Yes. There was a time where not only absolute segregation was enforced in South Africa, but free speech, including comedy, was also illegal.

The latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee had Jerry Seinfeld taking internationally renowned comedian and the new host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, around NYC and Brooklyn while learning about what comedy in a place where it was illegal to freely express yourself for a long time.

As a result, Trevor has a killer Nelson Mandela impression among his several great impressions and a fresh comedic perspective on race that will serve him well when taking over The Daily Show.
