John Mulaney’s appearance last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers covered a whole lot of ground that we found out the elements that were the catalyst for Stefon, a wonderful story about a farm not to have a wedding at, and a nice brief preview of his upcoming Fox sitcom Mulaney (at min. 28).
Not that you’d be surprised, but this is all pretty great and worth watching now.
Not only can you watch the very funny Joe Mande do some of his stand-up from his set this week at Late Night with Seth Meyers, you can hear about that one time he fell into a job at Maury.
These mini game shows on Late Night with Seth Meyers are pretty great. Just the little details like Michelle Wolf presenting new cards and random, bizarre, unannounced rules are delightful.

Seth Meyers has kept up a nice routine of featuring stand up on Late Night since he’s taken over. As of right now, Hannibal Buress, Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Che, and Eugene Mirman have performed on The Tonight Show.

Late Night with Seth Meyers has just closed out its first week pretty well as far as new late night hosts go.
In fact, the end of the week saw their very first stand up performance featuring the very funny Michael Che.
After a big week with Jimmy Fallon taking over The Tonight Show, Seth Meyers will be having his big moment in delving into the late night arena with hosting Late Night.
Also on tonight, The Pete Holmes Show will be returning from its winter hiatus.
The best part of this is that you won’t have to miss either if you’re watching it live on TV as The Pete Holmes Show is on TBS at 12AM (and is only a half hour) and Late Night with Seth Meyers premieres at 12:35AM on NBC.
Seth Meyers lined up his first week of guests nice and big, but it’s even better to hear that the first comedian to perform under the banner of Late Night with Seth Meyers will be the very funny Michael Che.
Monday, Feb. 24: Guests Amy Poehler, Vice President Joe Biden and musical guest A Great Big World.
Tuesday, Feb. 25: Guests Kanye West and author Robyn Doolittle (Crazy Town: The Rob Ford Story).
Wednesday, Feb. 26: Guests Kelly Ripa, Brad Paisley and musical guest Brad Paisley.
Thursday, Feb. 27: Guests Lena Dunham, Anthony Mackie and musical guest John Mayer Trio.
Friday, Feb. 28: Guests Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart, Sophia Bush and comedian Michael Che.
Also, Fred Armisen will be leading what will be known as The 8G Band (referencing the studio they’re performing in, not $8000), the rest of which you can get to know here.
Fred Armisen To Lead House Band at Late Night With Seth Meyers
Well, Late Night with Seth Meyers just got a whole lot more fun. There was a lot of speculation as to what Meyers would do with Late Night in terms of music, especially since Jimmy Fallon did so many musical bits and had the roots. Some said that he might not even have a band.
Armisen could be a nice comedic balance for Meyers not unlike when Fred would do characters on SNL’s Weekend Update.
Billy Eichner running and screaming, Amy Poehler, Lena Dunham, Seth Meyers, bouncing, and more are all encompassed in this trailer for the latest season Billy on the Street. In other words, it’s what we were hoping for in new episodes of Billy on the Street and can’t wait until it premieres Mar. 12th 11PM on Fuse.
SXSW To Have Panels with Seth Meyers, Portlandia, Pete Holmes, and More
The soon to be newly minted Late Night with Seth Meyers as well as the still brand spanking new Pete Holmes Show as well as Portlandia will all be making an appearance at SXSW this year in panel form.
That means that this is only the tip of the iceberg and you should probably get a badge ASAP before this happens in March.
Amy Poehler To Be Fallon’s Last Guest, Meyers’ First Guest on “Late Night”
Whether a link between eras of comedy at SNL between Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers or just one of the funniest people around, it’s a smart move, in our opinion to have Amy Poehler be the guest to send off Fallon to The Tonight Show and welcome Meyers to Late Night.
Seth Meyers walking from the Saturday Night Live stage to his stage next door might not be the biggest surprise for his first promo of Late Night when he takes over Feb. 25th, but do realize that SNL, Late Night, and The Tonight Show will all be under the same roof.
We’re just saying, get ready for plenty of show crossover bits.

Seth Meyers Might Have a More Streamlined Version of ‘Late Night’
If you’ve seen Seth Meyers in his tenure at SNL, you can make an educated guess that his taking over Late Night will be more than a little different than Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
According to Meyers in a recent interview, there will be less music and more sketches, which seems to be the new streamlined version of the late night talk show format that networks have been going for (The Pete Holmes Show, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Nikki and Sara Live).
You’re probably curious as we are to see where Late Night with Seth Meyers will fit in with “@midnight” & Pete Holmes Show just ending along with Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on,
Just going off the initial posters, this might be the first time that Late Night on NBC looks a little more serious than The Tonight Show.

‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ Has Staffed Up
With the likes of humorous folks such as Alex Baze, Alison Agosti, John Lutz, and more, we’re starting to have a good feeling about the transition of NBC’s Late Night from Jimmy Fallon to Seth Meyers.
We can’t wait to see what they come up with Post Olympics.
The Final Episode of ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ to Air February 6, 2014
So, as it stands right now, on Feb. 6th next year, Jay Leno will step down from The Tonight Show, then The Tonight Show will move to New York City with its new host Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers will take the reins to Late Night.
While that might seem momentous, don’t forget that The Arsenio Hall Show is coming back, Chris Hardwick is doing a late night talk show of sorts for Comedy Central, USA is developing a late night talk show with Will Ferrell, and Pete Holmes will be following Conan on TBS later this year.
Basically, late night’s going to get a whole lot more exciting really soon.
Seth Meyers Replacing Jimmy Fallon on Late Night
All the rumors and speculation have turned out to be true. Seth Meyers was the frontrunner for replacing Jimmy Fallon on Late Night when Fallon takes on his new spot as the host of The Tonight Show.
No house band has been announced, but if NBC got The Roots last time maybe they can get someone like The Black Keys or something for Meyers?
There has been plenty of gossip and rumors over the last few days regarding the transitioning of Jay Leno at The Tonight Show to move to NYC and handing the reins to Late Night host, Jimmy Fallon. Even though the deal hasn’t been officially made, there’s even more speculation with Seth Meyers possibly filling in for Fallon if he indeed goes to 11:30 or Fox wanting Leno.
Again, this is still all based on high ranking NBC sources and not a done deal.
Having The Tonight Show move back to NYC might be a little surprising, but the rest of this seems pretty straightforward and pretty much in line with NBC’s current tone of late night comedy. If the worry is about the younger demographic (i.e. competing with Jimmy Kimmel), why aren’t they trying something a little different, tonally, like IFC or FX?
