Eddie Izzard To Make Run for Mayor of London in 2020
Not only is Eddie Izzard one of comedy’s most highly regarded performers, but he has been a noted activist, once completing 43 marathons in 51 days. That’s all on top of being an icon for having performed in high heels and a dress as a man.
In short, he may just pull running for Mayor of London off in a few years. If he does though, we’d hope that he still remains a funny public persona instead of staying within in government chambers like Senator Al Franken.

Maria Bamford is so wonderful and hysterical in so many ways like all throughout her latest album Ask Me About My New God
Even when she is going to Amoeba Records and talks about a bunch of books she picked up, it’s pretty damn funny. Watch her episode of Amoeba Records’ web series What’s In My Bag at the link.
A Special Things Records comes out with another awesome release in Jimmy Pardo’s Sprezzatura. A king of crowd work and riffing and the reference you’ll bust up laughing at when you get home and Google it, Pardo showcases all of that during one night at Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati.
Pick it up on CD or Digital Download and also, get a kick out of the name of this album, which, if we might say, Googled, laughed, and think is perfect for Pardo.
Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Set to Do R-Rated Animated Feature ‘Sausage Party’ for Sony
Obviously, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg have wanted to do an adult animated comedy where they anthropomorphize a sausage for a long time, but just waited until they had the success of something like This Is The End to shop it around town.
They’re calling ‘Sausage Party’ and presumably will be dick joke free, right?

The All Jane No Dick Comedy Festival in Portland, OR highlights many of the best voices in comedy that just happen to be female and with the likes of Bonnie McFarlane, Lauren Lapkus, Cameron Esposito, Aparna Nancherla, Janine Brito, Barbara Holm, Virginia Jones, and more, we think they’ll definitely pull it off.
It’s happening Oct. 17th-20th and not that bad of a trip from LA to Portland (which we’d hope hope you’d be used to from going to Bridgetown)
Eagleheart Returns to Adult Swim in November
The man behind Eagleheart, Jason Woliner, just uploaded a teaser for the latest season set to come back on Nov. 14th at Adult Swim.

The Lovely CIty of Galway, Ireland Is Going to Have a Great Comedy Festival
Not only is Galway, Ireland one of the more scenic places in the country, especially as it’s situated right on the western coastline making for gorgeous sunsets, it’s going to be the site of what has the ingredients for a great comedy festival this October.
Namely, Eddie Pepitone, Glenn Wool, Set List: Improvised Stand-Up as well as hilarious UK talents of Stewart Lee, Russell Howard, Omid Djalili are performing and if you just happen to be in Ireland, you should make it out to this.
It’s just another great episode of terrorist cell procedurals dramas in Law of The Land at FKR.TV with cameos from Phil LaMarr and James Urbaniak.

The Soup to Start Spin-off ‘The Soup Investigates’
Starting Oct. 2nd on E! at 10:30PM, The Soup hosted by Joel McHale will be followed by a companion show, also hosted by Joel McHale (sorry if some of you thought it was going to be Chris Hardwick) called The Soup Investigates featuring such good comedy folks as Michael Kosta, Sarah Tiana, Eli Olsberg, and more.
So, with this and all growing number of shows that accompany a hit show, the Emmys might have to make another category for Outstanding Variety Companion Show?

Nielsen to Add Mobile Device Viewing to TV Ratings in Fall 2014
Nielsen inches ever closer to trying to getting an accurate read on who is watching what. We’re not sure how much of a net positive that would be, but we’d hope a move like that would have prevented shows like Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous or Bunk from getting cancelled.
We just wonder why they couldn’t get that information from the NSA.

HBO Orders Political Comedy Pilot From Jay Roach/Jerry Weintraub/Roberto Benabib
Veep has been quite the success for HBO and there’s certainly room for scripted political comedy on TV, even on the same channel.
This project sounds very intriguing as it sounds basically like Dr. Strangelove for TV and it’s being developed at a place like HBO.

Potentially, with ABC buying a Paul Scheer comedy, husband and wife Paul Scheer and June Diane Raphael could both have sitcoms on the network (Raphael has already sold a pilot at ABC).
