Pick of the Day: Valley Vegas w/Neil Hamburger & Major Entertainer (near LA) 6/3

June 1, 2023
News

For years and years and years, Neil Hamburger has had a premier LA comedy gathering under the banner of his name, usually somewhere in the hip epicenters of LA’s Eastside. Hamburger was at the beloved space The Satellite (that’s no longer with us), then at Zebulon, then, most recently, at Permanent Records Roadhouse.

Needless to say, the rest of the Greater LA Area hasn’t necessarily had much of a chance to not venture out/commute to one of the America’s Funnyman’s shows. However, this weekend, those unfortunate folks stuck in the Valley are not only getting a chance to catch Neil Hamburger, but Major Entertainer as played by everyone’s favorite Energy Vampire from What We Do in the Shadows, Mark Proksch.

Both Neil and Major Entertainer are doing a very special evening called Valley Vegas at the Corbin Bowl out in Tarzana that, to be honest, might be a perfect vibe for the alternate universe lounge act that is Neil Hamburger.

Doors are 8PM. Tickets are only $12 and you best go get them here right now.

Pick of the Day: What We Do In The Shadows Screening and Panel 1/6

News
deadline, harvey guillen, kayvan novak, mark proksch, matt berry, natasia demetriou, paul simms, q and a, stefani robinson, virtual screening, what we do in the shadows

What We Do In The Shadows was one of the best things that got us through quarantine last year and it will very likely to continue to serve that purpose whether it be rewatching eps. of the past two seasons or getting a whole new season (can anyone really confidently say what’s truly going to happen this year?)

In any case, Deadline is hosting an exclusive virtual screening of one of the all time best pieces of horror comedy that will be accompanied by a panel discussion with the cast and showrunners. That includes Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, Mark Proksch, Paul Simms, and Stefani Robinson. If you’re looking for any word on season 3 of What We Do In The Shadows, this is very likely where’d you get it.

Best of all, it’s free to join in so long as you RSVP. Do so here.

Dream Corp LLC Season 3 Reveals Sneak Peek

October 13, 2020
News

Outside of The Midnight Gospel, Dream Corp LLC is one of the trippiest comedies that has ever been created. That’s saying a lot considering a good deal of it is live action. The shenanigans of Dr. Roberts and co. are and have been mind-bending and so damn funny over their two seasons on Adult Swim.

Needless to say, a break from reality is one of the most valuable things while in quarantine with a nightmare bumbling on as POTUS. Season 3 of Dream Corp LLC is definitely going to serve up plenty of absurdity as a respite for whatever you’re specifically going through.

Get a taste of what that will be like with this sneak peek here, then look for the premiere of season 3 on Sun. Oct. 25th at 12:30AM, right after The Eric Andre Show.

Pick of the Day: Thrilling Adventure Hour 5/23

Another edition of the beloved old timey radio program, the Thrilling Adventure Hour, is coming around the corner (and their proceeds are, once again, going to benefit food banks across America, for which they’ve raised $50K already). If you’re still unfamiliar, a smashing cast reads a classic 1930s-40s style radio show that’s cleverly and hysterically written by Acker and Blacker.

The WorkJuice Players will all be in attendance including: Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, Busy Philipps, Joshua Malina, Janet Varney, Hal Lublin, Annie Savage, Craig Cackowski, Mark Gagliardi, Autumn Reeser, and Marc Evan Jackson. Also, the likes of Nathan Fillion, Keegan-Michael Key, and your favorite energy vampire Mark Proksch will be joining in this round of TAH.

This latest Thrilling Adventure Hour is set to stream on this Sat. May 23rd at 5PM PT/8PM ET. Tickets are only $6.30 (includes service fee) and you can and very much should buy tickets here.

Neil Hamburger, America’s favorite lounge act character that mostly roasts music, is going really big this month. There will be a bigger line-up than his usual residency has slated (that will probably get bigger than this flyer), but all of this will be done in service of Australian Wildfire Relief.

As you can see, this night of true variety will be dazzling, hysterical, and, of course, go to a great cause.

Go get your tickets here (they’ll probably sell out fast)!
