Turner did their Upfronts presentation today and unveiled a teaser for their new scripted series at TBS, People of Earth.

While time travel seems to be a big trend this time around, People of Earth is a high concept comedy that follows a support group of alien abduction survivors and their latest member played by Wyatt Cenac.

Get a look of what TBS has cooked up with the teaser here.

Full Frontal and Samantha Bee Shine a Light on The Unfortunate Millionaires That Get ‘Taken to the Cleaners’ by Super PACs

Last night, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee delves into a rarely talked about side of Super PACs: the donors.

Many are on board for the idea that Super PACs are one of the leading problems in politics, but few take the time to go to learn about one of the literal sources of those said Super PACs.

Samantha Bee actually sat down with one of the most unfortunate Super PAC donors and learned of his plight in another great remote segment. Watch it here.

Samantha Bee and Patton Oswalt Take an Orson-Welles-F-For-Fake Angle When Discussing the Hoax That Is Crisis Pregnancy Centers

We’re not exactly sure who on the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee writing staff is or are cineaste(s), but we really dig what they’re doing. Already, they’ve made a great Werner Herzog style piece on Jeb Bush.

Their latest piece sharply debunks “Crisis Pregnancy Centers”, which falsely parade around as places that you might be able to get an abortion. That got cleverly framed around a riff on Orson Welles’ fantastic meta-documentary about grifters, F For Fake.

On top of that, they got one the biggest cineastes of them all, Patton Oswalt, to play Welles’ role.

Watch it all here.

TBS Orders Pilot for a Rob Riggle Late Night Sports Talk Show

TBS seems to be doing well to have open arms for ex-Daily Show correspondents.

Potentially, Rob Riggle could be joining Jason Jones and Samantha Bee on TBS with his very own show that would take the sports angle in a weekly late night talk show.

Also, as another welcome change of pace, the show would take place in Las Vegas, which should provide a fun backdrop for plenty of remote segments.

There’s potential here as there is currently only one other show to really figure out the balance of late night, sports, and comedy: Garbage Time with Katie Nolan.

You have plenty of time between now and then to get in the mood for perfectly crafted police procedural silliness.

Angie Tribeca, the show that lead off the new and improved TBS, is returning for its second season this summer on Monday, June 6th. Lucky for you that is also the same night that Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is on too.

Here’s Your First Look at TBS’ Desert Island Comedy “Wrecked” Premiering June 14th

Will it be a more absurd, funnier version of Lost? Perhaps a darker, but more comedic version of Lord of the Flies with more diverse adults? Maybe a comedy version of Alive set on a remote island?

TBS’ new comedy Wrecked, which pits survivors of a plane crash to live on said remote island may be any one of those things as you can see from this great, mayhem-filled teaser.

It might be something else altogether (perhaps even better than those educated guesses), but we’ll all have to wait until the series premiere on Tuesday, June 14th at 10PM on TBS to find out.

Samantha Bee Proves That It’s Harder to Buy a Costume for the NRA’s Mascot Eddie Eagle Than It Is to Buy Several Guns

On last night’s Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Samantha discovered that there is more bureaucratic red tape to get a costume for Eddie Eagle, the NRA’s mascot used to educate children about gun safety, than there is to buy a handgun, rifle, or shotgun in several states.

It’s just more of the Lord’s work being done by Bee and her Full Frontal staff.

9PM on TBS.

Though not back to back, real life comedy power couple Jason Jones and Samantha Bee will have their own shows on the same network on the same night.

The Detour, which they both created and Jones stars in, kicks off its maelstrom of a family vacation tonight on TBS. So, it might be worth just tuning in to TBS for a night of The Detour, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and Conan.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Angie Tribeca seems to be off and running quite well, so TBS is now setting its sights to launching its latest series, The Detour from Daily Show alums and comedy power couple Jason Jones and Samantha Bee.

For starters, the network is starting off nicely by putting the entire pilot on YouTube before the premiere next week.

If that gets you hooked, catch the premiere at 9PM on Monday, April 11th on TBS.

Smart move, TBS.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee hit the ground running as the latest addition to the late night world. Bee’s take-no-prisoners humor that breaks down current issues every week has garnered a solid viewership, especially online (as we’re sure you’ve seen the clips or gif set of her segments posted several places in your social media feeds).

So, TBS has picked up Full Frontal to the end of the year.

That will continue the great Sun-Mon. Daily Show with Jon Stewart alum combo of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee that we’ve all got to enjoy.

You’ve only got to wait a week to see what Conan O’Brien was exactly doing with a pet octopus.

The latest Conan trip special, Conan in South Korea, will be premiering on Saturday, April 9th, outside of Conan’s typical Mon.-Thurs. schedule, on TBS.

