Tonight’s Conan Will Be a “Scrapisode” Made Up Entirely of Show Rehearsals

August 21, 2014
Uncategorized
conan, rehearsal, scrapisode, tbs

If you’ve followed Team Coco online, you’ve probably gotten a chance to see some rehearsal footage where Conan O’Brien and company really play fast and loose. It’s a whole bunch of fun seeing Conan at the helm, wearing his guitar rather than a tailored suit.

Well, the entire episode of Conan tonight will be all cut together from that very same crazy rehearsal footage to make a “scrapisode”. It’s yet another first by Conan O’Brien that should be pretty great like his stop motion animation episode or Occupy Conan.

Check it out tonight at TBS 11PM.

The Toronto International Film Festival has taken what would have just been a special premiere screening of Bill Murray’s latest film St. Vincent and made an entire Bill Murray Day. There will be free screenings on Sept. 5th during TIFF for Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day.

Supposedly, Murray will also be there, probably giving many in attendance their own Bill Murray story by possibly doing anything from karaoke, dodge ball, giving wedding toasts, etc.

You might have seen Hampton Yount on Last Comic Standing or Adam Devine’s House Party, but Hampton’s been deserving of a stand up set on late night for quite some time.

Fortunately, last night, he got to do just that on Conan. Watch his set here (and then also never think about how your grandparents met the same way ever again).

Laurie Kilmartin Taping a Comedy Special Entitled “45 Jokes About My Dead Dad”

You’ve seen comedy specials/albums taped in weird places or done in multiple places or intercut with some sketches. You have have yet to see a comedy special that’s on one topic and has a set number of jokes on said topic. That may sound a little too atypical, but Laurie Kilmartin has made such a prospect incredibly enticing by announcing that she’s going to make a special out of 45 jokes about her dead dad.

Appropriately titled ’45 Jokes About My Dead Dad“, Kilmartin will be taping this special that will clock in somewhere between 15 and 25 min. at the Lyric Theatre here in LA on Oct. 17th and 18th.

Even on top of seeing something as unusual and intriguing of a comedy special as this, Kilmartin is damn funny too, so don’t miss out.

AMC’s only comedy pilot currently in contention, We Hate Paul Revere, keeps getting more enticing. Now, 30 Rock’s Scott Adsit has now been added to the cast as Sam Adams. Fingers crossed that this gets picked up so we can, at the very least, all just see what this looks like.

We’re now curious to see if she’ll keep the same great, overly posh accent she has on Hotwives given the presence of British writers on Episodes.

On Oct. 4th at 10PM, HBO will not only be airing the first special from the hysterical Jerrod Carmichael, but they will be actually airing the very first stand-up performance from Jerrod on TV ever.

It’s amazing that Jerrod will be make his televised stand-up debut on an HBO special presented by Funny or Die and there’s a very good reason for that. What we saw at the taping is what we’ve seen here in LA for years with Carmichael having such an ease and command of the stage at the same time, delivering his hard hitting jokes a relaxed subtlety.

Here’s a promo for the special titled Love at The Store, taped live at The Comedy Store, directed by Spike Lee.
