The next week or so is turning out some nice stand-up releases. Stand Up Records has just released the second album from the very funny Geoff Tate, Just Another Clown.
If you enjoyed his first album I Got Potential like we did, you should do yourself a favor and pick up this second one.

Taking from 1964’s The Incredible Mr. Limpet that had Don Knotts turn into a fish and help hunt Nazi U-boats, director Richard Linklater is going for a remake and lining up a pretty great cast. Zach Galifianakis is attached to play Mr. Limpet, the role Knotts played, and there are no Nazis in this one.
However, Jon Hamm, Sarah Silverman, Danny McBride, Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Michael Key are all in talks to join the cast. With Linklater at the helm and this cast, this might be one of the more fascinating, possibly great remakes in a long time.
On the latest episode of Nathan For You, Nathan Fielder helps out a souvenir shop on Hollywood Blvd. boost its sales by making people think that a movie is being shot there and convincing them to actually buy gifts from that souvenir shop.
Turns out that staging a movie in order for people to buy stuff wasn’t exactly legal and Fielder had to deal with that.
The Streamy Awards Are Taking Submissions
The Streamy Awards is in its 4th year in recognizing excellence in online streaming content, given how wide and varied it is. In fact, as online video is so expansive, they will be taking submissions for nominees in addition to choosing some via panel.
Submissions are open from now until July 27th and yes, there’s a Vine Comedian category.

That’s right, a big set of Seinfeld inspired emojis will be free to download on your iPhone soon. Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer along with plenty of other iconic Seinfeld things (hopefully Newman) are included in the emoji set.

‘Homestar Runner’ Might Be Making a Comeback Later This Year
Many people these days can wax nostalgic about their teenage years when it comes to a little online cartoon known as Homestar Runner.
Well, according to its creator, it might on its way back in a few months around fall. As the Internet is a different place now from when Homestar Runner got to rule as a Flash based cartoon, there’s a little translating to figure out (i.e. social media).

While not all of these shows got Outstanding Comedy Series, it’s great to see Silicon Valley get nominations in its first season (one of them being Outstanding Comedy Series), Key & Peele get the respect it deserves, and have things like Between Two Ferns also get nominated for an Emmy.
This week’s episode of Nathan For You had Nathan Fielder attempting to boost sales at a Hollywood Blvd. souvenir shop. To accomplish that, he staged a film shoot for a movie called The Web with a Johnny Depp impersonator wherein people were invited to be extras making real purchases. Fielder later found out that unless he made a real movie, he was committing fraud.
So, what he put together was this, an actual movie with the customer extras, which is completely deserving of an Emmy. Please watch all the credits

Jim Gaffigan’s Next Book, “Food: A Love Story” Is Now on Pre-Order
If the amazing cake toppers on the book cover aren’t enough to get you to buy it, then surely the fact that Jim Gaffigan’s 2nd book is contained in the pages behind that cover should get you on board for Food: A Love Story.
It’s set to come out on Oct. 21st, but you can and should put your order in for it now.
The Coen Brothers’ latest edition to their period piece Hollywood comedy Hail, Caesar! might just be Jonah Hill and Scarlett Johansson. Both are currently in talks right now to join the cast and it comes as little surprise that the Coens could have a cast including Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum.
Potentially, Schmidt and Jenko could be in a Coen Brothers movie.
Even though we’re far off from Halloween still, NYC’s Murderfist presents a darkly twisted, hilarious sketch called The Dollmaker.
Turns out, in the real world, that creepy living dolls aren’t in high demand as this demonic dollmaker finds out the hard way. Watch it here.

Larry David Intends To Do Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm at Some Point
According to a conversation between Larry David and HBO programming president Michael Lombardo, David isn’t done with Curb Your Enthusiasm yet. However, a new season won’t be happening in 2014.
We’re not sure exactly what he’s waiting for, but like HBO, we’ll all be ready and waiting for more Curb.
You might have seen the very funny Michelle Wolf on Late Night Seth Meyers already as a bit player, but, last night, she got to take that stage for the first time as a stand-up comedian.

Jon Daly Joins in on Jared Hess Armored Car Heist Comedy
So far, Jared Hess had managed to gather Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, and Kate McKinnon for his heist comedy. Now, Hess continues to round out this cast with amazing people by adding Jon Daly.
Slated to come out just over a year from now, this could be the action comedy of the Summer.
College Humor does a third installment of “if Google was a guy” with Brian Huskey as the “guy” and shows that interacting with Siri is just as frustrating on Google’s end as it is ours. Also, Google as a person must have a high tolerance for being aggravated.
A Musical About Stand Up Comedy Will Feature Actual Stand Up Comedians
New York City will be the place where HA! The Musical, a musical about stand-up comedy, first takes the stage. While one might be skeptical of this, please note that comedians Christian Finnegan, Big Jay Oakerson, Shawn Pearlman, Casey Balsham, and more are already part of HA! The Musical.
The limited run of HA! starts in August and this cast definitely has us more than intrigued.
