Jake Kroeger has over 30 years of life almost entirely devoid of dating anyone seriously.

Rather than go on dating apps to try and solve this remedy, he’s going to do the next best thing by taking an entire audience on a date at the Lyric Hyperion in Silverlake that also doubles a live comedy show (that’s the next best thing, right?).

If you’re in on this because you have a crush on Jake or just want to give a desperate person some acceptance and validation, you should go get your tickets here.

You’ve probably enjoyed some of their work on Adult Swim such as Unedited Footage of a Bear.

We would hope by now that you have come to watch, enjoy, and love Lindsay Ames’ My Diary show as we have.

Lindsay is doing a very special edition of her show this month that ups the ante of performers sharing personal diaries entries by getting them “baked” before they take the stage. We can’t speak for the line-up reading their most personal secrets from the younger days while high, but this ought to be a great time for any and all in attendance.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Go get them here.

Between hosts Johnny Pemberton and DJ Douggpound and guests on this inaugural show’s line-up Howard Kremer and Brent Weinbach, there have been so much of their comedic work that has seen the light of day and enjoyed thoroughly by many.

Of course, as “the biz” is indeed a business, they have plenty of projects that were passed on and PASSED offers all of them a chance to present what some suits ignored in the past.

With all of that said, go get your tickets here.

Given the penchant for reboots, revivals, etc. these days, we’re cautious to announce any sort of “swan song”.

That being said, one of our favorite improv teams, Boss Jr. (Matt Rath, Naomi Villa, and Jake Dunnington) will be having their final show at The Clubhouse in Los Feliz next Wednesday, September 5th around 8:15PM.

Truly, we’ve enjoyed the trio get weird, go deep, and still keep an air of silliness abound and the teams that they’ve booked over the years on their nice and tight improv showcase.

So, join them for what will be (at least for the time being) one last go.

The once long standing westside video rental store Vidiots lives on as they’ll be doing a special Labor Day Weekend event at Dynasty Typewriter, The Five Minutes Game.

If you’re not familiar with the game (mostly because you probably weren’t on a tour bus with a VCR or DVD player and a bunch of free time), The Five Minutes Game involves watching five minutes of a movie and then, after that five minutes, deciding whether or not continue to watch that movie.

This edition on Monday, September 3rd at 5PM will allow you, the audience, to go through 5 minutes of a surprise line-up of movies, curated by none other than the Vidiots, and then pick your favorite one to watch. Also, it’ll be a holiday potluck!

One of the most legendary “best/worst” movies of all time is Plan 9 From Outer Space.

So, don’t miss a chance to watch the movie in it’s original form at the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo on Saturday, Sept. 8th at 8:15PM.

Then, a month later, you can (and should) watch Dana Gould do a live reading of the film at Largo with a cast he’s lovingly assembled of some of your favorite comedy folks. That includes: Bobcat Goldthwait, David Koechner, Janet Varney, Laraine Newman, Kevin MacDonald, Matt Braunger, Rob Zabrecky, Ron Lynch, Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker, Jr., Ken Daly, G Charles Wright, and Eban Schletter! This live reading of Plan 9 from Outer Space will be on Thurs., Oct. 11th at 8PM.

Tickets for the screening will be $10 and available at the box office at Old Town Music Hall.

Tickets for the live reading are $35 and can be bought right here right now.

If you can swing it, try and pull off seeing both as an alignment of such events might be as rare as Plan 9 from Outer Space itself.
