It’s been far too long (over a year at this point) since we’ve seen the delightful Ian Karmel do stand-up on late night.

Luckily, that wait ended when Karmel got to perform on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night and gave us our Karmel fix (pun intended).

Enjoy his set right here right now.

At the beginning of the year, we reported that the very funny Sean O’Connor and Ian Karmel were brought on board to write for the new Late Late Show hosted by James Corden.

As their premiere is less than a month away, they’ve filled the rest of their writing staff.

So, the writers of The Late Late Show with James Corden are:

Mike Gibbons who is the co-creator of Tosh.0
Sean O’Connor
Ian Karmel
James Davis who recently appeared on Last Call with Carson Daly
Lauren Greenberg
Ben Hoffman from The Ben Show
David Dineen-Porter (host of Party of Four podcast)
Nedaa Sweiss
DJ Javerbaum from The Daily Show

So, this bunch makes for a good, wide mix along with Corden and Reggie Watts that has us even more enticed for their debut.

I will do anything that @IanKarmel does. That’s why, I am writing for the new Late Late Show with James Corden.

This week has seen a lot of exciting developments for the upcoming Late Late Show with James Corden. The veteran producing team is set to perform and the amazing Reggie Watts is going to by Corden’s side as bandleader.

Additionally, the writing staff, so far, will have Sean O’Connor whose written at at Sports Show with Norm MacDonald, The ESPYs, and MTV Video Music Awards and Ian Karmel whose written at Chelsea Lately at its table. Both are also pretty damn funny stand-up comedians. With those two and probably more fine comedy folks to be announced, Corden’s era of The Late Late Show looks is going to have a nice kickoff.

One of Portland’s funniest exports over the last few years, among Portlandia, Ron Funches, and more, has been Ian Karmel. As soon as he came to LA, he was a big hit in the scene, already in at Chelsea Lately, and ended up doing a set on Conan not too long after that.

He is now setting to record his very first album back at home in Portland, OR for Kill Rock Stars Sat. Feb. 7th at Mississippi Studios. We highly recommend going to this if you can and/or buying the album afterwards.

Adam Devine’s House Party returned last week on Comedy Central for its second season as well as a big ol’ crazy house party down in New Orleans.

In the midst of all of that, the hilarious Ian Karmel told a great joke on exactly why he thinks if there really was a God, he’d be weird. Watch it here, but think twice before you try to tell a religion joke at a house party.

According to this trailer for the second season of Adam Devine’s House Party featuring plenty of debauchery in New Orleans with Adam Devine and Adam Ray, there’s going to be plenty of great stand-up from some of our favorite folks to watch on the mic.

They include: Aparna Nancherla, Randy Liedtke, Kristen Schaal, Tone Bell, Nikki Glaser, Ian Karmel, Nick Rutherford, Kurt Braunohler, Mike Bridenstine, Joesph Pera, Billy Bonnell, Rell Battle, Rob Christensen, and way more.

The second season premieres Sept. 9th on Comedy Central, so we suggest not missing it.
