For years, Conan O’Brien has ridiculed his Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky for how Italian he tries to be.

Tonight, a Conan Without Borders travel special will showcase O’Brien taking that dynamic to the next level by actually galavanting around Italy with Schlanksy being as serious and sobering and stonefaced as only one Jordan Schlansky can be.

Conan in Italy premieres tonight at 10PM on TBS.

Claudia O’Doherty Showcases Her Acting Range on Conan as She Is Now Unemployed

Unquestionably, one of the best parts of Love on Netflix is Bertie played fantastically by Claudia O’Doherty.

As the series is coming to close, O’Doherty, during her Conan appearance this week, “revealed” that she’s looking for work and can do more than just be a expertly silly Aussie that has a particular talent for not breaking character.

Really, more Claudia O’Doherty in the world is just a good thing. Watch this bit here.

Michael Longfellow marked his very first late night stand-up set by introducing his real life experience in a sort of Odd Couple situation, though made much more odd by who he is actually roommates with.

That started off a very smooth and let do an overall charming set from Longfellow on Conan. Watch the whole thing here.

In 2018, Conan O’Brien still keeps steady with the carrying the late night stand-up torch by not only frequently featuring comedians at the end of an episode, but highlighting acts that are more than ready for their first late night appearance.

Earlier this week, we all got to enjoy the delightful Debra DiGiovanni and last night, Alex Edelman, an internationally acclaimed American comedian, got to put his best foot forward on late night for the very first time on Conan.

See the sharp comedic stylings that has brough Edelman through this very circuitous route here.

Conan O’Brien’s Next #ConanWithoutBorders Stop Will Be in Italy with Very Special Guest Associate Producer Jordan Schlansky

Well, here’s a wish that has been granted that we didn’t even know we wanted.

Conan O’Brien is taking the infamous Jordan Schlansky to Italy, which just so happens to be one of Jordan’s favorite places on earth, and they’re seeing how long they can tolerate each other amidst beautiful architecture, fine dining, and everything else Italy has to offer.

If you need a refresher of why this is important milestone in the canon of Conan O’Brien’s late night history, please refresh your memory/enjoy yourself with an entire Team Coco page dedicated to the remote segments involving Jordan Schlansky here: http://teamcoco.com/jordan

Jena Friedman absolutely pulls no punches in this stand-up set from last night’s Conan even though she gives the veil of being of quiet concern the whole time. It’s subtly vicious, which is great specialty of Jena’s.

She even urges us all to take Nazis down a few notches because that’s a thing that we all have to do again.

Please look, listen, and laugh heartily here.

Just a friendly reminder that one of America’s best unofficial goodwill ambassadors, Conan O’Brien, will showcase his trip to Haiti and what we’re sure to be the plenty of hijinks he had the whole way through.

Diplomacy through late night hijinks might just be one of our best bets right now for America.

If you take a popular TV segment format like having celebrities join a host in a car and sing karaoke or hang out, you can expect Conan O’Brien and Team Coco to do something much more subversive should they choose to take on a style of said segment.

Well, they did exactly that with one of the world’s most recognizable stars, Tom Cruise.

Carpool Karaoke and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee can eat their heart out while Conan pulls an honestly gutsy parody. Watch it here.

You should be going to the show whether it’s at UCB or Largo anyway, but they do have Throwing Shade’s Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi on Wednesday, September 13th and the living comedy legend himself, Conan O’Brien on Thursday, October 5th.

Tickets are $30 and you can (and should) get them here and/or here respectively.

It’s appearances like these that make us think Nikki Glaser won’t wait to long before she gets another TV show of her own if she chooses to go down that road a third time.

One interesting thing to note…

We’re not sure if you know this or not, but, often times, when stand-up comedians go on a late night show and sit to do a panel interview, they’re still “doing a set”, but doing so in the clever disguise of an actual conversation/interview.

Nikki Glaser, who has done plenty of wonderful, traditional late night stand-up sets, give a great example of how one weaves a set list of jokes through an actual conversation on Conan.

See for yourself here and here.

While not officially sanctioned by some internationally governing body or national organization responsible for American diplomacy abroad, Conan O’Brien is made himself into one of the best ambassadors the good ol’ U.S. has got.

So, Conan continues to go to places that are relevant and, in many ways, offer an opportunity to enlighten people as to what’s going on in other countries while getting to be a tall clown.

Announced yesterday, the latest trip is coming soon this September and will be to Israel. Watch the announcement here.

Conan Re-Ups with TBS Through 2022

Conan and Team Coco have secured their place at TBS for the next four years and are aiming to expand the mutli-platform outreach of Conan beyond just the talk show through the cable network.

There are no specifics on how many international trips that Conan will get to take under the banner of “Conan Without Borders” or how might Clueless Gamer grow, but we imagine that plenty of good stuff is in the works.

On the announcement of this renewal, O’Brien commented, “The TV landscape has changed dramatically since I inherited the traditional talk show format in 1993. In the past few years I’ve stumbled across many new and exciting ways of connecting with my audience, and I’m eager to evolve my show into something leaner, more agile, and more unpredictable. I also want a pony.”

When doing stand-up on late night, there is a lot of pressure to deliver your set perfectly just as you’ve rehearsed for dozens and dozens of times over.

Ian Abramson upped the ante by performing his late night set on last night’s Conan with a shock collar designed for dogs and giving the remote control that operates the collar to a random audience member.

It’s one of the more weird and wonderful sets of stand-up that you’ll have seen in your lifetime.

As we’ve said before, there are a handful of people that get to go on late night talk shows and bring enough of their own spunk to make for several memorable moments that will endure the test of time. Bill Murray, Stephen Wright, and Charlyne Yi come to mind for us in this regard.

With several appearances with ridiculous get ups and entrances, including this most recent one from last night’s Conan, we’ll add Adam Pally to that list of who you should always catch on late night.

Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if people started cosplaying with Pally’s various costumes over the years.
