Sept. 8th needs to be here already, so we can also get to the week of Sept. 14th.

Stephen Colbert has a more than solid line-up for his week at The Late Show. His second week will also be something to be sure to tune in for.

Emily Blunt, Justice Stephen Breyer,The Dead Weather, Jake Gyllenhaal, Run The Jewels with TV On The Radio, Kevin Spacey, Carol Burnett with comedians Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, Willie Nelson, Naomi Watts, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Lupita Nyong’o, Sen. Stephen Colbert To Have Recurring Segment on “The Late Show” To Investigate Who He Really Is

August 28, 2015
Uncategorized

(via Time)

Of course, as it’s a segment from Stephen Colbert, it will be called Who Am Me?

It’s now common knowledge that Stephen Colbert played the character of a conservative pundit as host of The Colbert Report. Ever since he lead the Colbert Nation, fans and detractors alike wondered what the real Colbert was like.

Well, Stephen is planning to take on that query head on by having professionals investigate his past, talking to various people Colbert knew over the years, and seeing how that brought on the Stephen Colbert we know today. The findings will presented in a series of segments titled Who Am Me?, as mentioned above, on The Late Show.

Given how long he kept the Colbert character going, let’s see if this is all a long con when Stephen starts his tenure at The Late Show on Sept. 8th.

Elon Musk and Amy Schumer To Also Be Guests on First Week of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

We are already trying to imagine how the panel interview would go with Musk and Colbert in two weeks.

The premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is just over two weeks away and in addition to George Clooney, Jeb Bush, and Kendrick Lamar, you’ll know also get to look forward to Amy Schumer, Elon Musk, Scarlett Johansson, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, Toby Keith, Stephen King, and Troubled Waters being guests on the show.

As you all are, we’re curious about the latitude that Colbert will employ with his wit and persona. This line-up of guests should make for a great display of how Colbert will establish that.

It’s more proof that you shouldn’t worry, if you are for some reason, about Colbert going from The Colbert Report to The Late Show.

Emily Lazar, Barry Julien, Opus Moreschi, Jay Katsir, Matt Lappin, Paul Dinello, Jim Hoskinson, and Tanya Bracco were all writers, producers, directors, etc. over at The Colbert Report and will resume similar duties at Stephen’s new gig at The Late Show at CBS.

The anticipation towards his premiere on Sept. 8th somehow is still growing even though it’s pretty damn high already.

From a Michigan public access show to The Late Show to the co-host of The Global Citizen Festival, Stephen Colbert will have had quite the year.

Only after a couple of weeks of taking helm at The Late Show, Stephen Colbert will co-host the gigantic Global Citzen Festival with Hugh Jackman being held in NYC’s Central Park. The likes of Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Beyonce, and Ed Sheeran will be playing the festival in support of ending global poverty by the year 2030.

Sounds pretty great, huh?

Just watch Colbert make the announcement here and find out what you might need to do to get tickets.

Jeb Bush and Kendrick Lamar Will Also Be First Guests on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

.@JebBush will be on #LSSC Sept. 8! My first GOP candidate! Luckily I do 200 shows a year, so I think I can fit them all.

In addition to George Clooney, Stephen Colbert will very likely get to show off the full range off what his era of The Late Show can and will do by also having GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush as well as one of his favorite rap artists, Kendrick Lamar, on the premiere episode.

We’re sure you have Sept. 8th marked on one of your calendars, but you should just double mark it for what’s sure to be a pretty great inaugural episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

So, prepare to see this promo and this promo on TV a lot…

…as well as this promo in theaters a whole lot in the coming weeks.

George Clooney Will Be The First Guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

George Clooney will be my first-ever #LSSC guest on September 8th! Could one of you let him know?

The selection of a first guest, as many of you know, aids in setting the tone for your run on a late night talk show. The selection of George Clooney in the first episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert might be surprising, but we’re sure that Clooney will probably be game for whatever Colbert has cooked up come the date of the premiere on Sept. 8th.

Certainly, he’ll fare better than Eminem did on the public access show Colbert guest hosted.

Looks Like We All Survived Having Lunch with Stephen Colbert in Part 5 of “Lunch with Stephen”

When “lunch” turned out to be a cover for something kind of more sinister, we didn’t know how deep the rabbit hole would go in just eating with Stephen Colbert at lunch time.

Yet, it looks like, according to the final installment of Lunch with Stephen, we have all made it through the week safely along with our chips intact.

Well, we’ll all be safe until Sept. 8th when his Late Show debut premieres.

Just in case, here are parts one, two, three, and four of Lunch with Stephen.

Making it almost a week in having lunch with Stephen Colbert has been definitely more than we bargained for, or maybe, subconsciously what we bargained for.

It’s intense, outlandish, and without any breaks of any kind. Watch part 4 of Lunch with Stephen here to see what we’re talking about.

By the way, anyone think this is all an elaborate ruse for Stephen to get our chips that come with our sandwich?

We’re All Getting in Possibly Too Deep in Part 3 of Having Lunch with Stephen Colbert

In part 3 of Lunch with Stephen, Stephen Colbert has made lunch more like a scene from a new Bourne movie.

“Enjoy”/proceed with caution in “grabbing lunch with”/watching the latest transmission from Stephen here.

Also, remember 1-800 726 0944 is a number you only call for emergencies, though you can apparently leave a message.

