Another season of Fuller House is perhaps balanced out with a mumblecore anthology?

Joe Swanberg, the mind behind mumblecore dramedies Digging For Fire and Drinking Buddies, is getting his own series that will follow various lives of Chicagoans in the organic style that Swanberg has honed over the years.

Marc Maron, Hannibal Burress, Jake Johnson, Aya Cash, Dave Franco, Orlando Bloom, Malin Akerman, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and more have all signed on to be featured in the series some way.

All of these elements and this anthology series’ title being Easy make this for yet another intriguing Netflix series will all probably end up binge watching over a weekend.

Finally, Here’s the First Teaser for The Duplass Brothers’ “Animals”

With BoJack Horseman and a multitude of web series that have talking animals, it would seem anthropomorphized animated series are becoming their own sub genre.

That being said, there’s still room for more such shows as you can see with this teaser of The Duplass Brothers’ Animals.

Not only are NYC animals talking like regular New Yorkers a clever concept, but having the voice talents of Nick Kroll Matt Walsh, Steve Zissis, Adam Scott, Colbie Smulders, Marc Maron, Zach Woods, Jessica Chastain, Horatio Sanz, Kumail Nanjiani, Katie Aselton, Wanda Sykes, Paul Scheer, Rob Corddry, and Molly Shannon definitely pushes it to the next level.

Look for the premiere of Animals on Friday Feb. 5th at 11:30PM on HBO.

I’m doing another season of #Maron for @IFC! Gotta get that guy back on track!

IFC has indeed picked up Marc Maron’s Maron based on WTF with Marc Maron for a fourth season.

Who knew that podcasts would end up being the inspiration for a decent chunk of a cable network’s schedule for multiple seasons?

Along side Comedy Bang! Bang!, IFC’s has successfully adapted podcasts into two of their longer running series.

If they just had some sort of bonus features or accompanying essay, this could be a Criterion Collection for podcasts.

The entire archives for Earwolf, Wolfpop, and WTF with Marc Maron are getting the ads taken out of them and having the audio spruced up for the new subscription based audio streaming service, Howl.fm.

In addition to the likes of How Did This Get Made?, Sklarbro Country, improv4humans with Matt Besser, The Sylvester Stallone Podcast, Howl.fm will also offer podcast episode specials, often recorded live, and mini-series including Superego’s Forgotten Classics.

Comedy albums such as Paul F. Tompkins Impersonal, Jimmy Pardo’s Sprezzatura, Kyle Kinane’s I Liked His Old Stuff Better, Andy Daly’s Nine Sweaters, and more will also be offered with a monthly subscription fee of $4.99 a month.

We’re guessing that ad free selling point might be pretty enticing to a lot of you.

Contrary To What We’ve All Been Hearing, Jason Bateman Says There Is No Current Plan for More “Arrested Development”

We’ve all made a huge mistake?

Despite hearing from Brian Grazer about a new batch of episodes of Arrested Development coming soon, it seems more unsure that such a thing is indeed happening.

Earlier this summer, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos expressed that he was hopeful to continue with new episodes of the series, but nothing was official or confirmed.

In his recent WTF appearance, Arrested Development star Jason Bateman echoed that sentiment by no knowledge of new episodes going into production.

He also elaborated that calling the latest episodes of Arrested Development “season 4″ as misleading as they were the first part of a three part arc.

Let’s hope we’ll be able to see the other two parts.

This puts Marc Maron on a new hour of stand-up every two years.

That’s incredibly impressive considering you add his WTF and Maron on IFC on top of following up 2009′s Final Engagement, 2011′s This Has To Be Funny and 2013′s Thinky Pain.

So, you have the rest of summer and all of fall to get Epix so you can watch Marc Maron: More Later (unless you were in the crowd at the Vic Theatre in Chicago earlier this year)

Somehow, We Got a Sort Of Shout Out on “Maron”

In comedy, it’s often an honor to get referenced in an Andy Kindler joke.

While we’ve heard Kindler do it on stage from time to time, Kindler specifically references The Comedy Bureau in this Maron clip, which has definitely made us feel like we’re doing something right around here.

So, thanks to both Maron and Kindler to give us the niche validation that our “staff” thrives on.  (We’re fully aware that this is the sort of self-congratulatory post that also can be made fun of in a Kindler-esque joke, but we’re just glad to be mentioned on TV).

And Here’s That Obama Episode of WTF with Marc Maron

It’s podcasting history right here.

Last Friday, President Barack Obama indeed came to Marc Maron’s garage, albeit a super safe version of Marc’s garage that was covered in pop up tents and a Secret Service detail to do an episode of WTF.

They chatted for just over around an hour in a conversation that, because it is podcasting and of the noted way that Maron conducts interviews, is more intimate and free flowing probably any interview that Obama has had. Thus, you get to go from talking about the tragedy in Charleston last week all the way to talking about Pryor and Dick Gregory.

Listen to this milestone for both podcasting and WTF with Marc Maron here.

Literally speaking, Marc probably won’t be able to lock the gates.

Announced on the latest episode of WTF with Marc Maron, Marc has an interview with President Barack Obama set and will post it on Monday. Of course, Obama is in town for fundraising purposes, but we definitely hope that Marc goes through Obama’s fantastic White House Correspondents Dinner sets over the years.

Knowing this is supposed to take place reportedly sometime tomorrow at Maron’s garage, LA’s Eastside will finally get a taste of that Obama traffic.

Rather than rising temperatures leaving less rainfall, Marc Maron might be on to something else that is behind the severe droughts in California that we all might be all a little ashamed to admit.

He confided his “discovery” to us all on Conan this week.

Perhaps, after, we can all be “masters of our domain” and conserve all the water we need here in California.

It was only a matter of a time before a full fledged documentary on podcasting was made.

Co-founders of the LA Podcast Festival, Chris Mancini and Graham Elwood have been put years into making Earbuds, a documentary about the ever burgeoning world of podcasting. They’ve captured how expansive and wonderfully crazy podcasters have gotten over the years as well as interviews with Marc Maron, Chris Hardwick, Jimmy Pardo, Aisha Tyler, Wil Anderson, and way more.

Rather than just talks, this will be walks and talks with Marc Maron.

As part of Vice’s new VICE TV, Marc will be doing the sort of intimate interviewing that has put him at the forefront of podcasting for a new show called “VICE Portraits”.

According to an e-mail to his fans, he’ll be chatting with guests to and fro to a place that may be relevant or challenging to that guest.

Already, we can imagine something like an anything goes chat with Dave Anthony in something that’s enclosed and close quarters perhaps like a submarine.

As you’ve probably gathered from even watching a clip of Entourage, dealing with entertainment agencies can be difficult. Even if you’re just picking one to have represent you in order to move your career forward, trying to figure which one is best is sometimes like trying to pick between apples and other apples of similar, but different shades.

This clip from Maron gives a pretty good estimation of that experience.

Stopping by to promote the new season of Maron, which starts tonight, Marc Maron chatted with Jimmy Fallon about opposite ends of the heckler/troll spectrum that comedians have come to deal with in this era of comedy.

First off, Marc had to delicately eal with a whole family including their baby being in the crowd at a show that he wasn’t aware was all ages.

Then, on the other end, Marc went to great lengths to get back at someone trolling on him Twitter. How far? How about casting someone in your show so you can tell a story about it on late night?

Even if you’re a longtime listener to WTF, you might not even be aware that Marc and a guest are “ignoring” a co-host, Nate Fernald, the whole time.

Fernald was gracious enough to dig up an unedited episode featuring guest Chris D’Elia and none of Nate being cut out. Listen here.
