HBO’s Silicon Valley Made a Real “Pied Piper” Site
There are plenty of reasons why Silicon Valley just got a second season at HBO. One of them is, of course, how damn funny it is.
A perfect example of how funny they are is the faux website they made for the shows own fictional website/application “Pied Piper”.
John Oliver Talks ‘Last Week Tonight’ on ‘Today Show’
There’s been little that we’ve actually gotten to see out of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver that premieres this Sun. Apr. 27th at 11PM on HBO, but, as there’s only a few days before that happens, Oliver is going to appear on plenty of talk shows to promote it.
The first one up is The Today Show (watch it at the link) and, rest assured America, John Oliver does not care about boys asking supermodels out.
HBO Renews ‘Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley’
That’s right, HBO is re-upping both Veep and Silicon Valley. The two fantastic comedy series will be getting a 4th season and a 2nd season respectively as they completely deserve.
This news also kicks off a week where Last Week Tonight with John Oliver premieres on HBO. So, you probably know this or have just figured it out, but HBO is on a roll with comedy.
HBO has put the first episode of their brand new series from Mike Judge, Silicon Valley on YouTube for our convenient viewing pleasure.
Perhaps it was everyone who crashed HBO Go because of the season premiere of Game of Thrones that is the reason for this or perhaps it wasn’t. Either way, we’re glad that it’s up and you should go watch it ASAP.
At 10PM tonight, Comedy Central will be airing Patton Oswalt’s latest comedy special, which, by the way, is fantastic, Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time and HBO will be premiering their highly anticipated series from Mike Judge, Silicon Valley followed by the season premiere of Veep at 10:30PM.
Whether through DVR or some amazing feat of mental concentration, we urge you to watch both. After that, you can catch Robot Chicken’s DC Comics Special II: Villains in Paradise at 11:30PM on Adult Swim.
HBO Developing Kristin Gore-Jay Roach Comedy Project, Women In Space
Jay Roach, in addition to The Brink, is piling more on his plate with Women In Space, written by Kristin Gore, Al Gore’s daughter, which is a comedy project at HBO following women exploring outer space.
You might be interested to know that this isn’t the only space exploration themed comedy in development as Will Ferrell’s Mission Control is a comedy pilot at NBC.
Piers Morgan Tonight’s Katie Nelson Thomson Joins ‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver’
This should make for an interesting mesh as John Oliver is a big departure from Barbara Walters and Piers Morgan and most certainly would never be called a ‘terrible interviewer’.
Season 3 of Veep is coming pretty soon as April approaches (April 6th at 10:30PM on HBO).
Until then, you can enjoy this trailer, which another great rollicking season of one of the best political comedy series ever.
‘Silicon Valley’ EP Alec Berg Inks Rich Overall Deal at HBO
Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley doesn’t even premiere until next month and the executive producer Alec Berg already has an overall deal with HBO.
Of course, he’s written/directed/produced at Curb Your Enthusiasm as more cache for this deal, but we think that this is still a good sign that you should watch Silicon Valley.

HBO Go Launches on PlayStation 3
Hopefully, none of you chucked your PS3 for PS4’s too quickly as HBO GO is now available via your PS3. You can watch your favorite HBO comedies such as GIrls or Veep via your gaming console of probably the last few years.
Don’t get too excited though as you can’t just sign up for HBO Go on your PS3 without a subscription just yet because, well, actually, we don’t really know.
Lena Dunham to Host SNL on Mar. 8th
With this announcement of Lena Dunham hosting SNL next week and the Internet’s proclivity towards parodying Girls (SNL included), we are wondering how many Girls based/themed sketches there will be.
In fact, we’d wouldn’t mind if most of this episode would be a parody of Girls as done by its creator.
You will have to wait until Sun. April 6th for the premiere of Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley with Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller, Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, and Zach Woods.

HBO Orders The Brink with Jack Black and Tim Robbins
So, we’re getting what very well might be a Dr. Strangelove TV series starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins.
Whether or not that’s the case, we’re excited to see what HBO comes out with from this dark comedy series from Benabib Brothers and produced by Jerry Weintraub and Jay Roach.
‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ to Premiere Apr. 27th at HBO
John Oliver’s solo show at HBO will be in fact called ’Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ and will premiere Sun. Apr. 27th at HBO. Let the anticipation get even higher with this official premiere date.
So, just take a moment, make an alarm/event reminder on your mobile device and title said alarm/event reminder Last Week with John Oliver, so you will not miss something that will probably be great two months from now (even though there’s going to be plenty of ads coming).
The 3rd season of Veep unfortunately won’t come until Sun. April 6th at HBO. That is awhile and this teaser announcing that isn’t even 30 seconds long, but it’s still pretty great and will only make you wish for April sooner.
Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays to Premiere on HBO April 19th
The Tony Award winning, record grossing one man show from Billy Crystal, 700 Sundays, is coming to HBO on Sat. Apr. 19th. You might be interested to know that this will be almost 30 years since Crystal’s last special on HBO.
The Colbert Report and Veep Win at WGA Awards
Amidst everything else that was happening over the past few days, The WGA Awards were presented and The Colbert Report and Veep took home prizes for comedy.
So, we’re sure if you’re team lost yesterday and you were really into it, be glad about two of the funniest shows on TV getting writing honors.
Neighbors, Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley, and Grand Budapest Hotel All Playing at SXSW
You’ll probably want catch Neighbors with Seth Rogen, Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley premiering on HBO or Wes Anderson’s latest Grand Budapest Hotel or maybe all three of these if you happen to be at SXSW this year.
Veep Season 3 Premiering on HBO in April
April 6th is specifically when you need block out your evening to watch one of the best comedies on television in Veep.
If you don’t know about it or haven’t seen it, then also mark the date because you need to watch the comedic genius of Armando Ianucci.
For those of us that want to not illegally download/watch TV and don’t have/have friends that have HBO/HBO GO, HBO has the first two episodes of season 3 of Girls up on YouTube.
Watch episode one and two now.
Tonight’s is offering up more than a solid block of TV comedy with the comedy partners of the moment Amy Poehler and Tina Fey back hosting The Golden Globes live at 8PM EST/5PM PST on NBC, which leaves more than enough time on the West coast to catch the premiere of Season 3 of Girls on HBO at 10PM.
We’d say plan accordingly, but it looks like we have already done that for you.
HBO Sets Premiere Dates for ‘Veep’, ‘Silicon Valley’ & More
Too much time has passed from when the last season of Veep ended and for Mike Judge’s live action HBO series Silicon Valley featuring TJ Miller, Kumail Nanjiani, Thomas Middleditch, and more.
Thankfully, there’s premiere dates for both of those shows in April so we know exactly how long we have to fidgeting until they hit the air.
With a 3rd season nearing it’s premiere and the order for a 4th season just ordered, we’re wondering if HBO just likes seeing what Lena Dunham will go for each season with Girls before renewing it.
Either way, we’re glad to get more Girls coming for the next year or so.
During her interview on Letterman, Lena Dunham revealed that she was thoroughly delighted to get a 3rd season of Girls (premiering this Sun. Jan. 12th 10PM on HBO) considering everything she did in season two, suspecting that she had gotten away with enough according to HBO.
With that in mind, Letterman gives her a little more encouragement on doing her own show. Watch the clip here.
