From this trailer, the Nat Faxon/Jim Rash written & directed ‘The Way, Way Back’ has the makings for one solid coming-of-age comedy with a cast of Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Toni Colette, Rob Corddry, and more, not to mention the Oscar winning duo of Faxon and Rash (they won an Oscar for The Descendants) helming and writing it.
Keep a close watch for this coming to theaters.
Every year, around just about now (specifically next weekend Apr. 18th-21st), the city of Portland, OR hosts the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, an amazing weekend of great comedy that has been oft and best described as “comedy summer camp”. SoundCloud has partnered up with the great folks at CleftClips (Super Serious Show, Hot Tub LA) to have the festival covered and documented with one of our favorite comedians, Andy Peters.
There will be comedian interviews, random encounters, and overall silliness coming from the Peters’ “Wandertown” at Bridgetown dispatches. You can and should hear all of that coming up very soon here.
Posted just over an hour ago, the very funny Jim Jefferies announced on his Twitter feed that, “We got a 2nd season”. We’re assuming he’s talking about his great FX series, Legit, given that the tweet before this one above is about the finale of season one of Legit.
Great to hear that FX is keeping their comedy line-up so far for FXx.
Comedy legend Bill Cosby danced, made a corny joke, told a great story, messes with the band, and is the consummate late night guest/hilarious comedian on Fallon last night. It’s not like you’d expect or consequently get anything less from Cosby, but it’s great to see him still kill it on late night.
Watch him now in parts one, two, and three.
Riot LA debuted last year and turned out to be the long overdue comedy festival that Los Angeles needed. Dozens of wonderful, hilarious comedy shows confined to just one block in Downtown LA made for one hell of a festival and if you weren’t there, you missed something really great.
Luckily, there’s this montage that will hopefully fill in some blanks for you. Oh, and Riot LA is coming back in 2014!
Blip Greenlights Rob Huebel Web Series
Web series hub Blip has brought on a whole new slate of projects including this one that will star Rob Huebel. Perhaps, the CBS pilot that Rob is in will get picked up in addition to Children’s Hospital and the slew of other things that he’s in so we can get more Huebel on more screens.

The Hannibal Buress directed music video for Chance the Rapper that we teased earlier this week is here. Chance’s “NaNa” got a $5,000 check from Jash’s Buh Channel to make the music video of which and Hannibal opted to spend on Shakey’s, 99 cents store, random costumes, Suit City, etc.

IFC announced today their latest additions to their development slate featuring 3 pilots and 8 scripts, which, from the looks of it, might make for one hell of a comedy channel.
Projects include as said above a Garfunkel and Oates pilot, scripts from Matt Besser, Rob Schrab, Megan Mullally, Chris Gethard, Tom Scharpling, Kyle Dunnigan, and more AND that stop motion animation Dynasty parody pilot featuring voice talents of Maria Bamford, Nick Kroll, Mike O’Connell, and more.
Basically, this is pretty great IFC.

Details on John Mulaney NBC Pilot and Seaton Smith Joins Cast
This is good news all around as John Mulaney’s pilot got another solid cast member in Seaton Smith and, apparently, Martin Short will be playing a game show host mentor to Mulaney.
We know we haven’t seen any clips or footage of any kind, but this better get picked up.

Bo Burnham’s Scripted Show About a Reality Show ‘Zach Stone Is Going To Be Famous’ Gets a Trailer
Coming to MTV next month, Bo Burnham’s brand new series about pursuing the newest American dream, getting famous as a reality star, in ’Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous’ just released its first full length trailer. From what we just saw, this could be pretty hilarious, spot on, and great.

Very very soon, The Grawlix’s Amazon Studios web series, Those Who Can’t, will finally premiere. Seems from this first teaser as Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, and Andrew Orvedahl play teachers in Colorado, though they’re still pretty much themselves from their previous roles as self-absorbed, conniving comedians.

Stand Up! Records has just put out two albums worthy of your ears from humorist Dylan Brody and one of Britain’s best comedians in Aussie Brendon Burns.
Dylan Brody’s Writ Large brings a collection of stories brought to the stage in the fullest potential of the English language, and an incredibly clever triptych of improv as a nod to recording at UCB, going from moments of life’s funny, absurd moments to enlightened reflections that come from said moments (and back again).
Brendon Burns’ Pompously Lectures Americans is Burns doing a more traditional hour of stand-up, though mad, and hilarious so, at the fact that Americans were unaware of big parts of Australia being on fire.
Pick up both now and enjoy running an entire gamut of comedy.
We’re glad to see that Conan definitely has a great stable of regulars in regards to stand-up, not to mention that he features stand-up on a consistent basis. We’re also glad to see that a great example of this is Nate Bargatze notching his 4th set on a Conan O’Brien hosted program (he’s done two at Late Night and two at Conan).
Whether or not you know that famed Twitter account @dadboner is actually written by comedian Mike Burns, you should absolutely watch this great mini-documentary that Vice made about Mike, trying to make it as a comedian in LA/in general, and his coming up with and rise to Internet fame as Karl Welzein.

Leave it comedians to turn a nice stroll along the scenic parts of the LA River (think that one scene from Drive where they’re by a river) to imagining what would be the start of an episode ofLaw and Order. The very funnyRo Delle GraziejoinsJakeandJeremythis week in figuring what worst case scenarios and possible alibis for crime in and around or inspired by a small stream floating through a bunch of concrete. Oddly enough, as much riffing as they did about possibly finding one, they didn’t stumble past a dead body. Maybe “the secret” doesn’t work?
On Wednesday, the Hannibal Buress directed Chance the Rapper music video will drop. The music video is going to be apparently so dope that it got its own teaser, which you can watch right now.
In recent years, there has been a race for the most organic food possible, devoid of chemicals, preservatives, and more. As with anything, you can go too far as shown in this funny sketch by UCB’s Horse + Horse directed by David Bluvband (Human Fish on The Chris Gethard Show).
The amazing Reggie Watts just released a music video off his song “If You’re Fucking, You’re Fucking”, both hilarious and kind of instructional for JASH (the online comedy network with him, Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, and Tim & Eric). If you haven’t you heard this song on Reggie’s wonderful last album/special, A Live at Central Park, pick that up and definitely make sure to watch this music video to, as we said before, laugh and learn.
The Nerdist Podcast Just Dropped Their Annual Stand-Up Cluster
Once a year, The Nerdist Podcast gathers their favorite comedians under the roof of the back room of Meltdown Comics AKA The Nerdmelt Showroom to put together a podcast stand-up comedy special.