Even though many of us are already charmed by one Stephen Colbert and are waiting as patiently as we can for his Late Show debut, he still manages to further charm and build his audience with all of his online content that he has released over the last several weeks.

Case in point: try not enjoying “Lunch with Stephen”, which will be done in 5 parts, each day, this week.

Stephen Colbert Challenges Neil De Grasse Tyson About Pluto No Longer Being a Planet

As the very first images of Pluto came in yesterday, Stephen Colbert was amazed at its surface as well as the idea that it’s no longer a planet.

In fact, he summoned Neil DeGrasse Tyson to try really understand why Pluto isn’t getting the love it deserves.

Watch it here.

Oh, in case you haven’t figured it out, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert looks like it’ll be pretty great.

Stephen Colbert Rides in a Car Made of Wood with Jerry Seinfeld on “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”

Also, in a rare, but ultimately very Colbert-like move, Stephen takes the wheel and attempts driving this very deep cut of a British sports car.

The latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee juxtaposes two living comedy legends in Stephen Colbert and Jerry Seinfeld side-by-side in a wooden sports car. In a couple of months, Colbert will not get to be so mobile and free-flowing with his interviews when starting at The Late Show.

The two find themselves in plenty of great awkward moments including Colbert finding himself quoting Neutral Milk Hotel and attempts at lulls.

Watch it all here.

Stephen Colbert Guest Hosts Michigan Public Access Show “Only in Monroe”

As we’ve still got months to go before the premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Colbert has thankfully gotten restless enough, like one Chris Gethard, to do something like step in to guest host a public access show Only in Monroe in Monroe, Michigan.

So, Colbert gave us either what is a great, hysterical preview of what The Late Show would be like without broadcast network production value and a live audience or a wonderful imagining of what a show that’s somewhere between Pawnee Today, Between Two Ferns, and The Colbert Report hosted by Stephen Colbert would be like.

Maybe call it “Between Two Pieces of Michigan Wicker with Stephen Colbert”?

In either case, it’s great and it’s amazing that guest Eminem seems befuddled as he apparently looks like he’s trying to figure out if Colbert is still doing a bit.

Let’s hope he makes good on saying that he’s coming back to Only in Monroe in August.

Watch Colbert back in full form here.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Gets First Late Night Jokes on The SCOTUS Decision on Gay Marriage

June 27, 2015
Uncategorized

That’s right. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert isn’t on until September, but Stephen Colbert managed to be the first late night show host to have a segment of some sort weighing in on the milestone in U.S. history.

Such big news as yesterday’s Supreme Court decision that effectively made gay marriage legal across the country is usually met by comedy’s first responders (outside of social media) through the world of late night. We’re sure all comedians everywhere had something to say about it, especially regarding the dissenting opening from Scalia.

However, several most late night shows don’t tape on Friday like Conan, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Late Late Show with James Corden, @midnight with Chris Hardwick and The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. The few that do tape on Fridays such as Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Seth Meyers opted for reruns this week.

In fact, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was scheduled to be the only late night show with a new episode, but he injured his hand to the point of needing surgery. Thus, he canceled last night’s taping.

SNL is on hiatus, so we were thinking we would have to wait for John Oliver to comment on this great moment on Last Week Tonight on Sunday.

Yet, leave it to the one and only Stephen Colbert to come up with an on-point remote segment from his desk that would otherwise be the type of opening monologue you’d be looking for on his era of The Late Show.

Watch Colbert continue to prove that he will do a bang up job on The Late Show right here.

This election year just got a whole lot more interesting as far as comedy is concerned. Yesterday, Donald Trump announced that he is going to run for President of The United States, which very much seemed like a present from the comedy gods.

Certainly, Stephen Colbert like the rest of the comedy world is already setting up for what will be a tornado of ridiculous soundbites and comb overs as you can see in Colbert’s announcement about Trump’s announcement done in the style of Trump’s announcement.

After announcing his bandleader last week, Stephen Colbert has to come up with an iconic theme to kick off his era of The Late Show.

Let’s hope Colbert keeps making videos every week until September.

Stephen Colbert Appoints Veteran Jazz Musician Jon Batiste as His “Official Musical Friend”

June 5, 2015
Uncategorized

Based off what we’ve read, it looks like Stephen Colbert is going to make jazz as popular as it has ever been since Whiplash.

Piece by piece, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is coming together as Colbert has announced veteran jazz virtuoso Jon Batiste as his bandleader or rather, his “official musical friend”.

So, rather than going the route of having the likes of Fred Armisen or Reggie Watts as a bandleader with comedy and music being both their fortes, Colbert is going for a dyed in the wool musician/straight man to play off of.

It’s just another yet thing that makes September seem further and further away.

Unless you’ve gotten to be one of the privileged few to sit in on one of the panel interviews he’s hosted or the commencement speeches he’s given, you haven’t seen much of Stephen Colbert since he left The Colbert Report at the end of last year.

Well, Stephen has a message for you and the rest of the world that he’s ready to come back with his new gig as the host of The Late Show at CBS.

Actually, he’s ready to come back three months from now on Tues. Sept. 8th.

Until then, you can watch that message again and again and again, follow @colbertlateshow on Twitter, like the FB page, and get the free Colbr app.

Hopefully, that’ll be enough to tide you over until Colbert’s next fun possibly facial hair related update.
