Conan Feels Sorry for The Act That Followed Jesse Williams’ Rousing BET Awards Speech

This past weekend, actor and activist Jesse Williams got the crowd at The BET Awards to their feet with his Humanitarian Award acceptance speech that highlighted the ongoing struggle for racial equality.

Unfortunately, as pointed out on last night’s Conan, the act that followed that speech had too tall of an order in trying to following Williams.

The MTV Movie Awards Show where Hollywood not only lets its hair down, but dyes it in some radical color and put it in spikes. Still, that doesn’t stop certain winners like Comedic Genius Award Recipient Melissa McCarthy giving a heartfelt speech and name checking the women in comedy whose shoulders she stands upon including Carol Burnett, Julia Louis Dreyfus, and even her own mother.

All in all, it was a well-executed speech amidst the controlled chaos of the telecast that also happen to include Melissa McCarthy crowd surfing.

Amy Schumer continues making 2015 her year with not only a GLAMOUR magazine Trailblazer Award win, but a speech that hits home why she won. She stands up for women, body positivity, breaking down stereotypes and does all of that while saying something that many standards and practices departments would have a field day with.

When TJ Miller’s name was called for the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award at last night’s Critics’ Choice Television Awards, TJ, one for delightful mischief at awards ceremonies, took upon himself to do a bit reminiscent of his Conan in Chicago appearance.
