Teaser for Eric Andre’s “Legalize Everything” Points Out the Absurdity of the Recently Cancelled Show “Cops”

June 12, 2020

The works of Eric Andre over the last few years have been so outlandish and absurdist that one might forget about his stand-up, which is also wonderfully outlandish and absurd. That’ll all be put on display in his upcoming special Legalize Everything coming to Netflix on Tues. Jun. 23rd and you can see how bombastic Andre can get with just himself and a microphone.

This teaser was just released in promotion of the special and just happened to be so timely with all the mass protests again police brutality as Andre satirically paints a picture of how insane the long-running show known as Cops really is. We’ve seen Eric Andre do this bit for so many years, one might wonder why the reality docu-series Cops only got its run ended only now, in June of 2020. Watch it here, and, obviously, set a reminder for Jun. 23rd for Legalize Everything.

Louis CK and Albert Brooks Will Be a Buddy Cop Duo in an Animated Series EP’d by Greg Daniels at TBS

Those are three names that will automatically generate instant, big time buzz about a comedy series. All three are living and working comedy legends and this show seems like the TV version of those rock supergroups, but for comedy fans.

Even though this is an animated series, the presence of CK and Brooks and the existence of Angie Tribeca on TBS leads us to think that this series will be more a little more, if not a lot more, serious than Tribeca.

Aside from all of that, CK will basically be the cop that he was on Parks and Recreation, right?

COPS is Getting Adapted Into Edgy Buddy Comedy Directed by Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer

It’s been over 7 years since Reno 911! did a masterful send up of the long running, real life, docu-series COPS.

Hopefully, this will make up for the 7 years of a comedic version of COPS not being around.

IFC’s latest addition to their development slate is a project from Chelsea Handler’s Borderline Amazing Productions, created and written by Jamie Denbo and Kerri Kenney called Rabbit Hole.

While the Bunny Ranch is known as the most famous brothel in Nevada, Rabbit Hole would follow the second most famous brothel. What that in mind, this could be like Reno 911 is to Cops, but to Cathouse.

Randy Liedtke, who some of you might know as the mastermind behind the Kyle Kinane vs. Pace Foods Twitter fight, is up to his next “piece” if you want to think of his pranks as works of art (that’s how we see it anyway).

He baked cookies in the shape and decorated them in the color of an iPhone (a post on his blog that went viral), then decided to see what would happen if he drove around like he was illegally on his phone.

Well, it turns out, he might possibly be in trouble with the police. More on this story/prank as it develops/unfolds.
