After a far too long hiatus in town, Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle’s The New Negroes (hopefully their Comedy Central series of the same name will premiere soon this year as well) is back! More brilliant wordplay, rapping, stand-up, and more are thankfully on the horizon from Vaughn and Mike.

So, this first 2019 edition of New Negroes will happen at at The Virgil on Sun., Jan. 27th at 7:30PM (and happen every 4th Sunday of the month going forward). The line-up, of course, is pretty grand with:

Sasheer Zamata
Langston Kerman
Janelle James
Yusuf Ali
Katrina Davis
Troy Walker

So, go get your tickets in advance for $7 here (or you can chance paying $10 at the door-cash only)

Tickets are running between $10-$30 (plus 2-item min.). Get more details and tickets here.

OK, so the one and only Ilana Glazer from Broad City is playing Dynasty Typewriter for two nights. We feel like we don’t have to sell on this much harder than what we said above.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at door for both nights, Tues., Jan 8th and Wed., Jan. 9th, both at 8PM. Best get them quick as they will very likely sell out pretty fast.

Well, Heather Anne Campbell, probably one of the best improvisers you’ll ever see, is back at the Pack this Saturday!

This time around, she’s doing an entirely improvised film, presumably by herself as it’s called “The One Person Movie”. Whatever it is, we’re sure it’ll be brilliant, dark, and transcendentally funny.

One Person Movie will be happening at The Pack Theater in Hollywood this Saturday, December 15th at 10:30PM. As always with The Pack, admission is pay what you can.

All star musical improv group Baby Wants Candy is doing their special Hamilton-esque show again where they improvise an entirely Hamilton-style musical of a different famous person than Alexander Hamilton.

It’s pretty damn amazing and, just like the actual Hamilton musical, a must-see experience. The next Shamilton will happen right in between Christmas and New Year’s Eve on Thurs., Dec. 27th at 8:30PM at UCB Sunset.

Tickets are still available for only $7 and you really ought to go get them here.

Both are fantastic stand-ups in their own right and we have no doubt in our minds that they’ll keep the streak of great comedy that Josh & Josh started 10 years ago alive. Definitely, this first line-up is pretty damn great.

You’re cordially invited no matter who you are or what your relationship status is because it doesn’t have to be anything serious (or it even could be a “friend date” because that’s a thing, right?)

For 10 years, every Thursday, Josh Haness and Josh Weinstein have been holding down one of the best stand-up showcases in LA, appropriately called The Josh & Josh Show. Held in the back room of Bar Lubitsch, the nice and tight line-up always made for a damn fine night of stand-up in WeHo.

Unfortunately, The Joshes have decided to end their decade run at Lubitsch next Thursday leaving this Thursday and 11/15 left for you to catch their show (a thing we highly urge you to do, especially since it’s FREE w/no drink minimum or maximum).

Tomorrow, they’ve got a stacked line-up of Joe DeRosa, Kara Klenk, Jared Logan, Kurt Braunohler, Eddie Della Siepe, and Ian Karmel.

So, come to the lovely Bar Lubitsch this Thursday and/or next to pay your respects, enjoy The Josh & Josh Show’s swan song, and, of course, watch some great stand-up.

Mark Normand and Matt Ruby’s creation is now 11 years old and a national phenomenon and always delivers on the costumed, fake versions of the comedians you know and/or love as you can see with Henry Zebrowski as Mike Myers/Austin Powers, Jason Saenz & Nick Turner (who are returning this year as the LA hosts) as Cheech and Chong, and Teresa Lee as Ali Song.

We got a pair of tickets (normally, they’re $15 online and $20 at the door) for you to win for Schtick or Treat, which is this Sunday at The Virgil. Just sign-up for our mailing list by e-mailing us at thecomedybureau@gmail.com ASAP.
