james corden, jay larson, late late show, late night, stand up comedy

The way that Jay Larson distills life into his bits and stories is a great reminder that, perhaps, we should all re-examine the way we live our lives. Whether Larson is living his life for the joke or he just is hyperaware of the comedy in every moment of life, Larson knows how to spin quite the tale.

Give his latest performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden a watch here.

Though you might have seen Anna Drezen’s name most frequently as a writer for SNL, you should know that Anna is quite the wonderfully madcap stand-up.

The way she absurdly twists and turns her premises into punchlines is very satisfying and a joy to watch.

Just see for yourself in this debut late night stand-up set on last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden.

The mere cadence of Andrew Orolfo has such a bouncy rhythm that takes whatever joke he’s telling to another level. His observations are silly, but also carefully considered if you’re really listening making for some very good, tailor made jokes.

See all of that for yourself in Andrew Orolfo’s very first late night stand-up set on last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden.

Please Enjoy Dave Ross’ TV Stand-Up Debut on Corden

dave ross, late late show, stand up comedy

Dave Ross was one of the first comedians we ever met in LA and one that we’ve delighted in watching from the get go. This set, which just happens to be Dave’s first TV set, is particularly fun as Dave takes on PETA and does one of our favorite closing bits. Also, there’s an unmistakable command of the stage while Dave maintains a charming looseness that we really love.

Additionally, it seems as if Dave had James Corden intro him as “the only man who ever had sex”? Round of applause for that.

So, please enjoy Dave Ross’ first televised stand-up set on The Late Late Show with James Corden here.

Josh Gondelman and is kind of perfect for late night as his craftsmanship of jokes are fantastic and he has an upbeat charm, but it’s never overbearing. Those are just a couple of the reasons he gets to make the rounds performing stand-up on late night .

See for yourself in his latest set on The Late Late Show with James Corden here.

Andy Sandford is one of the best joke craftsmen in comedy working today. We’ve said it many a time and we’ll say it again because he maintains such a high level of excellence in the art of stand-up comedy.

Please enjoy his latest work from this splendid set on last night’s Corden.

The pervasiveness of “daddy issues” these days prompted a great set from Chad Daniels, who seems like a pretty swell dad (not to mention that he looks the part too).

Please enjoy it from this week’s Late Late Show with James Corden here.

The jokes of Ryan Conner kind of sneak up on you as it has in LA for years. He may seem mild mannered in appearance and has a calm, approachable presence, but his writing and delivery are impeccable and hidden-in-the-seams of his very natural cadence (on top of having a fascinating life story).

His tradecraft was put on display in this set from last week’s Corden and it does not disappoint. Please watch and enjoy it here.

Paige Weldon Makes a Great Late Night Debut on Corden

The Late Late Show with James Corden is really picking up the slack for stand-up comedy being featured on late night in 2019. They’ve already had four sets this month alone including this late night debut of the wonderful Paige Weldon.

Paige is definitely one of those comics whose rise we’ve been following for years in LA (go get Girlfriend at the Time by the way) and we’re so glad to see her it kill it, especially in her own low key way, on Corden.

So, please enjoy her set here.

Well, 2019 is off to a good start with stand-up on late night (and Conan, the late night talk show that probably featured stand-up the most isn’t even back yet).

Joel Kim Booster delivered a sharp, spirited set on last night’s Late Late Show and effectively cancelled “table side guacamole”.

Watch and delight in his set here.

There are lots of things up in the air for 2019, but at least the time honored tradition of doing stand-up on late night talk shows is off to a great start with this set from Mekki Leeper where he killed on last night’s Late Late Show with James Corden.

We won’t say anymore as Mekki has a big, fun reveal in the middle of this set. Well, we’ll say one more thing: you should be following whatever Mekki is getting into if you aren’t doing so already (hopefully he’ll do another round of satirizing ads with Rebrand again).

Lisa Best is a terrific comedian whose name you should definitely get familiar with and also had a lovely late night debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

On top of that, she made a great case, during her set, for understanding and empathisizing the B (for bisexual) in LGBTQIA+ more than the general public probably does currently.

Watch, enjoy, listen, and learn here.

The Late Late Show Finally Puts That Cracked-Egg-Is-Your-Brain-on-Drugs Ad In Its Place

Long ago, in the last era of big time anti-drug campaigns, there was one particular ad that suggested that your brain on illegal controlled substances was like an egg being cracked and fried on a pan.

With all the years that have passed, such an ad seems even more ridiculous. Corden’s The Late Late Show reminds us of that and points out what probably happened during the shooting of said ad.

Nate Fernald Tried Sneaking Around The Late Late Show Offices and Made the Second Episode of “The Nate Nate Show”

Already, Nate Fernald has been given a hard pass by James Corden for The Nate Nate Show, a talk show made within the halls and rooms of The Late Late Show with James Corden, after its first episode.

However, every innovator worth a damn has always been beset with rejection on their path to the top.

With that in mind, Nate Fernald pushed forward and (as covertly as possible) made the second episode of The Nate Nate Show.

Beauty and the Beast Gets the Crosswalk Musical Treatment on Corden

Every once in awhile, the intersection at Beverly and Genesee at CBS Television City gets surprised with a presentation of a famous musical courtesy of The Late Late Show with James Corden that happens on the crosswalk while the light is red.

Of course, this means it’s a much, much, much more abridged version lest Corden and company wish to further run the risk of getting hit by cars.

Their latest ‘crosswalk musical’ takes on Beauty and the Beast and even has stars of the movie musical adaptation Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, and Josh Gad join in holding up traffic to sing and dance in period costume.

How much Corden is a taskmaster, especially since he has the credibility of a Tony Award to back him up, in these segments is pretty fun.

Indeed, this is not Myq Kaplan’s first “rodeo” doing stand-up on The Late late Show.

As Myq himself has said, the molecules have moved and the host is different this time around. Myq also does another bang-up job like he did in previous appearances on a set that had much more wood accents and a host from a different part of the Commonwealth.

Watch and enjoy it here. Also, you should get his album No Kidding too.

Luckily, there are late night appearances like this that show he is and will always be a trailblazer in comedy.

Also, note how much David Oyelowo is in pain during this bit.
