An inflatable screen, a DIY picnic area outside of an animation studio, and a bunch of wondrous, as stated, “messed up cartoons” is what makes Let’s What Messed Up Cartoons a pretty damn memorable evening (perhaps, one of those only in LA sort of happenings?).

There’s no subterfuge here. Let’s Watch Messed Up Cartoons aims to deliver on its name with a great line-up that includes BoJack Horseman’s Mike Hollingsworth and the wonderful Jamie Loftus.

Sunday July 30th will bring a one day comedy and music festival to Lincoln Heights (just north of DTLA) to an ultra cool Victorian style house known as HM 157. 

Danger Collective Records’ Concerto Con will feature comedy from Baron Vaughn, Brent Weinbach, Matt Braunger, Jay Weingarten, Rachel Scanlon, Max Baumgarten, Ellory Smith, Sydney Feyder, and in house host comedian, Pierre Concerto  to name a few and music from Jerry Paper, Boyo, C Roy, Momma, Brutus VIII, Wild Wing, Astral Mary, DJ Temple Judea, and DJ Marshall.

Tickets are $20 at the door and $15 online in advance. You can (and should) get your advance tickets here.

Robert Buscemi and Sofiya Alexandra’s Surprise!, an uber-cool show where they only reveal the address of the “tucked away” venue and keep everything else (you guessed it) a surprise, is returning tomorrow. 

They’ll be at the Brewery Artists Lofts near Lincoln Heights at 8:30PM this Saturday. You can find out a few more details here.
