Alright, OK, well, well, well… two of the best improv groups in comedy history are coming together for a very, very special, exclusive virtual performance presented by the wondrous Dynasty Typewriter.

The improvised comedy powers of Wild Horses (Lauren Lapkus, Stephanie Allynne, Mary Holland, and Erin Whitehead) and Superego (Jeremy Carter, Matt Gourley, Mark McConville, and Paul F. Tompkins) that truly do represent so much of the crème de la crème of improv comedy are becoming the portmanteau of Super Horses, Wild Ego for this special night on Mon. Apr. 19th at 5PM PT/8PM ET.

No matter what platform or wherever this would be happening, this is most certainly a comedy event not to be missed. Fortunately, you’ll be able to live-stream this from the comfort of wherever you’re comfortably (hopefully) not gathering. Best of all, tickets are only $5-$10. Best go get’em here.

Season 2 of The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project Has Arrived

Whenever we’re relegated to enjoying the talents of Andy Daly merely on CarMax commercials, there is an undeniable void in our lives.

Thankfully, today, the second season of The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project, the podcast where Andy Daly along with Matt Gourley try a different podcast pilot concept every episode, has kicked off at Earwolf.

Get into binge listening to it for free wherever you listen to podcasts.

Superego, One of The Funniest Podcasts Around, Will Return for 6 Episodes

Together, Matt Gourley, Jeremy Carter, Mark McConville, and Paul F. Tompkins form Superego, one of our all time favorite podcasts. It’s as ridiculous as it is brilliant and Superego one-up each other in how absurd they can be in absurdist situations, but doing so with precision.

Seriously, go binge listen to and enjoy past episodes here.

According to this announcement, there will be six new episodes, 4 done in studio and 2 done live, later this year thanks to Earwolf and Stitcher Premium.

Even though the date isn’t announced, it should be something to mark somewhere on your calendar because we think it’s that noteworthy.

Superego’s Matt Gourley Does the “Drunk History” of Rocket Scientist Wernher Von Braun

Normally being drunk and rockets should never ever mix.

Matt Gourley from the fantastic podcast Superego, Drunk History, and Nathan Fillion make a great case for an exception to that rule.

Watch Gourley try to make his way through the story of famous rocket scientist Wernher Von Braun, including trying to say his name, while very intoxicated.

Superego’s Matt Gourley and James Bladon Have Made Theme Songs for Non-Existent TV Shows and Are Taking Submissions For Opening Sequences

This is almost like a DIY version of Adam Scott’s Greatest Event in Television History specials.

Matt Gourley from the beloved Superego and James Bladon have teamed up to make TV themes that sounds so much like a real TV theme of a TV show from yesteryear, you’d have a hard time believing the shows didn’t exist. Even when they have long acronyms like S.T.I.N.G.R.A.Y. or juxtapose gnomes into a sitcom, the theme songs of Stay Tuned Vol. 1 are pretty perfect.

If you so desire and have the free time and resources to do so, Gourley and Bladon are looking for submissions for opening credit sequences to go with these themes. They just might feature your submissions as well.

While it might seem like a lot of work, we have no doubt that someone’s going to come up with something great as plenty of folks did for Superego’s Stetch Maldonay contest.

Superego’s Matt Gourley and Mark McConville Do Live Game Commentary For Pistol Shrimps Basketball as “Pistol Shrimps Radio” Podcast

Before you even start forming the question, you do not have to know sports to get into this. In fact, you don’t even have to be in attendance of the game that Matt and Mark are commentating on to enjoy it.

You’ve already probably heard about the LA based women’s basketball rec league that has gotten a lot of press from having The Pistol Shrimps (as well as the league’s dance squad, The LA City Municipal Dance Squad) that are filled with great comedy folks like Stephanie Allynne, Aubrey Plaza, and more.

Well, they now have a podcast of live in-game commentary, Pistol Shrimps Radio, done by two of the funniest people on podcasts/”venerable sports acknowledgers” Matt Gourley and Mark McConville who we’d hope you would know from the hysterical podcast Superego.

