As you probably already know first hand, Pixar has a way of making all of us, even the most hardened of adults cry and laugh all within one movie. Inside Out like much of the rest of Pixar’s filmography are great examples of this.

This new trailer for The Good Dinosaur shows that Pixar’s latest release will probably keep that tradition going quite well.

It’s been more than couple of years since we’ve seen an hour long comedy special from the great Paul F. Tompkins. Of course, that has a lot to do with him churning out his other great works like No, You Shut Up!, Dead Authors, Spontaneanation, Superego, Thrilling Adventure Hour, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and way more.

However, the wait, even though there has been plenty of Paul to go around in the meantime, for a new Tompkins special is over as Crying and Driving will premiere this Sat. Oct. 10th at 11PM on Comedy Central.

Stephen Colbert Takes a Polygraph Test to Further Discover “Who Am Me?”

Don’t be surprised if the puppets on No, You Shut Up! w/Paul F. Tompkins end up making more sense than both candidates and their corresponding pundits.

Fusion made the real smart move by bringing back No, You Shut Up! for a fourth season that will be primed to handle the 2016 presidential race and its accompanying chaos.

The new season will run with 25 episodes and premieres on Feb. 4th, 2016. For those who can’t wait that long, and we know that you’re out there, two “special reports are set for Nov. 5th and Nov. 12th at 10PM on Fusion’s schedule.

We hope this means that the CW knows something great that the rest of us don’t.

While it’s been quite the journey for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend starring Rachel Bloom, the show seems to be set for a great start at the CW. It’s set to premiere next week on Oct. 12th and already has scripts ordered from the network for a fuller first season.

With this doubling down already, the edgy romantic comedy musical series, which has been a been difficult for other networks to apparently wrap their head around, has something good going before it even hits screens everywhere.

This week, Jason Reitman’s foray into the wild west of online streaming networks, Casual, will be unveiled and from the looks of this trailer, it should be quite the thing to watch.

It’s a sort of romantic dramedy starring the great Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey, and Tara Lynne Barr that looks to examine the various strata of dating today with Reitman’s unflinching, but graceful touch.

Look for Casual to start on Hulu on Thurs. Oct. 7th.

Taika Waititi Getting Set to Direct “Thor: Ragnarok”

In Thor’s standalone saga within the Marvel film canon, Marvel has gone, for its directors, from an accomplished Shakespearean actor/director to a veteran TV director to now one of the funniest writer/director/actors to come out of New Zealand.

Taika Waititi, the writer/director of the amazing vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows, is indeed getting set to direct the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi will be following the likes of Kenneth Branagh, whose name was pretty much synonymous with Shakespeare for much of his career, and Alan Taylor, who made his bones by directing several premium cable shows for many years.

With Branagh’s background in Shakespeare, it stands to reason that he was brought in for the first Thor to bring a sort of legitimacy to the world of Asgard and Thor himself. So, along these lines, we’re wondering if Taika will make the third installment of Thor, the funniest Thor given his expertise.

Thor: Ragnarok isn’t set for release until 2017, so we have a while to wait and see.

Stephen Colbert Is Able to Turn on Dime from Some Profound Words on UCC Shooting to Jokes

One of the greatest challenges of late night is the handling of national or global tragedies that occurred a night before. As all late night show are comedy shows, it can be difficult to find the right level of sincerity, the duration of time of which you should address the topic, and how to overall go about it without creating a weird tension that keeps the comedy part of the show off balance.

Stephen Colbert not only does a great job in bringing up the Umpqua Community College shooting in Oregon and addressing it, but he manages to almost seamlessly get right into the comedy without missing a beat. It’s another example of how Colbert is filling some big shoes at The Late Show pretty well.

Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Little Stranger not only have a project set up at NBC, but they have Jack Burditt’s project following a recently retired athlete who becomes difficult as a result of being retired.

Rest assured, the world will be watching, either tonight or online tomorrow morning, Taran Killam’s Donald Trump impression that should be running throughout the entire season as much as whatever crazy thing that Miley Cyrus’s going to wear.

In the case of Star Wars, Yoda’s maxim is that “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

In the case of Dan Telfer, fear leads to the solid emotional core of his comedy and what has driven the laughs over three albums without heading to a veritable “dark side”. His third album off of AST Records, Oceans of Panic, continues being a hilarious voice that speaks to a sort of collective consciousness of anxiety even when Dan is talking about how he’s anxious of just animals or sports.

With his life and well-being constantly in danger, one might wonder how the close of the second season of Review might come about without just outright killing host Forrest MacNeil and living up to the fight at the end of season one.

Well, the show ingeniously has Forrest review conspiracy theories, which leads him to create a conspiracy theory about the reviews he’s assigned. That’s as much as we’ll say for fear of spoiling of anything else.

ABC Is Developing a Marvel Universe Based Comedy, “Damage Control”

As ABC already has Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter and NBC has their own DC universe sitcom in development, it only seems inevitable that this would happen.

Damage Control will follow the folks that have to clean-up the mess that always comes with superheroes saving the world from potential annihilation. It’s not unlike NBC’s DC project, Powerless, which follows the employees of an insurance company in the DC universe.

This project comes from veteran producer Ben Karlin who has a career ranging from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report to Modern Family.

It will be fascinating if both Powerless and Damage Control go to series, furthering the rivalry between DC and Marvel.
