So, Craig Ferguson, Host of The Late Late Show, Is Putting Out a Stand-Up Special on Netflix

First off, we’re thrilled to hear that hilarious person, Craig Ferguson, is releasing a stand-up special, I’m Here to Help, on Mar. 15th on Netflix.

Secondly, this is amazing, considering that no other late night host currently has put out a stand-up special in recent memory (they’re busy doing that late night tv show hosting thing, you know). Yes, we know Jimmy Fallon put out an award winning comedy album of songs, but that’s not a stand-up special.

Jimmy Fallon May Very Well Replace Jay Leno on The Tonight Show

This seems like a logical move on NBC’s part, but one can’t help think of all the fiascos of trying to hand off The Tonight Show from Johnny Carson. It is nice to see the new energy that Jimmy Kimmel brings to 11PM on network TV as well as Conan solidifying his place at TBS along with Pete Holmes having his own show right after at midnight.

These are the moves that are making everyone other network that does late night join 2013.

Cinefamily Is Doing an Entire Retrospective on Jerry Lewis This Month

Apparently, there was a 6 hour in 6 parts documentary that was made about Jerry Lewis and his storied career in film, television, and comedy. Now that you know that, you’ll be more than happy to know that Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre will be showing all 6 parts in addition to accompanying Jerry Lewis classics. Check Cinefamily’s calendar to see when Bonjour, Mr. Lewis is playing here.

Also, Cinefamily is killing it with comedy lately in case you haven’t noticed (Benson Movie Interruption, Greg Proops Film Club, Wayne Federman International Film Festival, Heart of Darkness, etc.)

As Nielsen Expands Scope of TV Ratings, a David Cross Movie Will Be Released on Vine

March 3, 2013
Uncategorized
david cross, it's a disaster, nielsen, tv ratings, vine

The Nielsen Company, in an attempt to more accurately represent viewership of TV shows with the current advent of the Internet and home/mobile devices, has agreed to expand the scope of their reported TV ratings to include Netflix, Amazon Instant, Xbox, Playstation, and the iPad. This is in addition to their Nielsen Twitter rating.

However, it was announced last month that the movie It’s A Disaster starring David Cross (it has a great trailer if you haven’t seen it already) from Oscilloscope will be put on the new 6 second video Twitter based app Vine.

We’re not exactly sure how all of this will play out or how much growing pains we’ll go through, but the once very segmented realms of movies, television, and the Internet are melding together, which is good, we believe, in the long run.

This Better Be Funny Ep. 63 with Tony Sam

March 5, 2013
Uncategorized

On this week’s This Better Be Funny, the amazing Tony Sam!

Guest incredibly funny Tony Sam (HAHAJK.com, Persona!) joins Jake and Jeremy at Zankou Chicken for this episode of riffing/hating on wool ties (Jake is wearing one in this episode), discovering that Jeremy is indeed one of those people who had no idea what shawarma was until he saw The Avengers (making Zankou Chicken an ideal location for this ep.), and Tony’s awful time at a strip club.

Unsurprisingly, that story delights Jake and disappoints Jeremy terribly for a really fun episode.
