If there was a game of Sorry! on Louie, it’d probably go like this.

Matt Ingebretson and Cory Loykasek along with director Behn Fannin go on a introspective journey sparked by that childish board game known as Sorry!

After watching this, you’ll probably play Sorry! yourself just so you can never think of ‘sorry’, both the game and word, ever the same way.

Matt Ingebretson, who we feature a lot here, has put together an entire collection of short form pieces from some of the funniest people currently in and around Los Angeles for The Impolite: A Collection of Comedic Lit From LA.

Those people include such comedy folks as:

Megan Amram, Nathan Buckley, Eric Dadourian, Raj Desai, Emily Heller, Karen Kilgariff, Megan Koester, Yassir Lester, Aparna Nancherla, Eddie Pepitone, Sean Tejaratchi, Amber Tozer, David Venhuizen, Patrick Walsh, Jay Weingarten, Jake Weisman, Nick Wiger, and Allen Strickland Williams.

The book has everything from “…high-concept humor to idiotic poetry to a detailed factual account of how Cash Money Records caused a rift between a step-father and his son,” says Ingebretson.

So, with all of that being said, we suggest taking $10 and spending on it buying and enjoying “The Impolite”.

We all know finding someone to open up to in a relationship is a scary thing and, often times, we hold back more than a fair share of revealing information for fear of scaring the other person away. While that instinct should sometimes be minded, holding back too much information can be way more awkward.

It’s either that or Matt Ingebretson has way too many secrets. Watch this great short with Wendy McColm, directed by Johnny Izzo and see for yourself if we or Matt are being too secretive.

The very funny Matt Ingebretson, Jake Weisman, and Pat Bishop show that sometimes director’s commentary is best when it’s for a short film that doesn’t need it with an actor that was forced into doing the short film in the first place.

Give it a watch now.

We thought that comedians Matt Ingebretson and Dave Ross were just going to fence with no fencing experience as a one-off, but, as it thankfully turns out, we’re getting more of these Idiot Fencing videos.

This latest one features Bridger Winegar and Cameron Esposito and a house and several house items that are completely illegal in actual fencing. Thanks to creator Matt Ingebretson and director Pat Bishop for keeping this going.

Two of LA’s up and coming comedians Matt Ingebretson and Dave Ross are both vastly inexperienced in fighting as well as fencing. That’s why they did a video where they do exactly that and consequently why we’re posting it as it’s pretty damn funny.

1) It’s official: The Nerdist Theatre has arrived (@nerdmelt) and the back room of Meltdown Comics is no more (well, sort of).  Kicking off their inaugural weekend off with Jimmy Dore’s Pop and Politics tonight and a live Nerdist Podcast w/James Gunn tomorrow night, the Nerdist Theatre is sure to be one of the “places to be” in LA.

2) LA via Texas and Texas via LA: Hampton Yount’s experiences at SXSW and Matt Ingebretson and the Hell Yes Fest in the Austinist.

3) The Comic’s Comic is now on Tumblr.  I think you should follow.

4) Comedy Central now has a smart phone app for free.  Perhaps you can find out when Mash-Up is on at 3:30AM again even more accesibly than visiting the Comedy Bureau.

MARTY’S/THE OPEN MIC 7351 W. Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA/5PM to 11PM/$5/multiple sets allowed

8) May I stress that I have ABSOLUTELY no problem with people telling jokes that might be considered controversial or “too soon” as long as they’re inherently funny and not depending on mere hyperbole/graphic detail.  Perfect example from comedian Brooks Wheelan posted only a few days after the earthquake and tsunami struck Japan: @brookswheelan This whole Japan thing is the biggest win dolphins have had since the ‘72 undefeated season. #LARRYCSONKA.  Nicely done, Brooks.  Nicely done.
