Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters, the mutli-genre hybrid anthology from celebrated film auteur and comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, will be coming very soon (July 11th in fact).

Ever since this show was announced, how it would look, sound, and feel has been a bit of a mystery, but Bobcat’s past work (World’s Greatest Dad, God Bless America)  had us imagining something crazy, clever, and wonderfully imaginative.

This trailer certainly didn’t disappoint.

Thus, let’s all look forward to the premiere of Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters on Wednesday, July 11th on TruTV.

Auteurs in comedy are rare, but when they come around, they are quite something to behold. The films of Bobcat Goldthwait gives society at large a simultaneously unflinching and often hysterical look into the mirror.

His brand new show, Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters, that will be arriving at TruTV early next year, will bring us all new sorts of genre-bending satire from Goldthwait himself in the form on an anthology series.

You can see what we’re talking about in this creepy, yet funny clip from one of those stories, Bubba The Bear.

Oh yeah, David Wain is also directing.

Netflix is adapting Josh Karp’s book A Futile and Stupid Gesture: How Doug Kenney and National Lampoon Changed Comedy Forever into a full length feature biopic, which is already enticing by itself.

The ensemble cast that has been assembled has been kind of a dream team with the aforementioned Green, Lennon, Daly, Forte, McHale, Walsh, Gemberling, Gleeson, and Mull along with Natasha Lyonne being the latest to sign on.

With Wain at the helm, A Futile and Stupid Gesture is as buzzworthy as it can get before production has even started.

It’s going to be called “TV’s Funniest Animated Stars: A Paley Center for Media Special”

Mickey Mouse to SpongeBob SquarePants to The Simpsons and several other legendary cartoon characters will be the focus of a Fox TV special put together by The Paley Center for Media. The likes of H. Jon Benjamin, Nancy Cartwright, Mike Judge, Seth Green, Pamela Adlon, Tom Kenny, Yeardley Smith, and more will chat about their various animated characters that they’ve helped put on the map.

Hopefully, they’ll do some sort of bit with some of the characters like Human Giant did all those years ago with t-shirt cannons.

Midnight on Adult Swim.

10 years ago, Seth Green has led a team of full grown adults into making absurdist stop-motion animation cartoons with his favorite action figures at Robot Chicken.

As a result, it’s now one of the pillars of Adult Swim and, with several collaboration specials and the 8th season kicking off tonight, it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon.

Looks like The Awesomes have a cross-online streaming service rival.

Bryan Cranston has a lot of irons on the fire post-Breaking Bad and finally one of them has been taken out and hammered it into what seems to be a fun sort of spin-off from Robot Chicken (Stoopid Buddy Studios, the folks behind Robot Chicken, produce this show) for Crackle, SuperMansion.

It follows old superheroes trying to stay relevant and feel meaningful in the world of today, though much more edgy and adult than The Incredibles seemingly a little more than Hulu’s similar series, The Awesomes.

It also boasts a star studded voice cast with Seth Green, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Jillian Bell, Chris Pine, Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Anton Yelchin, and Nick Kroll.

Watch the trailer, which just made its premiere at Comic-Con, here, then look for its premiere this Fall on Crackle.

Conan O’Brien kicked off his week at Comic-Con appropriately with taking Mad Max: Fury Road’s Doof Wagon down from LA to San Diego.

On top of that, he found “secret” audition tapes for the new Wolverine that will soon replace Hugh Jackman which includes Hannibal Buress, Patton Oswalt, Larry King, and more.

Even more impressive than that, O’Brien passed a “Comic-Con Citizenship Test” proctored by none other than the Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick.

This was all just Conan’s first day at Comic-Con and we can only imagine the possibilities of what’s to come. Let’s hope for special editions of Clueless Gamer and a walk from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on the Comic-Con floor.

Where many networks are going lax on their comedy, Adult Swim is apparently more than happy to pick up the slack.

Coming up for their upfront slate, Adult Swim has:
-a new series from China, IL’s Brad Neely called “TV Sucks”
-another Brett Gelman “Dinner with…” special
–Robot Chicken DC Comics Special III: Friendship Is Magic
-Untitled Golf Special with Adam Scott and Jon Daly (Scott and Daly were mistaken by many for the professional golfers that share their names)
-a special for Jon Glaser’s Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter
-Pilots from/with Paul Scheer, Million Dollar Extreme, Brian Huskey, Jason Mantzoukas, a Mexican border amusement park, Seth Green, Matt Senreich, Daniel Weidenfeld, DJ Douggpound, Bento Box, a children’s show hosted by a person that has rage issues, Rob Corddry, an upstart terrorist organization, and more.

We hope we get to see all of this very soon.

Get ready for Cranston to be done up Robot Chicken style.

In announcing their entire upcoming slate, Crackle has unveiled an animated series starring Bryan Cranston that’s set for release in the fall. Collaborating with Robot Chicken’s Matthew Senreich and Zeb Wells, Cranston will star as an older superhero attempting to lead other older superheroes in SuperMansion. Seth Green, Keegan Michael-Key, and Jillian Bell will also be featured voices in the cast.

Now we’re wondering if Seth Meyers’ The Awesomes on Hulu and SuperMansion’s superhero team “The League of Freedom” would ever have a cross streaming service showdown.

‘Robot Chicken’ Creators Take Stop Motion Animation to a New Web Series, ‘Friendship All-Stars of Friendship’

Robot Chicken is expanding their empire now from parodying established institutions like Star Wars and comic books to a web series. “Friendship All-Stars of Friendship” will feature however only one set of stop motion animation characters as opposed to whatever toys Seth Green finds in his house.
