Get Your First Look at Season 3 of Black Monday

April 30, 2021

One of the wildest and darkest sitcoms on television, Black Monday, is set to return for its third season near the end of May as well as kick it into the 90s. Maurice and the rest of his ragtag stock market troublemakers are back together again (and so is all the chaos that follows them). They are spectacularly dressed in 90s style from head-to-toe though.

In fact, there’s never been a better time to see the absurdity of pure capitalism at work than now, which makes Black Monday kind of a perfect show for these times.

Get your first gander of Season 3 of Black Monday with the official trailer here, then look for the season 3 premiere on Sun. May 23rd 10PM on Showtime.

Romany Malco, who you probably very much enjoyed in many supporting or ensemble roles for several years (Weeds, A Million Little Things), is taking getting top billing into his own hands by putting out his very first feature film that he has written, directed, and starred in, Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison.

Malco stars as the titular Jackson who is an ex-convict trying to become a self-help guru after his release as told through a documentary crew following his journey. From the trailer, there’s a certain, ironic charm to his aspirations to become a motivational speaker reminiscent of Greg Kinnear’s desperate motivational speaker in Little Miss Sunshine. Also, it looks like Regina Hall might steal several scenes throughout this film.

See for yourself in the trailer here, then look for it start streaming on VOD and play at select drive-ins across the U.S. here.

From Computer Chess alone, we’ve become Andrew Bujalski fans and, subsequently, were really excited to see what he came up with next.

The trailer for his latest, Support the Girls, delivers in getting us hyped for another Bujalski off-beat comedy. Though, rather than a weird look into the early days of chess playing computers, we’re going into the inner workings of a Hooters-esque bar with what seems to be a shining lead in Regina Hall.

Perhaps, this will be a sweeter version of Party Down set in a sports bar and will be a timely story in the era of #MeToo and #TimesUp.

See for yourself in this trailer.

If your interest is hooked like ours is, then look for Support The Girls in theaters starting August 24th.

‘Tis the season for all those indie comedies that hit it big on the festival circuit to start coming out in theaters.

People Places Things played at Sundance earlier this year and is the latest opportunity that you’ll get to see Jemaine Clement on any screen since the wonderful What We Do In The Shadows hit the States earlier this year. Stephanie Allynne and Regina Hall round out the cast in what looks to be another heartfelt modern family dramedy.

Watch the trailer for People Places Things here.

The reboot of the Vacation franchise by New Line was already pretty enticing with Ed Helms as a grown up Rusty Griswold.

Now, Keegan Michael-Key and Regina Hall have gotten added to the cast as the heads of a perfect family in contrast to the oft-dysfunctional Griswolds.

So, this reboot just keeps getting better and better.
