The final episode of The Colbert Report will air 11:30PM on Comedy Central with “Grimmy” more commonly known as The Grim Reaper.

Conan O’Brien’s “Conan To Go” special where some of the best remote segments over the years are all put together into one will air at 10PM on TBS.

We’re just giving you an update on what you’ll be doing this evening.

You don’t have to even DVR one or the other in order to end up watching both. Also, FYI, Comedy Central is airing a Colbert marathon today so you can further ditch whatever it is you were doing right now.

Jason Bateman on How He Would Host a Talk Show, Kids, and Will Arnett

Jason Bateman is always a good late night guest with his stories, quips, reactions, etc. His panel interview from Conan this week is a perfect example.

Going through dealing with kids, how horrific a talk show would be for him to want to host it, and addressing the “bromance” with Will Arnett, Bateman showcases why Conan O’Brien asked him about talk show hosting.

Conan Explores What You Would Do With a 10 Second Earthquake Warning App

If you live in Southern California, you probably have the ever present fear of a big earthquake looming in your psyche. While there has been an app that could possibly detect and warn you of an earthquake, it could only supposedly give you a 10-second warning.

What can you do with that 10 seconds?

Don’t answer or think about it. Let Conan O’Brien and company do that for you because their answer is probably way more entertaining yours.

Finally, Conan O’Brien’s Remote Segments Are Getting Their Own Primetime Special

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Almost a year ago, we wrote a piece about how Conan O’Brien’s remote segments throughout his tenure as a late night host are some of the funniest things to be done on TV and there should be an entire show dedicated to just that. That includes Conan visiting places around the world, dealing with Jordan Schlansky, Clueless Gamer, and more.

Well, it just so turns out that we spoke something into the ether (along with millions of other people most likely) and TBS will air an entire primetime special on Thurs. Dec. 18th at 10PM of the best of these remotes.

We don’t believe in the power of attraction necessarily, but this special happening doesn’t help our case.

Allen Strickland Williams has been working his way through the LA scene for more than a few years now and all his work has just paid off. Last night saw Allen’s late night stand-up debut on Conan.

Give it a watch and, if you’re into this sort of thing, count the applause breaks because there’s plenty to count.

TBS, Adult Swim, and truTV Get a New Chairman in Kevin Reilly

Turner Broadcasting has officially hired the new president of TBS and TNT as well as the Chief Creative Officer in Kevin Reilly formerly a head of Fox and NBC.

In addition to being put as head honcho at TBS and TNT, he’ll be the chair of the Turner Entertainment Programming Council that will specifically overseeing senior executives at TBS, Adult Swim, and truTV, which are three comedy focused networks.

We’re not sure what Reilly will do, but given his disgust with the same day ratings and the concept of pilot season, we’re excited to see what direction he’ll take everything mentioned above.

Jason Jones and Samantha Bee’s “Vacation Time” Gets Pilot Order From TBS

The Daily Show continues to be a great tree that TV, film, etc. can pick from. John Oliver is killing it at on his own program, Last Week Tonight, Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater is on the horizon as is Aasif Mandvi’s book No Land’s Man.

Now, added to that mix, are current Daily Show correspondents Jason Jones and Samantha Bee and their family vacation comedy “Vacation Time” that just got a pilot order from TBS.

Jones is set to star and we’re completely on board for a National Lampoon’s Vacation-esque series from Jones and Bee.

High Concept Comedies Are in Style Ahead of This Pilot Season

There are indeed plenty of semi-autobiographical comedies in development, especially with the success of freshman series Cristela at ABC.

However, at the other end of the TV comedy development spectrum, at this time, is a bunch of high concept comedies that steer clear of the fish-out-of-water in a small (or big pond) dynamic. Conspiracy theories, witches, and, highest concept of all, Vine stars, and more are all subjects for comedy projects that are being worked for TV across several networks.

Specifically, TBS has ordered a sort of Lost parody from Justin and Jordan Shipley, DirecTV has ordered a parody reminiscent of Downton Abbey that will star Peter Serafinowicz and Will Sasso from College Humor’s Big Breakfast, Elizabeth Banks is set to produce and direct a workplace conspiracy theory comedy from Caroline Williams at ABC, 30 Rock’s Josh Siegal and Dylan Morgan are writing a witch comedy at NBC, Nick Frost is set to star in a comedy as an ex-jewel thief that’s having trouble getting out of the jewel thief business also at ABC, and Rainn Wilson is developing a series following stars (minus Curtis Lepore due to Internet outrage at his rape charge that he plead down to an assault charge) on the six second movie platform Vine trying to make it in the traditional half hour format.

