Kevin Hart, Whitney Wolfe, Chris Christie, and Ryan Adams will be the first guests, in order, on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah that kicks off next week.

Having your first guests that are comedians, presidential candidates, and from the tech sector seem to be popular right now as Stephen Colbert had Elon Musk, Amy Schumer, and Jeb Bush in his first week at The Late Show.

Be sure to catch Trevor’s debut as The Daily Show host on Mon. Sept. 28th at 11PM on Comedy Central.

No one in NYC is safe from Billy Eichner running up to them and forcing them into one of the many incredibly subjective pop culture games on Billy on the Street.

Even when Anderson Cooper is “doing” a “report” on CNN on said phenomenon, he should check over his shoulder more often.

Look for the new season of Billy on the Street on truTV on Thurs. Oct. 8th at 10:30PM.

Conan O’Brien attempted taking on a video game controller once again for another round of his renowned segment known as Clueless Gamer.

This time, Conan made it special by having the one and only Tony Hawk play the eponymous game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 along with Lil’ Wayne.

What makes this episode even more enticing is that O’Brien, who has always professed how he’s not particular good at video games, challenges Lil’ Wayne for a high score.

(via Deadline)

It might just get to the point where you’ll hear Amy Poehler’s name in the executive producer side of things as much as you would with sitcom power brokers Bill Lawrence or Chuck Lorre.

She’s already got Broad City and Difficult People on the resume of her Paper Kite Productions and two recent pilot commitments bump her up to three pilots total for Paper Kite this pilot season alone. Jordan Roter and Nisha Ganatra have put pilot commitments under the Paper Kite banner, respectively, for Aunt Jill at ABC and Pre-Madonna at NBC. Roter’s Aunt Jill will star Mo Collins, who many will remember as Parks and Recreation’s Joan Callamezzo.

This is on top of her still being on screen and having her online brand Smart Girls. If you already though Poehler was a force to be reckoned with, take note that she’s now just going ahead and reckoning with the biz.

Even though she was great in Greenberg, which is set in LA, Greta Gerwig is the go to NYC indie dramedy darling.

Frances Ha, Mistress America, and Lola Versus all follow Gerwig as she is going through some tumultuous phase of her life while in NYC and it’s proved to be a winning formula.

So, in this latest edition of Greta in NYC called Maggie’s Plan from Rebecca Miller, Gerwig gets into a love triangle with a couple played by Ethan Hawke and Julianne Moore and decides that she wants to be artificially inseminated as part of complicating the whole relationship.

It was playing at The Toronto International Film Festival and got snatched up for distribution by Sony Pictures Classics. We’d definitely like to see it in theaters soon as we’re still in the afterglow of how great Mistress America was.

Showtime Developing 80s NYC Restauranteur Dark Comedy from Alan Cumming, “Florent”

(via Deadline)

Along with the Jim Carrey 70s LA comedy scene project, Showtime seems to be getting into period pieces right now.

HBO has got enjoy a plethora of critical and commercial success with their comedies as of late with Veep, Silicon Valley, and Girls. We can only imagine that Showtime wants to join more in the premium cable comedy boom, probably prompting some really interesting projects that they’ve put in development.

NYC’s Meatpacking district in the 80s will be the setting for a project entitled Florent from Alan Cumming. It follows a period of real life restauranteur Florent Morellet wherein he opened a french restaurant in the aforementioned district, known for the crazy melting pot of people that crowded around it.

It’s really early in the process, but there are a lot of good ingredients at work here.
