The Seinfeld Apartment Will Be on Display as an Installation in West Hollywood This Week

Get your shoes that you can slide on the best ready.

As part of a promotion to launch all of Seinfeld on Hulu, there was an installation in NYC of Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment as shown in the legendary sitcom, Seinfeld. 

Now, that installation is coming to LA, starting this Wed. Dec. 16th-Sun. Dec. 20th. It’ll be open to the public for free at 8445 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA from 10AM-7PM.

If you’re an Angeleno, we’re sure this is what will be filling your Instagram feed later this week.

Hulu Renews Jason Reitman’s “Casual” For Season 2

This is yet another reason you should be watching Casual.

With only a few weeks since its premiere on Hulu, Jason Reitman’s foray into episodic series on a streaming service has not only gotten great critical attention, but also an order for a whole second season. 

Such news for online streaming series is good to hear considering Yahoo revealed that they lost $42 million between saving Community and creating Other Space and Sin City Saints yesterday.

If you’re really getting into the dark romantic dramedy of You’re The Worst and Catastrophe, Casual only further proves this latest trend is getting bigger and better.

Keep in mind that Hulu doesn’t release all the episodes all at once, which might actually make your day a little easier to plan for watching Jason Reitman’s latest work, Casual.

It’s been years since Reitman’s last comedy, but we’re more than excited that he’s back in the genre as Thank You For Smoking, Young Adult, and Juno still stick with us. Also, the idea of a Jason Reitman series at Hulu is an intriguing idea all on its own and a sign of the increasing shift of well-regarded filmmakers going to TV.

This week, Jason Reitman’s foray into the wild west of online streaming networks, Casual, will be unveiled and from the looks of this trailer, it should be quite the thing to watch.

It’s a sort of romantic dramedy starring the great Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey, and Tara Lynne Barr that looks to examine the various strata of dating today with Reitman’s unflinching, but graceful touch.

Look for Casual to start on Hulu on Thurs. Oct. 7th.

The much lauded modern romantic comedy series You’re The Worst is about to come back for its second season next week on Wed. Sept. 9th on FXx.

You can see what everyone else has been talking about for months now as all ten episodes of season 1 are now online at Hulu. You’ll have to have a Hulu subscription to watch the back 7 episodes, but we’re sure you either have one or are resourceful enough to get one.

DIFFICULT PEOPLE has just been picked up for a second season!!! Thanks @hulu and to all the difficult people who are watching!!! Woohoo!!!

Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner will return for a second season to cast judgment on whoever falls within their gaze as Hulu has re-upped Difficult People for a second season.

Duos that are best described by the title of this show like Jimmy and Gretchen on You’re The Worst seem to be really in right now and we like it that way.

Hulu Orders Pilot of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “Future Man”

The Rogen/Goldberg comedy empire continues to grow.

This latest project, Future Man, from Seth and Evan focuses on a janitor who is also a world-ranked gamer tasked with saving humans from being wiped out according to visitors from the future.

So, a mix of Terminator and a better, more thought-out version of Pixels? 

Hulu has ordered a pilot, but talent has yet to be attached, which we’ll hope is the normal cavalcade of comedy stars/friends that Rogen and Goldberg routinely get.

“The Hotwives of Las Vegas” Now on Hulu

As Hulu is making a regularly scheduled weekly release of episodes, you won’t have to worry about binge watching a new season of Hotwives… for now.

It’s a new set of Hotwives, mostly played by the same hysterical ladies who comprised The Hotwives of Orlando, bringing up the same sort of “drama” that we all know and love. 

You can watch the first two episodes now on Hulu, which undoubtedly will come so wonderfully close to all the Housewives series that they’re parodying.

Just because Las Vegas is a center for constant growth and expansion shouldn’t lead you to believe that a Hotwives of Las Vegas wouldn’t be any more filled with “wanting no drama” than Hotwives of Orlando.

One of the best satires of reality TV is back in a whole new city just like the Real Housewives series has done time and time again.

Look for a whole new set of hotwives with the returning cast of Casey Wilson, Dannah Phirman, Danielle Schneider, Andrea Savage, Angela Kinsey, and Tymberlee Hill returning as Phe Phe from Hotwives of Orlando on Aug. 18th on Hulu.

Though season 3 of Billy on the Street isn’t coming until the end of October, you’ll be able to get your fix of Billy Eichner as well as Julie Klausner starting next week when their series, Difficult People, premieres on Hulu. The series will start streaming on Aug. 5th to be exact.

Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’s Hulu series Difficult People is coming soon, which means that they’re thankfully starting to make the talk show rounds.  

