You’re seeing a lot of Tenacious D in the news and deservedly so. They’ve announced their worldwide tour and the second edition of their comedy and music festival, Festival Supreme, is tomorrow.

On their appearance Conan, Jack Black goes into how he funded the festival as well as going through a map of the haunted house/maze, one of only many attractions coming tomorrow afternoon at The Shrine near USC.

Then, of course, no Tenacious D appearance on late night would be really complete without Jack Black and Kyle Gass rocking one of their tunes live, which, in this case, happens to be their song “History”.

The Brink starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins has just added Rob Brydon who we hope you have seen on The Trip or The Trip to Italy and Michelle Gomez who we’re sure you’ve seen on Doctor Who to the cast for a few episodes.

While there are plenty of parallels in the premises of both, there’s no trailer, teaser, premiere date, or any other such thing to clue us in as to how much The Brink might or might not be like the most famous dark satirical geopolitical comedy, Dr. Strangelove. The addition of Brydon and Gomez as a couple, while certainly a welcome one, only make us more intensely curious as to what The Brink will end up ultimately being.

Exposition Park will no longer be the site of the 2nd Festival Supreme, but don’t worry as this does not mean it’s cancelled. The date is the same, the mind blowing, amazing line-up is still the same, and, actually, they’re in the same part of town.

The Shrine Expo Hall and Grounds, another gigantic LA venue, will be the home for this year’s Festival Supreme, which is literally a brief walk from Exposition Park on the south side of the USC campus (The Shrine is on the north side).

Tickets are still on sale for $99.

The rock comedy that had Jack Black as an unorthodox music teacher, School of Rock, is now becoming a TV series at Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon ordered the series from Paramount TV and have yet to attach someone to play Dewey Finn, Jack Black’s character in the movie. Still, Scott Rudin and Richard Linklater, the director of School of Rock, are set to executive produce, which should instill faith as to what might happen with this show.

We’ll see next year when School of Rock the series is set to premiere.

Drunk History enlisted the drunk storytelling skills of Dave Ross and Steve Berg to tell the amazing stories of the anti-segregation Judge Waties Waring and how Citizen Kane was made, respectively.

The reenactments bleeding into the drunkenness of the storyteller along with Rich Fulcher as Waring and Jack Black as Orson Welles are priceless in these clips.

Bill Hader To Create & Star In HBO Series

HBO is really racking it up with their comedy slate. We’re already highly anticipating The Brink with Jack Black and Tim Robbins and now we have an entire Bill Hader series to also look forward to.

Even if it’s Hader mostly doing obscure Star Wars impressions, we’d be cool with that.

HBO Orders The Brink with Jack Black and Tim Robbins

So, we’re getting what very well might be a Dr. Strangelove TV series starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins.

Whether or not that’s the case, we’re excited to see what HBO comes out with from this dark comedy series from Benabib Brothers and produced by Jerry Weintraub and Jay Roach.

Jack Black/Mike White and Seth Rogen/Joseph Gordon-Levitt Reteaming Respectively on Film Projects

From School of Rock, Jack Black and writer Mike White are getting together again for HS reunion comedy D-Train and, from 50/50, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Jonathan Levine are also coming together for another project a Christmas themed comedy, which will probably be a little grittier than your normal fare based off of 50/50.

Still, both projects from both “reteams” definitely sound enticing to us and, if you haven’t already, you should watch 50/50 and School of Rock. Familiarize yourself and enjoy two solid movies.

LA’s MOCA Trying to Make ‘Art + Comedy’ Work in New Initiative

The Museum Of Contemporary Art here in Los Angeles is making an effort, specifically called Art + Comedy, to, as you can guess, bring the burgeoning worlds of comedy and high art together.

They are already well on their way in collaborations with Jack Black and Fred Armisen, but we’re curious to see what else MOCA is going to cook up and if they’d start something like a monthly comedy show at one of their spaces.

This makes us wonder how this will juxtapose against the other “art/comedy” exhibitions in LA, like the frequent pop culture tributes at Gallery 1988.

Jack Black, Fred Armisen to Star in MOCAtv Web Comedy Series

Apparently, Fred Armisen will be playing a superhero named Ambiance Man and Jack Black will be his complimentary villain Unidentifiable Odor. All of this is for a web series through the upcoming YouTube Channel of MOCA (Museum Of Contemporary Art) in LA.

So, we’ll have to wait until next Friday to see what this is exactly, but we’re pretty into it without a teaser or set photos.

Fox Buys Comedy From Amanda Lund, Matt Gourley, Jack Black & Diablo Cody

We’re not sure how many times we’re going to say “nice move” to Fox by picking up what sounds like an amazing comedy project, but here we go again as they have gotten their hands on something from the combined talents of Matt Gourley of Super Ego, Amanda Lund of Yahoo’s Ghost Ghirls, Jack Black, and Diablo Cody.

Nice move, Fox.

Jack Black and Tim Robbins to Star in HBO Comedy ‘The Brink’

The HBO dark political thriller comedy from Jerry Weintraub, Jay Roach and Roberto Benabib now has a pretty solid starring cast in Jack Black and Tim Robbins and we can only hope that this could possibly be a Dr. Strangelove for television.
