I tried to look as stupid as possible in this photo. I think I really nailed it. This is for a new web show coming out on Atom.com called “Ecommando.” It’s me and a talking eco-friendly car. David Cross voices the car. April 18th is the release date.

For $7 you get FREE PARKING, FREE BEER, and the best stand-up comedians in the country that have been featured on every late night show ever made! EVER! Including late night informercials. Just kidding, but they’ve been on TV and they’re funny in real life too!

Line-up:

Pete Holmes
Garfunkel & Oates
Ryan Stout
Morgan Murphy
Rory Scovel
TJ Miller
Eli Olsberg

Show is 21+, but is anyone really under 21 these days?

ONLINE TICKETING WILL BE POSTED SHORTLY!!!

Here’s a little personal revelation about the Comedy Bureau, a comedy show is probably the only reason I would need to be at the Pleasure Chest.

This is a screenshot of the Train Wreck Episode of Gentlemen Scumbags.  That’s my good friend, Al Jackson (who is fucking hilarious and was over-serverd last night) doing a pop-in on the show.  Jonny Loquasto was the guest.  Enjoy.  It’s here.

And for the sensitive NLO listeners who also listen to Scumbags, I’m not mad at Patrick or Al.  Jesus, calm down.  I love you.  I love them.  Calm it.

HEY FILMMAKERS!

Here at The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, we get a lot of people asking us if they can show their videos on our show, and for one reason or another, it’s just not a good fit for our weekly show. So we’ve decided to create a night just for all the short films we like that aren’t right for our show- it’s the First Annual Meltdown Movie Night!

From now until May 6th, you can submit any short film (animated or live action) to us, we’ll pick our favorites, and show them on May 21st at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown.

Here are the specifics:

  • Your film must be on DVD or readily available on YouTube
  • It must be your film (duh)
  • You can submit it via mail (Emily Gordon at Meltdown Comics, 7522 W Sunset Blvd, LA CA 90046), email (meltdownshow@gmail.com) or by handing a DVD to us at The Meltdown
  • Any DVD must have your name and email address written on it in Sharpie
  • Your film must be under 10 minutes

So start submitting, and maybe we’ll see you… at the Meltdown Movie Night!

Zach Gaflianakis is your new GQ dude (shot gloriously and beardiously as ever by Martin Schoeller), and we’ve got an excerpt of his Mad Lib-style cover story. Includes the sentence, “We made [‘The Hangover Part II’] because I still felt unresolved about MY CHARACTER’S FATNESS and Mike Tyson’s PIGEON LOVE.”

Cinefamily and The Comedy Store are Proud/Ashamed to present:

4/14 @ 8:00pm
Tony Clifton: Live On The Sunset Strip
(sneak preview!)

Co-presented by The Comedy Store

“Clifton is an emissary from the ninth circle of showbiz hell.” — AV Club Blog

“A figure so mesmerizing in his grotesquerie that his very existence becomes an act of theatrical alchemy.” — Entertainment Weekly

Andy Kaufman’s alter ego lounge singer Tony Clifton, along with his hot band and even hotter burlesque dancers, shocked Los Angeles audiences last May with the most hilariously heinous, politically incorrect act imaginable. Luckily for us, cameras were rolling. Be the first to see a sneak peek of what audiences and critics are still reeling about! Kaufman first discovered Clifton in ’69 in a seedy lounge in Las Vegas, and hired him for his historic “Carnegie Hall Concert”. In the ‘80s, Clifton appeared on Merv Griffin, Dinah Shore, Letterman, and even with Miss Piggy — before being thrown off the Paramount lot after showing up to a run-through of “Taxi” drunk with two hookers! Rumor has it that Tony may show up to this screening — that is, if he’s not sitting in the LAPD’s drunk tank again.
