Jack Burditt/Tina Fey/Robert Carlock Retired Athlete Multicam Sitcom in Development at CBS

(via Deadline)

Now, both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have shows being developed at multiple networks.

Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Little Stranger not only have a project set up at NBC, but they have Jack Burditt’s project following a recently retired athlete who becomes difficult as a result of being retired.

Just imagine if all of Little Stranger and Paper Kite’s new projects to series and how much of television a Fey/Carlock/Poehler triumvirate would be running. It would be a lot and that just might be a good thing.

Another one of the crazy games concocted for this season of Billy on the Street was thought up specifically for Tina Fey. In fact, it has her name in it.

LaTina Fey has Tina Fey try to name twenty latino entertainers in the allotted time with, of course, Billy Eichner screaming at her side.

Watch if Tina pulls it off, then watch the new season of Billy on the Street on Thurs. Oct. 8th on truTV.

NBC Orders New Comedies From Mike Schur, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock

The prodigal network returns to its best comedy showrunners with ideas that are adjacent to Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. It’s about time that happened.

NBC has really focused in on dramas leaving comedies by the wayside as of late. With their new comedy slate announced today, they’re hoping to change that.

Mike Schur, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the minds behind the aforementioned, Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock, some of NBC’s most decorated comedies in recent memory, have gotten new life at the network.

NBC ordered Schur’s The Good Place that will focus on a woman contending with what being good really entails and a pilot from Fey and Carlock that will follow a mother and her daughter as they work at a cable news network with the mother as an intern.

We sincerely hope that this is the shot in the arm that NBC comedy needs and that’ll play out even better than the series that Schur, Fey, and Carlock brought to the peacock.

Throwing a party as one last hurrah has been the premise for many a comedy movie, but Sisters, from SNL’s Paula Pell and Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore, has one of America’s favorite comedy duos, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, presiding over the over-the-top festivities this time around.

Though they’ve finished with hosting The Golden Globes, you’ll be able to watch Fey and Poehler together again on Dec. 18th thrash a house with their party.

Watch the trailer here, then look for it in theaters this holiday season on Dec. 18th.

You know the drill by now. Shut up and take our money.

The upcoming San Diego Comic-Con will have exclusive action figures of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in suits as they were when they co-anchored Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update.

It’ll come complete with The Weekend Update desk, so you can inevitably have a desk on your desk as these action figures will probably mostly be on display at either your home or work office.

Be sure to pick up one if you’re at SDCC this year.

Letterman Does “Top Ten Things I’ve Always Wanted To Say To David Letterman” and Says His Final Goodbye to “The Late Show”

After over a month of tributes and farewells, David Letterman kept his send-off relatively short and sweet.

There was a star-studded Top Ten List of Things I’ve Always Wanted To Say To David Letterman that included Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Peyton Manning, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jim Carrey, as well as a special performance of “Everlong” by The Foo Fighters.

There was also a nice opening bit from various Presidents.

Outside of that, Dave respectfully spent much his time delving into nostalgia and thanking all of the folks that have been a part of his show over 30 years.

There was even a “day in the life” montage of what Dave goes through with his staff.

With over 30 years and 6000+ shows logged, it’s amazing that Letterman is still self-deprecating in his final remarks.

Just like that, just a little past midnight last night. The Late Show with David Letterman and an entire era of comedy comes to a close.

You can watch the entire finale here.

Of course, Dave also made sure to send his best wishes to the new guy, Stephen Colbert.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a countdown going for Sept. 8th?

Having Done Her Last Letterman Appearance, Tina Fey Is Done With Fancy Dresses

It’s as almost if Letterman’s final episode is a month long.

Tina Fey let everyone in on what exactly goes into fitting into a fancy dress that women often wear on late night or to awards shows and how she’s not the biggest fan of the whole process.

So, with that in mind, Tina declared that she will no longer be dressing up for any other late night hosts and only did so for Dave out of respect.

In fact, she even gave him her final dress.

Watch it here.

Good call on the season 4 renewal, Comedy Central.

Season 3 of Inside Amy Schumer premiered last night and is in as great a form as it’s ever been.

The parody of Friday Night Lights that also serves as a subtle PSA about rape in football and Tina Fey, Patricia Arquette, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus meeting in honor of a Last F’able Day will show exactly what we’re talking about.

After over 3 decades on late night, David Letterman has 28 episodes left of The Late Show left concluding on May 20th and has made sure the last set of guests is a cavalcade of the show’s most memorable, big names.

Thus far, Letterman has “George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr., Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Jack Hanna, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Keaton, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Paul Rudd, Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Short, Howard Stern, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons, Ralph Stanley and Amos Lee, and many more names to be announced in the coming weeks.” for his final few weeks at The Late Show.

We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Bill Murray was the final guest as he was Letterman’s very first guest.

The SNL 40th Anniversary Special Brings Back “Celebrity Jeopardy”, Got 23 Million People Watching, and Is Perfect Boost For SNL App

The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special was the gigantic, nostalgic whirlwind of a walk down Studio 8H that we were led to believe it was.

