Amy Solomon (producer on Silicon Valley, Barry) curated the incredibly impressive literary gathering for this book and we really can’t wait for Mar. 16th, 2021 when Notes from the Bathroom Line is set for release.

Thus far, slated to contribute are:

Lolly Adefope, Maria Bamford, Aisling Bea, Lake Bell, Rachel Bloom, Rhea Butcher, Nicole Byer, D’Arcy Carden, Aya Cash, Karen Chee, Margaret Cho, Mary H.K. More contributors will be added down the line for a book that’s so much more promising than a lot of what 2020 has given us.

By the way, you can pre-order Notes from the Bathroom Line here.

ASSSSCAT, the marquee show for the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres across the country, is returning to do their signature long form improv show via a YouTube live-stream over four different shows this weekend for four separate worthy charities.

No matter where or when ASSSSCAT was happening, it was always sold out back when it happened in person. For this special charity, live-stream edition, you will have to get your chance to see UCB’s best without having worry about buying tickets weeks in advance or standing hours in a line. Also, it’s heartening to see ASSSSCAT is back after the closures of UCB Hell’s Kitchen and the NYC training center.

The teams, as you can see below, makes for a star studded affair. All of the founding UCB 4 (Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, and Ian Roberts)  are slated to perform throughout the four shows in addition to Bobby Moynihan, Ego Nwodim, D’Arcy Carden, Lauren Lapkus, Carl Tart, Seth Morris, Andy Daly, Lennon Parham, Jessica St. Clair, Sean Conroy, Eugene Cordero, Anthony Atamanuik, Jon Gabrus, John Gemberling, and so much more.

The four shows happening on Fri. May 1st & Sat. May 2nd will be dedicated to raising funds for Frontline Responders Fund, Project C.U.R.E., NYC Mayor’s Fund: Food For Heroes, and LA COVID-19 Crisis Fund.

By the way, they’re all scheduled out so you’ll be able to watch them all. Tune in May 1st & May 2nd at both 5PM PT/8PM ET & 8PM PT/11PM ET on UCB’s YouTube channel here.

Not only does supporting the Thomas Angel Foundation for this charity benefit mean that you’re supporting annual scholarships for women in comedy, but it also means that you’ll get to see the likes of very stand-up line-up of UCB’s very best (as you can see above).

Tickets are going for $15-$100 and can (and should) be bought up here.

Playing House Will Not Return for Season 4

Unfortunately, Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair will not get to continue on with Playing House on USA Network.

We have no doubt that the duo will return in another form for another great show (if you watched Playing House, you’d probably agree with the sentiment).

Here’s a video of Lennon and Jessica saying farewell.

Like many networks these days, USA has been trying on a whole new brand of comedy over the last couple of years and we’re so glad that they’ve not only gone in the direction of Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair’s Playing House, but have stuck with it.

Announced at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Parham and St. Clair will return for a third season of Playing House.

Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham Are Back Together Again on Earwolf’s Newest Podcast “WOMP IT UP! with Wompler + Listler”

Before Playing House, many of you were well acquainted with Jessica St. Clair as the intern frequently featured at Comedy Bang! Bang! known as Marissa Wompler.

As with many interns in this business, they move on up and get a show, though it’s usually something else besides a podcast broadcast from a library.

St. Clair is now reunited with her Playing House co-star Lennon Parham, though in character as Wompler and Lennon as Charlotte Listler, a teacher/former sniper/co-host for a new podcast at Earwolf, WOMP IT UP! .

The going-ons of Marina Del Rey High, at least the one that exists in the CBB universe, is the focus here and with St. Clair and Parham at the helm, it’ll be a damn fun ride.

USA Network finally renewed Playing House for a second season this week and the show’s stars were overjoyed.

In fact, they were so overjoyed that they dropped everything that they were doing at that exact moment to spread the news. Watch what happened here.

USA Network Renewing “Playing House” For 2nd Season

(via Deadline)

Well, after the network sitcom bloodbath we had a few weeks ago, it’s refreshing to hear of a comedy series getting actually renewed. Luckily, the renewed series is USA Network’s Playing House starring Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham, which, apparently did well on VOD platforms rather than being aired on USA.

So, it’ll return later in 2015 and episodes will hit VOD platforms before they actually air. If doing so becomes a trend for other shows because people don’t want to watch TV on air, we wouldn’t be surprised at all.

USA’s “Playing House” Does Live Improv at UCB

Several weeks ago, Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham from the very funny series Playing House performed an evening of long form improv at the UCB Theatre here in LA. They rounded up the hilarious likes Zach Woods, Jason Mantzoukas, Brad Morris, and Joe Wengert to join them on stage for their scenes, which they made clear that they won’t be from the show, but will be like how they write the show.

We just hope TV shows with wonderful improvisers keep doing this sort of thing. Give part of a scene a watch here.

To help you remember that, Jessica and Lennon did double duty on late night last night by appearing both The Pete Holmes Show and Late Night With Seth Meyers.

So watch all of these, which is all a really fun preview to what might be cable’s next big sitcom tonight in Playing House.

You Can Watch Pilot for Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham’s Playing House at USA Network

While the premiere isn’t until Apr. 29th at 10PM at the USA Network, you can watch the entire pilot of Playing House thanks to USA (the network, and the country as well, we suppose), the new series from Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham following their much too short lived series at NBC, Best Friends Forever.

Bobby Moynihan, Ian Roberts, Jason Mantzoukas, Andy Daly, and John Lutz are set to guest star on the upcoming USA Network comedy series Playing House from Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair.

Perhaps, Playing House will fare a little better NBC’s Best Friends Forever.