Here’s a whole episode on Soundcloud of what both sports fan and non-sports fan can enjoy so long as they both love absurdist comedic stylings.

They’re already ten episodes in, so listen, catch up, subscribe, etc.

Superego Has a Winner For Their Editing-One-Nearly-40 Minute-Sketch Contest

Earlier this year, one of the funniest podcasts around, Superego, revealed the existence of a sketch about scissor repairman that they had recorded that went nearly 40 minutes known as Stetch Maldonay.

They weren’t sure what to do with it due to its unwieldy length. So, they opted to have a contest to see if any of the Superego faithful would be able to make it into something that’s fit for their high quality brand of short form audio absurdity.

Well, months after the contest was announced, they’ve found a winner in a submission from one Blake Fawley, which you can hear here.

We’ve heard it and it definitely meets Superego standards. They’ve also found some runner-up winners as well that you can listen to here.

If there’s any takeaway here, you should just be listening to any and all of Superego.

Remember that new Paul F. Tompkins podcast we were talking about awhile ago? Well, it’s here.

The very first episode of Spontaneation with Paul F. Tompkins has arrived on Earwolf with guests Busy Phillips, Craig Cackowski, Matt Gourley, and Janet Varney.

Chats, make ‘em ups, and more are to be had at Tompkins direction and you should be even more enticed by the episode’s title “A Denny’s Parking Lot”, a place that never encounters a dull second.

If you, for some reason, are still doubting the popularity, look no further than the launch of Paul Scheer’s very own podcast network Wolfpop today. Scheer himself has plenty of success with his own podcast How Did This Get Made? and several appearances on a multitude of other podcasts and is now moving on up with a network of his own, which, by the looks of it, is going to be pretty great.

Started with the help of Earwolf and Matt Gourley, Wolfpop will feature podcasts focused on comedy and pop culture such as DENZEL WASHINGTON IS THE GREATEST ACTOR OF ALL TIME PERIOD with W. Kamau Bell and Kevin Avery or Reading Outloud with Nate Corddry or Cry Babies with Sarah Thyre and Susan Orlean or The Stallone Podcast with Paul Scheer and Sly Stallone and so much more.

We know that you want get into all of this already, so we’ll let you get to that.

Certainly, there are plenty of oddities that take place during a city council hearing that has the floor open to any and all residents of that particular city. However, none are as great as the Fremont City Council meeting as done by Superego.

Kick off Monday correctly and watch an animated version (animation by Dan Hartshorn) of the Fremontians reconvening for pretty much anything besides actual town business.

While we all wait as patiently as we can for the new season of one of the funniest podcasts around known only as Superego, they have given us all something to tide us over until September when that new season actually premieres.

As of this week, they have their very own YouTube channel where they’ve made more animated versions of their sketches as well as some live action ones that are just as crazy and damn funny.

We highly recommend binge watching and subscribing so you can see more from a priest that you shouldn’t be confessing to, “old timey” comedy duos, a meeting between Don DiMello, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and H.R. Giger, and “great” California cooking tips.

One of the funniest podcasts around, Superego, is coming back with a whole new row of episodes come this September. That is absolutely great news, but, somehow, on top of that, they’ve managed to make this more exciting by adding the one and only Paul F. Tompkins as a regular cast member of Superego.

So look out for the latest batch of “case studies” that also features such guests as Andy Daly, Thomas Lennon, and more as well as some bonus content from past seasons.

In case it wasn’t clear, you should be getting into Superego if you already haven’t done so.

Fox Buys Comedy From Amanda Lund, Matt Gourley, Jack Black & Diablo Cody

We’re not sure how many times we’re going to say “nice move” to Fox by picking up what sounds like an amazing comedy project, but here we go again as they have gotten their hands on something from the combined talents of Matt Gourley of Super Ego, Amanda Lund of Yahoo’s Ghost Ghirls, Jack Black, and Diablo Cody.

Nice move, Fox.