There’s no telling where these will end up, if anywhere at all, but it’s a good sign to see more comedy series in the works that aren’t how two people met and fell in love or how an abnormally configured family figures out how to be a family.

Last year, Dan St. Germain did stand-up on Conan for the first time without a shirt and tie and it was pretty great.

For this second appearance on Conan, Dan donned an entire suit and absolutely made sure to comment how it doesn’t necessarily fit his particular brand joie de vivre and it went even better.

Tonight’s Conan Will Be a “Scrapisode” Made Up Entirely of Show Rehearsals

If you’ve followed Team Coco online, you’ve probably gotten a chance to see some rehearsal footage where Conan O’Brien and company really play fast and loose. It’s a whole bunch of fun seeing Conan at the helm, wearing his guitar rather than a tailored suit.

Well, the entire episode of Conan tonight will be all cut together from that very same crazy rehearsal footage to make a “scrapisode”. It’s yet another first by Conan O’Brien that should be pretty great like his stop motion animation episode or Occupy Conan.

Check it out tonight at TBS 11PM.

With the addition of Emily Heller to the cast, TBS’ Ground Floor will know have two absolutely hilarious comedians on the show as regulars. Heller joins Rory Scovel for Ground Floor’s second season as a socially awkward business wunderkind. Joining the cast also marks a move up for Emily who used to write for another Bill Lawrence show, Surviving Jack.

We’re glad to see that Ground Floor EP Bill Lawrence has pretty great taste when it comes to stand-ups.

Conan and Team Coco Making Its Way Finally to the UK

Unlike in Sweden where Conan O’Brien has been hailed a hero for his comedic stylings and bearing a resemblance to a prime minister of the country, Conan, along with a lot of late night talk shows here in the U.S., haven’t made a big splash in the UK.

Fortunately, that’s all about to change as episodes of Conan on TBS will now be broadcast in the UK via TruTV.

This makes us wonder if folks across the pond are even aware of Conan’s String Dance, the Masturbating Bear, or Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. If not, they’re in for a real treat.

Conan O’Brien’s latest remote segment focuses on what all the fuss is about about the dating app known as Tinder. Conan enlists the help of actor Dave Franco to navigate through Tinder and, of course, the results, unlike all those times you watch your friends on Tinder, are worth watching.

If anything, they use a sweet ride to pick up a Tinder date. Watch it all here.

An Open Letter on The Cancellation of The Pete Holmes Show from “Petey Pants” Pete Holmes

Hearing that TBS was canceling The Pete Holmes Show kind of blindsided us.

While we’re still processing it and how this changes the state of late night, Pete Holmes himself had some encouraging words, at the link, for any and all about the opportunity he got to host his own talk show.

TBS Cancels The Pete Holmes Show After Two Cycles

Unable to convince TBS that enough people were watching with Conan as a lead-in, TBS has decided to cancel The Pete Holmes Show. The last episode will air on June 19th and there’s no word as to whether there will be another late night show or possibly something else to follow Conan on weeknights.

Though this is a living wake of sorts, RIP The Pete Holmes Show.

TBS Extends Conan O’Brien Through 2018

All the networks that have late night programming are anteing up with their respective late night shows as the end of the year will see a huge uprooting with Stephen Colbert leaving Comedy Central to replace David Letterman, Larry Wilmore replacing Colbert, and Ferguson leaving altogether.

TBS made the smart move and re-upped Conan O’Brien and his show Conan all the way through 2018.

TBS Orders Steve Carell’s Police Comedy ‘Angie Tribeca’ Starring Rashida Jones

We were wondering what happened with this pilot formerly known as Tribeca because, just from the folks involved Steve and Nany Carell as well as Rashida Jones and the spare details available, it still sounded pretty great.

Angie Tribeca is set for a ten episode run at TBS next year.

Tonight’s Episode of Conan Has Jeff Garlin, Andy Daly, and Todd Barry

It’s rare that a late night talk show these days has a line-up full of comedians, almost similar to how long it takes for planets to align.

Yet, tonight’s Conan on TBS features, as mentioned above, Jeff Garlin, Andy Daly, and Todd Barry all in the same hour. In short, it should be a whole bunch of fun on top of the whole bunch of fun that Conan already is.

Don’t miss it. TBS 11PM.

The best part of this is that you won’t have to miss either if you’re watching it live on TV as The Pete Holmes Show is on TBS at 12AM (and is only a half hour) and Late Night with Seth Meyers premieres at 12:35AM on NBC.
