Almost 100 people have pledged $ to The Comedy Bureau’s Patreon. Help us get to triple digits (or more than that is great too, especially since thousands of people use TCB everyday).

Just in case you weren’t aware, The Comedy Bureau has been solely run by me, Jake Kroeger, for nearly 7 years. I’ve loved serving both LA and comedy that whole time. Though I’ve gotten side gigs in this past, the Bureau takes up most of my time (i.e. it turns out that it’s a full time job running a whole agency by yourself) even though that has proven to be an ill advised idea financially time and time again (i.e. I make almost no money doing it and continue to live with my folks). Through monthly $ pledges on Patreon, I could have this be a sustainable public service that wouldn’t ever have to end. The more I get, the better The Comedy Bureau can be as well (app, NYC branch, etc. etc.). So, with all of that said, please support The Comedy Bureau on Patreon.

Hey Downtown LA, you’re getting a new indie stand-up show. It’s monthly and starting up at The Escondite by lovely LA transplants Troy Walker, Caleb Synan, Adam Christie, and Steph Tolev.

It’s free, has a great line-up, and there are $2 tacos.

Their inaugural show is this Tuesday and you can get more details here.

Somehow, John-Michael Bond will magically mash the worlds of stand-up and D&D together this Sunday at Nerdmelt in Hollywood. Also, the presence of the likes of Jared Logan, Chris Estrada, Grant Gordon, and Kate Willett make for just a great show on its own.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

That’s right. This show is stand-up comedy completely in complete darkness. If you’ve never experienced such a thing before, it’s pretty trippy, and, for this show, you’ll be in the hands of a great line-up.

Also, we should point out that this show, done in pitch black darkness, has a comedian named Steven King on it (sure, it’s spelled differently than the author, but it’s still a cool, novelty selling point anyway).

You can (and should) get your tickets here.

For those looking for any bit of positivity in the world these days, you might enjoy a competitive comedy show where all involved try to out-compliment each other.

Boast Rattle acts like an antithesis, even in name, to the phenomenon Roast Battle and definitely takes your mom’s advice of “if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say it” to heart.

Also, regardless of the compliments that will be hurled at one another, the line-up is stellar as well.

Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

If You Were Thinking About Supporting Us on Patreon, Could You Do So Before June 1st

Like rent, Patreon collects payments on the first, so we’d get our first batch of money pledged on June 1st. If you pledge anywhere from a $1 to almost whatever amount you want now, we’d get it very soon rather than having to wait over a month.

Also, we added a new goal: if $4K gets pledged, we’ll have a Comedy Bureau app made. Sound cool? Cool.
