Bryan Cook explains Guilty Treasure as “Comedians defend their “Guilty Pleasure” songs and then Andy Wood and I make them sing them with a band.”
Together, this format, which already sounds pretty promising, and this particular line-up should make for a great night of arguing, singing, and embarrassing nostalgia.

This coming Thursday evening, Nov. 16th at 8PM, we’ll get to take over Huntington Beach/The OC’s newest comedy club, The Rec Room for some Mandatory Good Times (i.e. a live stand-up show with our favorite comedians).
When attending, you’ll be required to enjoy the comedic talents of Sara Schaefer, Chris Fleming, Catherine Christina Martinez, and Billy Wayne Davis (just added) with all of his Southern charm and worldly smarts.

For tonight, Chicago’s own live comedy horror spectacle Helltrap Nightmare sold out their show at the Lyric Hyperion, so they added a 2nd show for this Sunday, Nov. 12th at 10PM.

Brian Regan is back in town again, this time playing the Terrace Theater in LBC on Saturday, November 18th at 8PM.

Regan swings into the Greater LA area only every so often and you really ought to not miss a chance to catch him live.
If you haven’t been, The Left Bank is a really lovely vintage store that happens to have a very charming comedy show.

Interestingly, all of these comedians have done specials. A few of them have even done entire hour comedy specials on television already and are now doing half-hour specials on Netflix.
As the streaming service giant wheels and deals in Seinfelds, Rocks, and Chappelles, it’s pretty clear that Netflix has reorganized the pecking order in who gets what when it comes to their comedy specials.
Rest assured, the talent is clearly stacked here with Aparna, Kinane, Feinstein, Morin, Yashere, and List and you ought to go to the tapings happening on Sunday, November 5th and Monday, November 6th at Globe Theater in DTLA (RSVP for free tickets here).
For those who attended UCB’s amazing Gene Wilder & Fidel Castro’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (in Limbo) last year, you’ll know that UCB LA will be doing another immersive theater experience for Halloween with HOTEL HELL-A.
Basically, all of UCB Sunset (5419 W. Sunset Blvd.) will be transformed into a haunted house of sorts, but, you know, done with that Upright Citizens Brigade flair.

Well, this was one of the most original, innovative, unbelievable things that we saw all year long. Somehow Jamie Loftus manages to be as vulnerable, open, and honest as she is hysterically absurd about when she lost her virginity.

A seance, a “real” werewolf, psychics, mummies, scary stories, horror movie actors’ panel, treats, and another edition of live spooky comedy podcast Dark Matters should make for a pretty great evening on Saturday at 11PM at The Pack Theater this Halloween weekend.

A few years ago, there was a marvelous, intimate performance space in Echo Park where plenty of comedy, music, art shows, screenings, etc. would happen called Echoes Under Sunset run by one Christian Chavez. It was so beloved and popular that it actually got to be an LA Weekly pick for Best New Comedy Club in 2014.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, they had to close their doors and effectively disappeared.
Now, in 2017, Christian has found a new space just south of the Miracle Mile on Pico Blvd. (more specifically right across the street from Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles on Pico) where he’ll bring the Echoes name back to life. He just received the keys to the place last week, but shows, mics ought to be happening very soon at what will now be called Echoes on Pico.
If things go at Echoes on Pico like they did with Echoes Under Sunset, expect to be hanging out near Pico and La Brea a lot more often.
When Todd Glass is offering up an intimate evening, you ought to know that every detail of the room, show, and overall experience will be lovingly tended to by Todd, not to mention that it will be wild, wonderful ride of Glass’ comedy accompanied by a classy live band.

After gaining international critical acclaim at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Natalie Palamides’ groundbreaking show returns home for another run at The Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe.
Also, the show’s director (and Fringe Festival favorite), Dr. Brown, will attempt to perform the show. Show description reads (probably written by Natalie):
Dr. Brown has been developing this show with Natalie for over a year and knows the show like the back of his hand… SO HE THINKS. Come watch Dr. Brown crash and burn OR, more likely, blow the show so far out of the water that Natalie hands the role over to him forever. Following the show the audience is welcome to watch Natalie give notes on his performance.
