IFC has faux talk shows covered with Comedy Bang! Bang!. Now they’re looking to get into the real thing.
From Dan Harmon, IFC is ordering a pilot of a panel talk show where Harmon chats up famous historical figures played by comedians called Great Minds. From Sara Schaefer, they’re ordering a week-in-review show with predominantly female correspondents called 1320 Seconds. To round it off with a third, IFC is ordering a more traditional talk show pilot with Jim Norton as the host.
All three are different enough that we wouldn’t be surprised to see all of them get a short first season order.
The both hilarious Sara Schaefer and Ian Abramson kick off the premiere episode of Comedy Dynamics’ new stand-up showcase series Coming To The Stage hosted by Dan Levy.
As we said before, you can watch it on Hulu right now and you can do so free of any password.

So, 12 comics intros at live shows could potentially be, “You’ve seen our next comic on “Coming To The Stage”, coming to the stage…”
Dave Anthony, Matt McCarthy, Sara Schaefer, Ian Abramson, Rob O’Reilly, Jen D’Angelo, Rell Battle, James Davis, Jesse Popp, Benji Aflalo, Joe Sib, and Allen Strickland Williams make up 12 comics that will be hosted by Dan Levy in the new stand-up web series Coming To The Stage.
It’s a line-up you should definitely watch as featured in this trailer.
Comedy Dynamics caught some footage at the “hallowed” rooms of the Hollywood Hotel and Tribal Cafe showing that they searched everywhere they could for the best comics they could find.
Coming To The Stage is set for release online May 6th.
Sara Schaefer is a perfect example of why “female comedians” should just be labeled as “comedians” and don’t need to be brought up on stage with “Are you guys ready for a lady?” because she’s outright funny, no qualifiers needed.
Her debut comedy album Chrysalis should back that statement up thoroughly.
Sara’s comedic lens is a wonderfully empowering one, especially for those who are tired of the world’s seemingly arbitrary standards with everything. For instance, you’ll be able to hear about It how crying at a museum can be one of the best things you can do at a museum.
Chrysalis comes out next week from Comedy Dynamics on Mar. 17th, but you can pre-order it now.
The wonderful Sara Schaefer is recording her very first comedy album this month. Though she’s currently in LA, Schaefer is doing the album recording in Brooklyn‘s Union Hall.
If you’re free and around NYC on the night of Jan. 22nd, you can catch her for two shows at 7PM and 9:15PM.
If not, make yourself free, be in NY, and then go to to the album recording.
We’re not sure if Nerdist is trying to keep up with the pace of pilot and script orders of networks or not, but they might be well on their way to doing so.
Last week, Hound Tall with Moshe Kasher was Nerdist’s latest addition to their network of podcasts and now, Lies with Sara Schaefer is the newest addition in association with WNYC.
The show itself sounds like an absolute fun ride as Sara and a guest are required to lie about and improvise everything. The first guest is Jim Gaffigan who talks about beauty and gymnastics, two things that Gaffigan “exemplifies” completely, so you should listen and subscribe now.
The wonderful Sara Schaefer has just released a brand new web series entitled Day Job. In it, she hilariously pinpoints the things one has to do to make through a day job.
See what we mean with wishful typing, busy signals, and “going to the bathroom” for other reasons than going to the bathroom.
MTV Didn’t Pick Up ‘Nikki & Sara Live’ For a 3rd Season
First Totally Biased is off the air and now Nikki & Sara Live won’t get a 3rd season. The announcement comes from Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer on their great podcast You Had To Be There, which was part of the reason they got a show in the first place, with their staff at Sara’s apartment.
We know that there are probably solid financial aspects, demographic and branding research behind why MTV isn’t keeping Nikki & Sara Live on the air, but we’re really shocked about this and probably whatever MTV is going to have as a replacement.
For Nikki and Sara Live, Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer flip the script on Robin Thicke’s controversial NSFW music video for his hit single “Blurred Lines” by having a bunch of naked dudes and them dressed stylishly in black blazers.
Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer are at again with Nikki and Sara LIVE. The second season premieres July 30th at 11PM on MTV.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see more stuff like this promo you should watch right now.
MTV Renews Nikki and Sara Live
Congratulations to Nikki Glaser and Sara Schaefer for getting a second season on their show and they found out as a surprise while on a talk show with Katie Couric.