Their first stop was at Late Night with Seth Meyers and they revealed a little about what their executive producer Amy Poehler “is like behind the scenes”, if “you know” what “we mean”.

“South Park” Renewed Through 2020 By Comedy Central; Makes Big Deal with Hulu

That translates to 23 seasons and well over 300 episodes of the now living legend that is South Park.

For now, Comedy Central has made good on South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s desire to keep the show going as long as they can. They had two seasons to go under their current deal and just got three more ordered, which will roll out over the next 5 years. 

Also, over the next 5 years, Hulu will get to stream all of South Park paying the hefty price tag of $192 million throughout that duration.

Off the top of our head, only The Simpsons and SNL have longer on-going runs as comedy series than South Park.

If there’s a real life Central Perk, this is a logical step for Hulu.

Over a week from now, Hulu will have an exhibition of a real apartment replicated after the one from Seinfeld as part of Hulu securing online streaming rights to every single episode of the legendary series starting Jun. 24th. Visitors will have a chance to look up close and around for a few days only.

To answer your question, you’ll also be able to slide into Jerry’s apartment like Kramer.

Hulu Lands All 9 Seasons of “Seinfeld”, Set to Premiere “Difficult People” This Summer

Anyone feel like Hulu and Netflix are amassing their armies for some sort of all out content war?

In a big, reportedly $130 million deal, Hulu will be exclusively offering all 9 seasons of Seinfeld on SVOD.

On top of that, they’re getting ready to unveil their highly anticipated comedy series “Difficult People” starring Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner, executive produced by Amy Poehler this Summer. This is all in addition to landing streaming rights to AMC shows and Empire.

We’re sure this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Hulu is trying to get going and the start of people trying to borrow people’s Hulu passwords.

You’re going to want to probably rearrange your binge watching or just make more time for it altogether.

Hulu has just signed a big deal with Turner Broadcasting that will give them exclusive online streaming rights to a whole bunch of series from Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.

You’ll get to stream episodes and full seasons of anything from Adventure Time to Robot Chicken to Dexter’s Laboratory to Aqua Teen Hunger Force to Black Jesus to NTSF:SD:SUV to The Venture Brothers to Rick and Morty and way more.

On top of that, the deal includes some live action series from the TBS and TNT, which will include the upcoming Angie Tribeca from Steve and Nancy Carell. 

All of this starts next week on May 1st. The only thing better than this announcement would be if they got Will Forte as Ted Turner to announce it live somewhere.

Netflix and Amazon are stepping up their games with producing original comedy content. The upping of $1 billion more in debt and Woody Allen specifically come to mind. So, naturally, Hulu will be expanding to more comedy series as well after their success with Burning Love and Hotwives.

So, they’ve enlisted the likes of Michaela Watkins who we’re certain you’ve seen in anything from Wanderlust to a plethora of online videos/sketches to Enlightened and so much more as well as the expertise of Jason Reitman in an executive producing role.

A dysfunctional bachelor brother, divorcee sister, and rebel daughter will attempt navigate through the treacherous waters of dating in this series called Casual. 

With guidance from Reitman, we think this will be more than just your average sitcom where estranged family members come together while also trying to find significant others.

The top notch parody of reality TV continues in the Burning Love/Hotwives vein as Hulu has just ordered up another season of Hotwives of Orlando.

In a similar fashion to the way The Real Wives franchise, their source material, has spread itself out, Las Vegas will be the new site of this second season of Hotwives. The cast from season 1 will also not be returning, but we’re sure they’ll get a cast that’s just as stellar as Casey Wilson, Kristen Schaal, Tymberlee Hill, Angela Kinsey, Andrea Savage, Danielle Schneider, Matt Besser, Seth Morris, and more.

UPDATE: Original Hotwives set to return.

We now wonder if the Hotwives universe and Burning Love universe will ever cross.

The Remaining Episodes of “Selfie” Will Be on Hulu

If you’re a fan of the short lived Selfie with Karen Gillan and John Cho, you’ll be able to get some closure by watching the rest of the first and only season on Hulu.

If you read everything we post here at The Comedy Bureau, this move should come as no surprise to you, especially given our thoughts that we posted yesterday on comedy at broadcast networks being assuredly diminished week by week.

It would almost seem as if the Internet has been made into the “land of misfit toys” for comedy programming that networks like NBC and ABC don’t want.

Once, it was a pilot at the USA Network, but now, Difficult People with Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner has gone straight to series over at Hulu.

Amy Poehler is still on board as an executive producer and the show merely follows whatever the hell Eichner and Klausner get themselves into in NYC.

So, all the elements of this show (the cast, producers, premise, and it being at Hulu) promise something that has the potential to be pretty fantastic.
