Adam Pally and Yassir Lester begin messing with the human timeline tonight with the series premiere of Making History on Fox at 8:30PM.

By the way, we have a feeling that Pally and Lester might give Bill and Ted a run for their money as far as time traveling comedies go.

With this latest creation from Julius Sharpe and executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Fox is, show by show, continuing to be the home of network high concept sitcoms.

It’s Only March, But Jackie Kashian’s New Album “I Am Not The Hero of This Story” Might Be Our Favorite Album of 2017

Jackie Kashian’s latest hour of stand-up, I Am Not the Hero of This Story, is wire-to-wire fantastic. It’s a culmination of Jackie being mastered at all the skills of stand-up comedy including writing, personal voice, delivery, presence, timing, etc. and then focusing in on the zeitgeist from an incredibly personal and human perspective.

As much as it had us slapping our knees laughing through some really dark passages (including a chunk about the Armenian Genocide), this latest album has a very sincere air of hope, making it something really special.

Here’s a taste of the album.

I Am Not the Hero of This Story is out now from Stand Up! Records and you can get it off of iTunes.

Even though he won’t be on a jet ski going down the Mississippi River or leading an impromptu second line through the streets of DTLA, we still urge you to watch Kurt Braunohler’s first hour special Trust Me on Comedy Central tonight at midnight.

It’s just Kurt doing stand-up, but it’s still pretty damn great. See for yourself in this clip.

Angie Tribeca, coming up to its 3rd season at TBS, stands as a beacon of pure, uncut silliness taken to the nth degree.

For that, we should all be thankful that there is a place on TV where goofy is executed so well.

This season 3 trailer promises even more of that clever rambunctiousness.

Look for the season 3 premiere of Angie Tribeca on April 10th on TBS.

A Weekly Jim Jefferies Late Night Show Will Premiere on Comedy Central This Summer

Jim Jefferies, who has always been an unfiltered comedian that dives head first into touchy subjects, is now getting a weekly late night show on Comedy Central where he can offer his take on the insanity that’s going on that week.

Jefferies’ recent Netflix special got a lot of attention for his bit on gun control and Jim also made headlines when he told Piers Morgan to “f*ck off” on Real Time with Bill Maher.

There aren’t any specifics on the format (or even an title), but we hope that Jefferies allows for plenty of debate on his show.

Judge Aaron Persky is the judge who infamously handled the Brock Turner rape case.

This show, happening tomorrow at El Cid in Silverlake, is an awesome comedy benefit to raise funds to get him on the ballot in order to get him recalled (as opposed to him just getting running opposed for several more years).

Along with a great show featuring the comedy stylings of Ever Mainard, Maggie Maye, Janine Brito, Mara Wilson, and more, there will be a raffle prizes and F*ck Rape Culture merch.

You can get (and should) get your tickets here.

Indeed, this is not Myq Kaplan’s first “rodeo” doing stand-up on The Late late Show.

As Myq himself has said, the molecules have moved and the host is different this time around. Myq also does another bang-up job like he did in previous appearances on a set that had much more wood accents and a host from a different part of the Commonwealth.

Watch and enjoy it here. Also, you should get his album No Kidding too.

Steve Martin To Teach Comedy Through Masterclass

Online education’s latest big hit Masterclass has made a lot of headway into online education by nabbing folks like Aaron Sorkin and Werner Herzog to give an extensive video lecture series on their areas of expertise.

Undeniable living comedy legend Steve Martin will join in and give his own “masterclass” in the form of over 25 video lectures that hit every area of comedy that Martin can possibly hit.

The course will be available starting this Spring and cost $90. Get a preview of what that $90 will get you here.

Martin probably still won’t make a big return to stand-up, but it might be worth it to hear him talk about it for several hours.

Both Upcoming Dave Chappelle Specials Will Drop at Netflix at the Same Time

Remember, Dave Chappelle hasn’t released a stand-up special since 2004.

Sure, there’s plenty of stuff that he has done since then, but that gap in time contrasts sharply with many of comedy’s current biggest names cranking specials every year or so.

