The name Tond should clue you in the wry, existential humor that flows through every frame of this short film.

Kelly Hudson wrote, starred in, and edited it and plays a lonesome old man named Tond looking for someone, anyone to connect with. The result is pretty wonderful and, we’re betting, will make you feel less alone in the universe. Josh Ruben and Vincent Peone direct and it’s another great offering from JASH via go90.

So, without further adieu, watch Tond here.

It’s Doug’s first special shot in Bisbee, AZ, where Doug currently lives, which should clue you in on his personal he wanted to be with this brand new hour.

You can see for yourself how personal he gets in this clip where he talks about the state of mental health care in this country through the perspective of his girlfriend Bingo.

This set on last night’s Conan shows this off perfectly as well as include some very rare, but great riffing in the middle of a late night set.

Please watch and enjoy it here.

‘SNL’ Hires Seven New Writers for Season 42

Zack Bornstein, Anna Drezen, BriTANick (Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher), Joanna Bradley, Julio Torres, and Kristen Bartlett will be the seven new writers for season 42 of SNL.

With this new row of writers, we hope, based on their previous works including Reductress and any Britanick sketch that SNL gets weirder and more feminist.

As part of making the rounds for his off-Broadway show, Career Suicide, Chris Gethard got to come on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Sadness and laughing about it threads through the interview while talking about Gethard’s Chris Gethard Show and this new solo show.

Also, it turns out Colbert and Gethard share in, albeit from different angles, one important, very specific sort of anxiety.

Watch the interview here.

Still, Lewis Black offers such a rational explanation as to why we all should move on from the nonsense that is Trump during his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night.

Whether you’re a Pats fan or not, this is still worthy of you watching, a round of applause, and a few bucks towards the Testicular Cancer Society.

Woody Allen’s latest work, Crisis in Six Scenes, should prove to be one of Amazon’s biggest gets yet.

What the series is and what it’s about has been largely kept under wraps until today when the trailer was released.

Continuing his fondness for stories of the past, Allen puts himself in the midst of the social upheaval of the 1960s, which will undoubtedly invite parallel comparisons to the social upheaval of today.

Watch the trailer here, then look for the series to start streaming on Friday, September 30th.

TruTV Greenlights 3rd Original Scripted Series “I’m Sorry” from Andrea Savage

Do you even remember that TruTV used to deal in reality TV exclusively? Given how well their rebrand has gone, we’re guessing probably not.

TruTV’s progress as a comedy channel seemingly continues to go well as they have ordered a new sitcom from Andrea Savage (Episodes, Hotwives) that follows her actual life. It’s called I’m Sorry and slated for a 2017 premiere and has the likes of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, as well as Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer all as EPs in addition to Savage.

With Better Things, looks like female led sitcoms on cable based on the lives of real comedic actresses might become a trend.

Noted fashion house Kenzo has been making plenty of right moves lately and making their brand seem even cooler than it already is. They had a really great Spike Jonze music video and now, they have a short film by Carrie Brownstein.

Called The Realest Real, it skewers social media in a Portlandia-esque way if you set Portlandia in the dystopian future of a nameless city. Also, Natasha Lyonne plays a pretty great role in it.

Kurt Braunohler Is Now Documenting His Writing Process with Oblique Strategies

It’s rare that you’ll get a comedian at Kurt’s level to let you into their creative process so intimately, but, then again, that’s an integral part of what makes Kurt Braunohler so great.

Kurt has gotten Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt’s famous box of cards known as Oblique Strategies that serve as ways to push creative thinking and inspiration and has opted to share his writing that comes from each card on a blog.

So far, he’s only a couple of days in, but it’s kind of an unprecedented and fascinating look into how Kurt’s thought process leading up to how he twists things, observations, experiences, etc. into humor and jokes even before they’re presented in their rawest, live form on stage.

While this is Kurt’s process and possibly Kurt’s process only, you might just be able to catch a glimpse of how comedic notions come into being.
