Hey Downtown LA, you’re getting a new indie stand-up show. It’s monthly and starting up at The Escondite by lovely LA transplants Troy Walker, Caleb Synan, Adam Christie, and Steph Tolev.
It’s free, has a great line-up, and there are $2 tacos.
Their inaugural show is this Tuesday and you can get more details here.

Somehow, John-Michael Bond will magically mash the worlds of stand-up and D&D together this Sunday at Nerdmelt in Hollywood. Also, the presence of the likes of Jared Logan, Chris Estrada, Grant Gordon, and Kate Willett make for just a great show on its own.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

That’s right. This show is stand-up comedy completely in complete darkness. If you’ve never experienced such a thing before, it’s pretty trippy, and, for this show, you’ll be in the hands of a great line-up.
Also, we should point out that this show, done in pitch black darkness, has a comedian named Steven King on it (sure, it’s spelled differently than the author, but it’s still a cool, novelty selling point anyway).
You can (and should) get your tickets here.

Next week, Chris Fairbanks, a undeniable favorite of ours, is taping a new hour special next week at one of our favorite venues in town to watch stand-up, Bar Lubitsch.
If you in or around LA next Tuesday, please make sure you $5 cash on you to go see these tapings of what we’re pretty sure will be a damn good time.

For those looking for any bit of positivity in the world these days, you might enjoy a competitive comedy show where all involved try to out-compliment each other.
Boast Rattle acts like an antithesis, even in name, to the phenomenon Roast Battle and definitely takes your mom’s advice of “if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say it” to heart.
Also, regardless of the compliments that will be hurled at one another, the line-up is stellar as well.
Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

Weekly show, Sauce Comedy, is using June to put on an entire all-female comedy festival that does indeed feature some of the best comedians (see for yourself in the flyer above) that LA has to offer.
Perfectly called Pizza Coven, there are five Fridays in June that will make up this festival held at Desano’s Pizza in Hollywood.