So, maybe, to make up for lost time, the two specials that Netflix ordered from Dave Chappelle will start streaming at the same time, Tuesday, March 21st and they’ll be coming from “his personal comedy vault”.

See for yourself in the teaser that not one, but two Chappelle specials are just a few weeks away.

YouTube Announces Live TV Streaming Service, YouTube TV

YouTube Announces Live TV Streaming Service, YouTube TV

Watching live TV on your laptop was inevitable and, from the looks of it, the time for that innovation is here. For comedy, that could start to make a much clearer bridge between web content and television.

YouTube will be offering up a skinny bundle of channels that can be watched live or DVR’d including major broadcast networks as well as prestige networks like FX allowing you to watch Atlanta or Baskets live. However, they’re missing such necessary channels like HBO. Also, they will only to be initially offer up YouTube TV in major markets.

This is a step in the right direction, but there is still a lot of ground to cover by combining live television and streaming services. Whoever can figure out a well priced bundle that includes live TV networks and access to the big streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu) so you can watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Veep, Broad City, and Catastrophe wherever and whenever might just have the keys to the web/TV kingdom.

When that happens, the playing field might be even more level than it is now and highly respected web series might start to be seen in the same regard as highly praised half hour sitcoms. Shows like High Maintenance are obviously ahead of the curve here.

Donald Trump Faux Memoir Being Written with Audiobook That Will Feature Alec Baldwin

The title “You Can’t Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump"  is, as the POTUS would put it, tremendous.

Novelist Kurt Andersen, who also was a co-founder of Spy Magazine, will write the fake memoir for Penguin Press and an accompanying audiobook will feature SNL’s Trump, Alec Baldwin. They’re currently looking towards a November release date.

We’re curious to see if Alec has to put on a power tie that’s way too long, don a bad wig, and contort his face for the entire duration of the audiobook recording just to stay in character.

Watching comedians perform, you might think that they’re such succinct observers of the world around them that probably know a little more than just a thing or two.

This new show “Experts” (Note: the quotation marks are intentionally part of the title and suggest an air of sarcasm) will put comedians and their knowledge to the test via a completely factual multimedia presentation on a topic.

This first show has an amazing line-up that could make anything they talk about entertaining, but will focus in on a topic they feel that they’re an “expert” in. With Guy Branum, we’d guess it be Canada.

“Experts” will kick off next week at UCB Sunset. Tickets are $7 and you can (and should) get them here.

Just announced today, SF will be getting another giant comedy festival in the summertime, specifically June 2nd-4th, brought to you by Comedy Central.

The first ever Clusterfest has a gigantic line-up of the sort proportions and depth that Comedy Central can summon. It’s also the flip of most big time music and arts festival in that it’s mostly comedy with a bit of music as opposed to there being a comedy tent and lots and lots and lots of music a la Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, etc. (Note: producers of both those festivals are involved here). See the line-up below or in this glitterbomb filled announcement video here.

Tickets/passes go on sale this Thursday, March 2nd here. They range from $199.50 earlybird pass-$599.50 VIP Pass.

Luckily, he probably can pop in almost any show of the Daily Show alums.

Also, don’t forget that Jon is supposed to have an animated HBO show coming sometime this year.

For years, Carmen Lynch has carefully honed her brand of comedy that’s both a bit bubbly and a tad dark, but charming all the way through.

Her very first release, Dance Like You Don’t Need The Money captures that spirit that many have only gotten to see in small chunks for her various late night sets that she has racked up over the years. Throughout the hour, Carmen balances all her bits dealing with being personal, open, and honest about things including vaginas and giraffes with a jaunty wit.

Jimmy Kimmel Works In His Ongoing Feud with Matt Damon Into The Oscars

One of the best ongoing feuds in Hollywood, even though it’s a bit, is the long running, embittered grudge held by Jimmy Kimmel over Matt Damon. It’s a rare narrative thread that runs through the hundreds and hundreds of episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

So, it really wouldn’t be Jimmy hosting the Oscars be without an extended dig at Matt both in his opening monologue and in a dedicated remote segment.

Maybe Jimmy and Matt will give FX’s Feud a run for their money?
