake Johannsen Returns to Letterman For Umpteenth Time

In the world of late night, there are comedians that have mastered doing stand-up in the pinpoint, condensed style of delivering material without seeming pinpoint or condensed that most late night talk shows require. That’s part of the reason that a handful of stand-ups get to do several sets/make several apperances on several different shows.

One of those comedians is Jake Johannsen and you can see his latest appearance from this week amongst dozens over the last few decades here.

Will Ferrell Confirms There’s a Script for Zoolander 2 and Mugatu Is Returning

While Justin Theroux and Ben Stiller have hinted that a sequel to Zoolander might be on the horizon soon, it has only been hints and rumors that we might get to see Blue Steel from Zoolander’s visage once more.

However, Will Ferrell has commented in a recent interview with JoBlo that a script is indeed in place that will have a read through soon and the villainous fashion designer Mugatu that he plays is set to return in the sequel.

That still leaves plenty to be do with actually getting cameras rolling, but, for now, this is great progress where there hasn’t been any for years.

Watch Paul Scheer and Nadine Velazquez on Mexican Late Night Talk Show “Noches Con Platanito”

From 11:20-25:23 of this episode of Estrella TV’s Noches Con Platanito’s, which is, from what we can gather, a Mexican version of The Tonight Show with a host dressed up as a clown the entire time, Paul Scheer and Nadine Velazquez from The League were guests.

While Nadine speaks Spanish, Paul really doesn’t and they didn’t give him a translator. Also, apparently, they get away with a whole lot more bizarre, crazy stuff on Mexican late night than they do on American late night.

Also, you get to see Paul give an inspired lipsyncing performance of “Let It Go” from Frozen.

Watch it all here.

In a recent chat with Vulture, Jemaine Clement, after the Internet (us included) thought it might be the return of Flight of the Conchords, finally lays out what exactly he’s working on for HBO.

He and Taika Waititi, who are having a nice run with their movie What We Do In The Shadows are writing an anthology series where each episode will be completely different from each other except for the players that will be cast.

The 4 episodes that were ordered only have a script commitment and have a chance that they won’t be made.

So, now that you know that, cross your fingers that all of this comes to fruition.

Interestingly, though they’re on different networks, Daly and Kimmel have been longtime friends since their time together at the radio station KROQ here in LA.

Following the announcement of the return of Michael Che, stand-up comedian Pete Davidson, who you probably saw do stand-up on Kimmel earlier this year, is set to be the only new cast member on the 40th season of Saturday Night Live, premiering later this month.

Additionally, Michael Patrick O’Brien who was featured in the cast last year is returning this season as a writer, leaving SNL with less three less players than last year.

However, as SNL casted Sasheer Zamata midseason, don’t think that all of this is written in stone.

Adam and Naomi Scott’s Gettin’ Rad Productions are locked in to a two year first look deal that will look to develop TV shows at Universal TV.

Also, this is probably the first time a TV deal was given to a production company whose founder describes the name as “both stupid and aspirational”.

Some of the best/worst times at karaoke are when overly excited people sign up for a song only knowing the chorus of the song. Inevitably, there’s a lot of mumbling, stumbling, and overall bewilderment between choruses.

That’s exactly what Kristen Wiig and Ellen DeGeneres did with Frozen’s hit song Let It Go (you might have seen Paul Scheer lipsync it on Mexican late night earlier) by butchering it beautifully on Ellen.

Please watch and enjoy here.

Netflix Orders 2 Seasons of Judd Apatow Series “Love” Starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust

Not only has Netflix set up the return of Judd Apatow at the head of his own TV show (remember Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared?) with a nice top billing of Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust, but they’re not wasting any more time in development by ordering Love straight to series and doubling down with two seasons.

Currently, there are few details about Love other than it will explore the sort of fragile, counterintuitive relationships that Apatow loves delving into.

So, with that, Netflix must know something great that we all don’t know with two seasons ordered.
