There’s been a lot of unfortunate hullabaloo and controversy, much of which is unwarranted, surrounding the trailers for Paul Feig’s new all-female Ghostbusters.

Let’s this very enjoyable second international trailer put all of that nonsense to rest.

Only a few days ago, the trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters dropped and went viral.

Now, the international trailer has arrived and gives you a few more bits (not enough to spoil anything) for you to enjoy/ponder including more lines from Chris Hemsworth as the secretary.

For awhile now, we’ve been trying to imagine what the trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot with an all female set of Ghostbusters would be like, especially since it’s a pretty great team of McCarthy, McKinnon, Wiig, and Jones.

Finally, the first official trailer is here and we don’t have to imagine anymore. It should be pretty obvious, but Melissa, Kate, Kristen, and Leslie all look great together as Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters Now Included in the National Film Registry

Not that it was going to be an issue, but Egon (played by the late Harold Ramis) will definitely not be forgotten now.

The National Film Registry is an archive kept by the Library of Congress to ensure specific films within the cinematic canon are especially preserved as their significance to the art of film cannot be emphasized enough.

So, the original Ghostbusters, released in 1984, has just made the cut along side a film by one of film’s very first innovators, Eadweard Muybridge and will live on in perpetuity in one of country’s highest regarded collections.

Perhaps, Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, for the potential cultural milestone it’s set to make, might make it in there as well?

James Corden and Reggie Watts Go Ghost Hunting with “Ghost Adventures”

James Corden wanted to know if CBS Television City, where The Late Late Show tapes, is really haunted.

So, he tapped the guys from Ghost Adventures along with Reggie Watts equipped with an inflatable proton pack to find a presence somewhere in the belly of CBS.

We can definitely see this as an installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise.

See, if you dare, what they found here.

Key & Peele Present Ray Parker Jr.’s Other Theme Songs

If you know the name Ray Parker Jr., odds are that you know it from his hit theme song for Ghostbusters. Outside of that, you’d probably have to Google what he’s been up to for the last few decades.

Well, rather than sort through a discography, you can actually just watch one of the last Key & Peele sketches ever to find out what happened to Ray Parker Jr.

With that said, farewell Key & Peele and thanks for all the times we almost couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard at your perfectly crafted, poignant work.

Bill Murray Will Appear in Paul Feig’s “Ghostbusters”

As there is supposedly no connection to the original films, odds are he’s going to be someone besides Venkman.

In any case, Bill Murray making an appearance in the all female Ghostbusters directed by Paul Feig will undoubtedly be a highlight, both for the fact that he’s an original Ghostbuster and he’ll probably have a cameo not unlike the one he had in Zombieland.

One can only ponder if there is hope again for a return as Venkman in another Ghostbusters movie.

The 4th Annual Wayne Federman International Film Festival Might Be The Best One Yet

How does Klown presented by Sacha Baron Cohen or Ghostbusters presented by Paul Scheer sound? Something that’s both great and you would’ve never imagined happening you say?

Well, luckily, The 4th Annual Wayne Federman International Film Festival, the festival that brings comedians and their favorite films together at Cinefamily, has both of the aforementioned events as well as MacGruber star Will Forte presenting a screening of none other than MacGruber.

Every year Federman gets together a great handful of these screenings, but this year’s line-up seems primed to be especially great.

The 4th WFIFF runs from Thurs. Mar. 5th-Sun. Mar. 7th at Cinefamily and you can and should get tickets now.

In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 22, 2016. Save the date!

— Paul Feig (@paulfeig)

January 28, 2015

To perfectly accompany the news of Wiig, McCarthy, Jones, and McKinnon set as the new Ghostbusters, director Paul Feig has tweeted out the release date of the reboot.

Currently, a Power Rangers movie is also being released on the same date. It might be a long shot that we’re calling here, but we’re going to take proton packs over zords on that weekend.

Rather than further the speculation on whether Chris Pratt will end up being a new incarnation of Indiana Jones, revel in the cast of Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon will strap on proton packs and take down ghoulies in what’s supposed to be a scarier take on the franchise.

Looks like Bill Murray was right on with two of the four choices.

Paul Feig Officially Making Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot with Katie Dippold Co-writing

While the fate of a Ghostbusters sequel still hangs in the balance, a new reboot is definitely moving forward with Paul Feig.

Announced today by Feig himself on Twitter, he will be making a reboot of the franchise with an all female Ghostbusters squad. Katie Dippold, writer of The Heat and Parks and Recreation, is set to co-write the script with him, which means there is more traction in The Ghostbusters franchise towards seeing something on screen in the not so distant future.

Hopefully, that’s some time in late 2015/early 2016/soon so the drought of Ghostbusters in our lives can be over.

Dan Aykroyd Wants To Expand Ghostbusters Into an Entire Universe

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

A la Marvel and DC, veteran Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd wants to take the franchise to the next level by expanding the story behind The Ghostbusters from the very start all the way to where they are fighting ghosts.

Whether that will come in the form of more sequels, prequels, TV series, web series, podcasts, social media, etc. has yet to be seen, but the next actual sequel that’s been in development for so long still has yet to be made.

Also, a confirmed return of Bill Murray would be nice.

Ivan Reitman Passing Ghostbusters Director Torch To Someone Else

With the passing of Harold Ramis, director Ivan Reitman felt it appropriate to step down in directing the reboot of the beloved franchise. This means that the reboot of Ghostbusters set to start shooting next year will not have Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis, or Bill Murray.

Before you get skeptical, let the casting decisions and director attachments be made as they may be good ones.