Cast members, hosts, writers, etc. from the show in 1975 until now were in attendance to pay homage to SNL not only as a show, but a cultural institution.

There was a big ol’ musical revue kicked off by Martin Short and Maya Rudolph as Beyonce, Weekend Update anchored by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jane Curtin, a touching In Memoriam tribute (that also has a pretty great burn at the end), and rare glimpses into auditions of SNL cast members as well as some folks that should have been cast members like Stephen Colbert.

Also, SNL’s Celebrity Jeopardy lived once more, complete with Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery and Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds,  and was every bit as glorious during its run in the late 90’s through the 2000s.

It should come as no surprise that this special scored a record 23 million viewers from last night (via Variety) and will probably have millions watching several of the clips over at Hulu and YouTube.

With all of the reminiscing of seasons past, it’s perfect timing on SNL’s part to push their SNL app that gives access to thousands of clips from the past 40 seasons.

If you didn’t catch the special last night, hopefully you’ll have today off to catch up.

ABC Orders Pilots For Fortune Feimster and Jermaine Fowler Comedies

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

The pilot season is ramping up and networks are really trying to figure out their new game plan with comedy, especially after last season’s cancellation bloodbath.

Having them make it out of development, we think ABC is doing well to move forward with the semi-autobiographical sitcoms based on the lives of Fortune Feimster and Jermaine Fowler. Respectively, they’re called Family Fortune and Delores and Jermaine.

They’ll be two in a crowded field of several pilots that are now in contention at ABC. Both pilots are multi-camera projects and we can only hope that they steer clear of what happened to Mulaney.

Keep in mind, Netflix already has two seasons of this ordered, something that networks almost wouldn’t think of doing these days. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is set for release on Mar. 6th.

The Antics of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig Make Golden Globes Worth Watching

Last night’s Golden Globes was the third and last time that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the ceremony and they did not disappoint. Their monologue had all their jokes and bits hit so well, as you’d expect for the room and over the telecast. They also didn’t shy away from the Bill Cosby jokes they said they were going to, an incredibly bold move for an awards show monologue.

This makes us think that they’re idea that this would be the last Golden Globes one worth entertaining.

However, it would also be worth entertaining the presenter segment with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. Come to think of it, they would be a pretty great hosting duo as well, wouldn’t they? #GoldenGlobesSeason2?

Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” Moves From NBC to Netflix

It shouldn’t be surprising that another network lets go of another sitcom on their programming schedule these days, but, in the case of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock starring Ellie Kemper, the show hadn’t even premiered yet.

Still, going with network trends towards drama, NBC is letting go of the series to Netflix where it has two seasons ordered as well as an expanded episode order for its first season. NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt even admits, “While it was originally developed for NBC, we have a very drama-heavy midseason schedule, so we’re thrilled about this Netflix opportunity.”

So, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be another thing to watch for on Netflix like a bunch of other series that you’re probably streaming right now while reading this sentence.

2015 Might Be The Last Time Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Host the Golden Globes

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

This January, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will have taken the stage at The Golden Globes as the evening’s host for the third time. According to Poehler in a recent interview on The Today Show, she’s leaning towards the idea of it be the duo’s last go around for the gig as she’s worried that it might be going “downhill” if she continues.

The two have been the best hosts of an awards show in quite some time and it would be sad for them to stop. Still, just because she and Tina won’t host The Golden Globes again, doesn’t mean they couldn’t host any number of other awards shows including The Oscars, Emmys, MTV Movie Awards, etc. etc.

Let’s hope that happens.

Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman, Tina Fey sat down and chatted with Dave about the havoc that her youngest daughter is currently wreaking. Fey also discussed a fool proof plan for nude photos in the event that they were stolen from her and leaked to the Internet.

On top of all of that, she found out that the movie that her and Amy Poehler are starring in, The Nest, might be going up against Star Wars Episode VII in theaters next Christmas.

Needless to say, Fey isn’t worried about it all about handling her crazed daughter, taking down Star Wars on opening weekend and outsmarting celebrity photo thieves.

Maya Rudolph Is Now Joining Her Pals Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in The Nest

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler making a movie together is already exciting enough news, which makes Universal’s The Nest an already highly anticipated comedy.

Now that they’re former SNL cast mate Maya Rudolph has been added to the cast, The Nest will possibly be more fun when it’s already seeming that it will be a wire-to-wire fun movie. We wouldn’t be surprised if the cast for this will keep getting better and better.

Jane Krakowski Joins Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Jane Krakowski joins up with Tina Fey again in her and Robert Carlock’s series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt over at NBC. Ellie Kemper is set to topline as a former cult member with Jane Krakowski playing a mother who hires her as a nanny, but we’re excited at the prospect of Fey and Krakowski having a sort-of real life version of the Lemon-Maroney dynamic they had on 30 Rock.

We’re sure there will be plenty of side-by-side memes between this and 30 Rock when we get to see a teaser, etc.
