Mark Hamill, Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, Bill Hader, Joel McHale, and Jerry Seinfeld Might Guest Star in New MST3K

Uncategorized

The likeliness that this will happen beyond MST3K creator Joel Hodgson getting interest from the names above probably will be greater if you donate in the final 30 hours of their Kickstarter campaign.

On top of the amazing cast and guest writers that Hodgson has announced, Joel has played what will is, we’re guessing, his final card before the Kickstarter campaign to revive Mystery Science Theater 3000 finishes.

Indeed, Jack Black, Mark Hamill, Neil Patrick Harris, Bill Hader, Joel McHale, and Jerry Seinfeld have expressed interest and Joel has even called out to the likes of Amy Poehler, Amy Schumer, Lily Tomlin, and Tina Fey to come on the show if they’d like.

We’ll all have a better picture of what the status of the guest star list will be for MST3K when the Kickstarter ends. By the way, they have reached their 9 episode goal and are shooting for their final stretch goal of $5.5 million. As of this post, they’re at $4,524,412 with less than a day and half to go.

Help them reach 12 full episodes here.

Despite his own protestations about being good at roasting, Andy Kindler roasts the entire industry of comedy every year at The JFL Montreal Comedy & Arts Festival. It’s like enjoying a new hour from Kindler every summer.

So, without further adieu, here’s Andy’s 2015 edition of The State of the Industry Address wherein he sticks it to that thing Jerry Seinfeld said about colleges and more.

Stephen Colbert Rides in a Car Made of Wood with Jerry Seinfeld on “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”

Also, in a rare, but ultimately very Colbert-like move, Stephen takes the wheel and attempts driving this very deep cut of a British sports car.

The latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee juxtaposes two living comedy legends in Stephen Colbert and Jerry Seinfeld side-by-side in a wooden sports car. In a couple of months, Colbert will not get to be so mobile and free-flowing with his interviews when starting at The Late Show.

The two find themselves in plenty of great awkward moments including Colbert finding himself quoting Neutral Milk Hotel and attempts at lulls.

Yes. There was a time where not only absolute segregation was enforced in South Africa, but free speech, including comedy, was also illegal.

The latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee had Jerry Seinfeld taking internationally renowned comedian and the new host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, around NYC and Brooklyn while learning about what comedy in a place where it was illegal to freely express yourself for a long time.

As a result, Trevor has a killer Nelson Mandela impression among his several great impressions and a fresh comedic perspective on race that will serve him well when taking over The Daily Show.

Jerry picks an eye-catching 70s Lamborghini for this Jim Carrey episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Jim Carrey rolls with Jerry Seinfeld to not only make putting sweetener in coffee an applause worthy feat, but show off his secret art workshop where Carrey paints. Carrey definitely, in a great way, can’t help but do bits from start to finish.

It should come as no surprise that they don’t recommend doing either.

In this latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld picks up Steve Harvey in a classic 50′s Chevy Bel-Air getting to the bottom of why Steve is so busy these days, giving advice to comedy classes, trying to cut your teeth at the infamous Apollo, getting booed at The Apollo, and being offended in comedy.

They also hop around Chicago not only to get coffee, but some tasty looking barbecue as well.

Jerry Seinfeld Tells Seth Meyers He Wants a Little Less Political Correctness and Set Up in Talk Show Interviews

On last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jerry Seinfeld wasted no time in getting to pulling back the curtain on how talk show interviews are set up and his subsequent distaste for pre-interviews/artificial conversation.

He does give props to Meyers for not having notes visible on his desk.

Then, he moved on to commenting on political correctness and how he has found that it has gone too far .

Jerry makes solid points on both counts and will inevitably have people/the Internet endlessly debate and further entrench themselves in whatever side they take.

Whether you agree or disagree, it won’t keep from Jerry from joking about what he wants and avoiding talking to producers before he goes on late night talks shows.

After over a month of tributes and farewells, David Letterman kept his send-off relatively short and sweet.

There was a star-studded Top Ten List of Things I’ve Always Wanted To Say To David Letterman that included Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Tina Fey, Peyton Manning, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jim Carrey, as well as a special performance of “Everlong” by The Foo Fighters.

There was also a nice opening bit from various Presidents.

Outside of that, Dave respectfully spent much his time delving into nostalgia and thanking all of the folks that have been a part of his show over 30 years.

There was even a “day in the life” montage of what Dave goes through with his staff.

With over 30 years and 6000+ shows logged, it’s amazing that Letterman is still self-deprecating in his final remarks.

Just like that, just a little past midnight last night. The Late Show with David Letterman and an entire era of comedy comes to a close.

You can watch the entire finale here.

Of course, Dave also made sure to send his best wishes to the new guy, Stephen Colbert.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a countdown going for Sept. 8th?

Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman Trade Places on “The Late Show”

Apparently, David Letterman has never been a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Jerry Seinfeld makes the most of what will likely be his final appearance on The Late Show by turning the table, or rather, the desk, on David Letterman and interviewed him.

Of course, Letterman is still the same as he’s been for all these decades whether on the couch or behind a desk.

For curiosity’s sake, Jerry also gets a one-on-one lesson on how David impressively sprints out on to the show.

We have a feeling that if there’s some sort final episode tribute, Jerry will probably be there once more.

After over 3 decades on late night, David Letterman has 28 episodes left of The Late Show left concluding on May 20th and has made sure the last set of guests is a cavalcade of the show’s most memorable, big names.

Thus far, Letterman has “George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr., Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Jack Hanna, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Keaton, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Paul Rudd, Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Short, Howard Stern, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons, Ralph Stanley and Amos Lee, and many more names to be announced in the coming weeks.” for his final few weeks at The Late Show.

We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Bill Murray was the final guest as he was Letterman’s very first guest.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has a campaign called Daring Greatly raising money for cancer research, advocacy, and patient services and are putting up auctions for a special individual roast from Jeff Ross, lunch with Ken Jeong, tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld and meet him at an upcoming Las Vegas show, and more.

Martin Short, Jerry Seinfeld, Miranda Sings, and Jimmy Fallon Play One of the Most Absurd Games of Pictionary

The game Pictionary is simple enough as it’s basically charades, but utilizing drawing rather than acting out. It’s also been a game for several years, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable that people playing it would be, at least, decent at guessing words and phrases from drawings.

However, the duos of Martin Short/Jimmy Fallon and Jerry Seinfeld/Miranda Sings made for one great, rare edition of Pictionary on The Tonight Show that might be one of the more ridiculous, outlandish games that has ever been played.

The YouTube star Miranda Sings (created by Colleen Ballinger) was Jerry Seinfeld’s guest on the latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and, besides the Super Bowl edition, is the closest thing to an episode of Seinfeld we’ve seen on the show (i.e. it gets pretty awkward over nothing but minutia).

After watching it, this episode could be entitled “The Eye Roll” in the universe of Seinfeld.

When Jerry Seinfeld was going to have Bill Burr on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, it was probably clear what car he was going to drive Bill around in the moment he thought of bringing Bill on as a guest.

So, Seinfeld drives Bill around LA in a classic muscle car, a Ford Mustang Boss 302, and they have coffee, talk about the quiet rage of Seinfeld, and smoke cigars in the daytime.