Conan did indeed have a pet octopus and was in a K-Pop music video amongst other things, which will all make for another unforgettable set of hijinks when O’Brien gets let out of the studio to do these sort of specials.

The latest episode of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee might be one of the best yet as Samantha Bee was as sharp and merciless as she has ever been.

Bee brings light to important issues of rape kits going untested and the representation of atheists, specifically within the conservative side of the aisle.

In each instance, she also puts on a clinic on how to tell rape jokes and does one of the best Werner Herzog parodies in recent memory.

If you’re still worried about comedy tackling the hard issues and news of today in this post-Jon Stewart era, take a look at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee again.

If the hoped self-destruction of Donald Trump is going to happen in the presidential race, the next candidate in line to take the nomination for the GOP candidate is Senator Ted Cruz.

Samantha Bee realizes that so much focus on Trump that you might not be familiar with the buzz about Cruz.

Thus, she made this crash course on last night’s Full Frontal on why you should also be concerned with Ted Cruz running for president.

Conan O’Brien got his hands on the brand new UFC 2 game from EA Sports and it just happened that had to have real life UFC star Conor McGregor to play the game for the latest edition of Clueless Gamer.

O’Brien even had a character custom made for him in order to fight McGregor in the virtual world without ever getting hurt.

Turns out that it’s still embarrassing and McGregor has no sympathy for the opposing side

Watch O’Brien get virtually pummeled and weirdly love every second of it here.

Samantha Bee is already off and running with Full Frontal and now her husband  Jason Jones is getting ready to launch the TBS series that he’s starring in, The Detour. The show promises a family vacation that takes a dark turn, though under much suspicious circumstances than the National Lampoon Vacation movies, and lets chaos reign.

This promo probably just scratches the surface for how bad this family vacation. The Detour premieres on TBS on Mon. Apr. 11th.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” Getting International Distribution from Entertainment One

Looks like TBS might have found a late night companion to Conan that’ll finally stick.

Samantha Bee has only gotten a few weeks under her belt with Full Frontal, but it’s already made plenty of good headlines around the web in that short time.

So, Entertainment One has acquired the rights to distribute the show outside of North America, which is probably another good indicator that Bee might not fall to the same fate as The Pete Holmes Show and Black Box with Deon Cole before her.

Did we mention that you should be watching Full Frontal with Samantha Bee? It’s pretty great and Bee is even more unapologetic than she was on The Daily Show.

Samantha Bee and her team at Full Frontal are only a few weeks in and they’ve definitely upped the ante from Bee’s work at The Daily Show. Samantha takes-no-prisoners when on the comedic attack as shown in last night’s episode featuring a more realistic job fair for women of the future.

In the first of what is sure to be a strong line of remote segments for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Bee actually went to Syria (unlike her days at The Daily Show where they would often just throw up a background resembling wherever the piece was supposed to take place).

She sat down and talked to actual refugees and the people who are responsible for relocating them, which pairs well with Conan, who she leads in on Monday, and his more frequent trips to remote locales around the globe.

So, watch part 1 of The People We’re Incoherently Yelling About here.

The vetting process for where Conan O’Brien takes Conan next is pretty great. A very creative, sincere letter plus foreign snacks seem to do the trick.

On top of how great that is, O’Brien is continuing to go where no American late night talk show goes as South Korea is his next destination.

In Solid Premiere, More Watched “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” on Adult Swim Than TBS

February 10, 2016
Uncategorized

Turner made a smart bet by airing their new late night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on all of its TV channel properties. However, they probably didn’t guess that more viewers would watch it on the niche network, Adult Swim, over TBS, where Full Frontal will reside.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, about a million watched it on Adult Swim versus the 600,000 that watched it on TBS. While that metric is telling of plenty in what Full Frontal’s initial audience will be, Turner should be happy with a solid debut of 2.2 million viewers on basic cable in the overnight ratings.

One should note how Samantha Bee covered the election as well as, if not better than other hosts in the late night club.

Following other late night launches at TBS over the years, including The Pete Holmes Show, Lopez Tonight, and Deon Cole’s Black Box, the fate of Full Frontal definitely seems hopeful right now.

Focusing less on interviews and more on innovative taped segments and Daily Show-esque ribbing of video packages worked for Last Week Tonight and Bee made it work in her inaugural episode.

Also, the ridiculing of the media for their often incorrect focus on her being a woman should prove for a good running gag for quite some time.

On Mon. Feb. 8th at 10:30PM, a good chunk of your cable package will be thankfully taken up by Samantha Bee.

So, next Monday night tune into TBS, TNT, Adult Swim, TruTV, and/or HLN for the premiere of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.
