Guy Who Repeatedly Challenges Legality of ‘Ladies Only Nights’ in Court Sues Iliza Shlesinger for Barring Him from “Girls Night In” Show at Largo

It seems that there is legal precedent under California law for this suit to exist (the story would likely be much different if it was a private party or, perhaps, a free show), but this also looks like a very twisted, flawed understanding of how to bring about equality between the sexes by the men suing Shlesinger.

Men just can’t have enough, can they?

Whatever happens will be an important distinction for live entertainment, especially, in regards to comedy shows going forward.

You, however, can take a tiny sliver of solace in the fact that the plaintiff’s name is George St. George.

I, Tonya Is Every Bit as Good As You’ve Been Hearing

Really, Margot Robbie continues to dazzle here in the states as an Aussie actress who loves and excels at playing complex, conflicted women. Allison Janney notches in what will undoubtedly be one of her most memorable performances in her career as Tonya Harding’s tough love obsessed mother. By the end, you very likely might have a lot more sympathy and empathy for Tonya Harding.

Also, screenwriter Steven Rogers’ decision to tell the story from everyone’s side (as they all seem to disagree wildly on how things happens) really made this one hell of a biopic and a reminder of truly crazy this whole affair was. Director Craig Gillespie gives a stylish panache with quick, swooping camera making the whole film a real ride through Harding’s unfortunately rough and tumble life.

With all of that said, I, Tonya stands alongside with The Disaster Artist, Lady Bird, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri as one of the strongest classes of comedy in an awards season in a very, very long time. It’s at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes if you rely on that score more than what we say.

Anyhow, go see I, Tonya ASAP if you haven’t already. Check showtimes here.

Feral Audio Is Closing Its Doors and Brand New Podcast Network SBI: Audio Will Be Picking Up Where They Left Off

As a result of being publicly tagged as an abuser and corroborating the story posted by an ex-girlfriend, Feral Audio founder Dustin Marshall has decided to end the independent podcast network he created in order to check into a rehabilitation facility.

(You can read the statement from Abby, lead singer of Potty Mouth and Dustin’s ex-girlfriend, about the abusive relationship and Dustin’s response here and here respectively.)

As Feral Audio is now being dissolved and its employees let go, the fate of such podcasts like Harmontown, Dumb People Town, Suicide Buddies, and more were up in the air.

However, Starburns Industries has decided to step in and create SBI: Audio, a new podcast network where, it would seem, podcasts that were on Feral will get to live on.

This was posted earlier today from Starburns Industries FB page:

“Starburns is excited to announce the launch of SBI:Audio! SBI: Audio is the new podcast venture from #Starburns Ind.

#Harmontown, #DumbPeopleTown, #DuncanTrussell’s Family Hour, & more, will be migrating to the new service along side a bunch of amazing new offerings.

Stay tuned, more to come in 2018!

??#EetzaGoodaShow”

More details on the newly formed SBI: Audio (and what they have planned and which other podcasts will hop over there) will undoubtedly be coming soon and we will report on them as soon they come out.

A few things to get really excited about here is that the one and only David Wain is at the helm, the cast includes all of your favorite comedy stars (Matt Walsh, Will Forte, Jon Daly, Rick Glassman, John Gemberling, etc.) and they have Martin Mull playing a modern day Doug Kenney, the co-founder of National Lampoon, that is a bit argumentative throughout the telling of the story of National Lampoon’s rise to prominence.

See for yourself in the trailer for A Futile and Stupid Gesture, then look for it on Netflix on Friday, January 26th.

“Him or Her” comes from Travon Free and focuses on what life is like for a bisexual black man in this day and age. The subject matter will undoubtedly be eye-opening and possibly a great window into intersectionality for those who are still struggling with the term.
